29. Danielle #2

I dig my nails into his shoulders and hold on.

The angle is brutal and perfect. Exhaustion makes everything sharper - every thrust, every filthy word, every laugh that breaks out of me when he nearly slips because we’re both still half-wearing restaurant shoes.

He notices, grins like a maniac, and kicks his own shoes off without pulling out.

I toeing mine off is less graceful; we stagger, still joined, into the living room, and collapse onto the couch in a tangle of limbs and leftover uniform.

In the hallway, before the couch, there is a moment where he almost drops me because we’re both laughing too hard at the absurdity - Morelli heir, covered in dishwater residue, fucking his wife against a coat rack - and the near-fall only makes us hungrier.

He pins my wrists above my head with one hand and uses the other to guide himself back in when we slip apart, and the look on his face when he bottoms out again is pure filthy triumph.

“Still want to quiz me on wooden spoons?” he asks.

“Ask me in the morning. I’m busy.”

“Yes, chef.”

He ends up sitting. I end up straddling him. His cock slides back into me as I sink down, and we both go quiet for a second at the deep, perfect fit.

“Hi,” I whisper, forehead to his.

“Hi.” His hands stroke up my bare back under what’s left of my blouse. “Still magnificent.”

“Still sweaty.”

“My favorite version.” He thrusts up as I grind down. The couch complains. Somewhere a neighbor’s television murmurs through the wall and I couldn’t care less. “Ride me. Use those chef’s thighs. Show me what full power looks like when it’s aimed at my cock.”

I do. I plant my feet and lift and drop, finding a rhythm that makes his jaw go slack, that makes me moan into his mouth between kisses that taste like shared water and victory. His thumb finds my clit again. I swat his hand away.

“My pace,” I pant. “My kitchen. My rules. Even here.”

“Yes, chef.” He’s smiling so hard it must hurt. “Fuck - yes, chef - whatever you want - I’m yours-”

“I want you to come when I say.”

“Cruel.”

“Accurate.”

I chase my own pleasure shamelessly, grinding in circles when the angle hits right, bouncing when I want more slap.

The orgasm builds like a ticket machine that won’t stop printing - relentless, mechanical, then suddenly overwhelming.

I tell him I’m close. He grips my hips hard enough to leave crescent marks and holds still, letting me use him, letting me take.

“Now,” I order when I start to tip. “Come with me. That’s an order.”

“Yes-” He breaks on the word, thrusting up hard as I clamp around him, both of us falling apart in the same ugly, perfect, exhausted wave.

I pulse around his cock. He spills deep with a groan that sounds like the end of a war.

We keep moving through it in messy little aftershocks until we’re just trembling and laughing into each other’s mouths.

On the couch he takes his time for three whole strokes - almost sweet - before the triumph comes back into his hips.

He tips me lengthwise, one knee hooked over the back cushion, and covers me, driving deep enough that the armrest creaks in protest. A throw pillow hits the floor.

I laugh. He swallows the laugh with a kiss that tastes like me and shared adrenaline.

“Tell me dirty things,” I demand between thrusts. “I earned dirty things.”

“You earned a parade.” He bottoms out, grinds, pulls back. “You earned every cock in Florence on its knees. Lucky for Florence I don’t share.” Another thrust. “This cunt is mine. This kitchen is yours. Those are the only two laws left in our marriage and I will die defending both.”

“Possessive dish boy.”

“Devoted dish boy.” He slips a hand under my ass and tilts me so every stroke drags over the place that makes my vision spark. “Say my name when you come this time. Not chef. Not orders. My name.”

“Make me.”

He does - relentless, precise, the same focus he gave the mountains of pans turned entirely on wrecking me. I break with Niccolo torn out of my throat like a prayer and a joke at once, and he follows on the next thrust, flooding me while he laughs into my neck like joy itself is indecent.

We don’t move for a long minute. Sweat cools. The apartment settles around us - the drip of the kitchen faucet he promised to fix, the distant scooter whine of Florence at one in the morning, the soft slap of our breathing syncing up.

“Water,” I croak.

“In a second.” He presses a kiss to my sternum, then my mouth. “Let me look at you wrecked on our couch first. This is going in the mental scrapbook under ‘reasons I washed dishes.’”

“You’re impossible.”

“I’m in love with a tyrant. It tracks.”

I collapse against his chest. His heart hammers under my ear. His cock twitches inside me as he softens. The living room is a disaster of restaurant-stained clothing leading in a trail from the front door - coat, shirt, belt, one of my shoes somehow on the coffee table.

“We should move,” I mumble.

“We should never move again.”

“Speak for yourself. I have lunch prep in seven hours.”

“Then sleep here.” He kisses my hair, arms banding around me. “On our couch. In our apartment. With your dish boy still inside you like a very filthy medal.”

I snort. “You’re ridiculous.”

“You love it.”

“I love you.” The words come easy, warm, unshadowed. “And you were - adequate - at dishes.”

He pinches my side. I squeal. He slips out of me; we both hiss at the loss; I rearrange myself against him so we’re tangled properly on the cushions, naked enough to be scandalous if anyone walked in, too tired to care.

Somewhere between the second orgasm and the decision to stay on the couch, he carries me - actually carries me, laughing - from the cushion pile to the kitchenette for water, still naked, still half-hard, and sets me on the counter the way he set me on the restaurant counter months ago in another life.

This time I don’t push him away. I wrap my legs around him and pull him back into my body for a last, slow, standing fuck that is more grind than thrust, more kissing than talking, more thank-you than conquest.

“One more,” he whispers. “For the ticket machine. For the mushroom people. For every pan I circled correctly.”

“You’re going to mythologize dish soap.”

“I’m going to mythologize you.” He moves inside me in shallow, sweet rolls, hand cupped under my ass to protect me from the hard edge of the counter. “My partner. My chef. The woman who let me be useful with my hands instead of my name.”

I come quietly this time, face buried in his neck, and he follows with a shudder and a laugh, and we drink the water afterward like athletes, dripping on the tile, ridiculous and free.

Later, tangled together on the couch, I trace patterns on his chest with my fingertip.

“You were good today,” I say. “In the kitchen.”

“I was adequate. There’s a difference.”

“You took orders. You didn’t question, didn’t try to improve my system, didn’t once suggest a better way of doing things.” I prop myself up to look at him. “Do you know how rare that is? How hard it is for someone used to being in charge?”

“I wasn’t in charge. You were. That’s how it should be - your kitchen, your rules.”

“Most men would have struggled with that.”

“Most men didn’t spend the last year learning what happens when they try to control everything.” He pulls me closer. “I’m done being in charge of things that aren’t mine to control. Your restaurant, your career, your choices - those belong to you. My job is to support, not to direct.”

“And if I need you to wash dishes again tomorrow?”

“Then I’ll wash dishes tomorrow.” He kisses my forehead. “And the day after. And the day after that. For as long as you need me.”

I settle against him, exhaustion finally catching up.

“This is what I wanted,” I say quietly. “This is what I was looking for, all those years ago, before everything went wrong. A partner. Someone who shows up. Someone who takes orders when the situation calls for it and doesn’t make it about their ego.”

“I wish I’d figured it out sooner.”

“So do I. But you figured it out eventually. That’s what matters.”

We fall asleep there on the couch, still tangled together, too tired to move to the bedroom. In the morning, we’ll do it all again.
