Chapter 27 #3
“That’s going to be challenging because I don’t want to,” he chuckled, but he didn’t put his hand back on me. “When did you ice your throat last?”
“Around eleven.”
“Stay there,” he warned, getting to his feet and walking into the kitchen, returning with ice packs, water, and a sandwich. “There. I think you’re staying back at Hunter’s tonight. He’s pissed with me.”
I wasn’t going to ask why when I knew it was over him touching me.
“I should probably see if Jensen can kick the staff out tonight so I can stay with him and Luke,” I sighed, coughing and taking a sip of the water to try and soothe it.
“If you want your voice back, you need to stop using it for a few days,” he said seriously. “Take Ty with you and make him tell them about you and me.”
“It’s not that simple. I need to explain my feelings about the situation. Ty can’t do that for me.”
“I get it. Tell them you want to fuck me on the side. Actually, bribe Luke by saying I’ll give him pointers for fucking Jensen. If he needs, I’ll fuck him and—”
“You’re not touching Luke,” I said to cut off that idea.
“Why not? Believe it or not but I can be gentle. I have experience,” he said casually, and I shook my head.
“No.”
“Don’t say I didn’t offer then,” he grumbled, pointing to the sandwich. “Eat.”
He made me eat the whole thing and drink the glass of water before letting me up from the couch, and once I’d texted Jensen to make sure his staff were gone, Marco took me to Hunter’s so I could get Lukas’ car that I’d left there.
Marco didn’t want me going off alone, but I insisted I was fine and he could leave me alone.
I saw Brick on my drive home, and he raised a hand in a wave as he drove in the opposite direction to me, but I didn’t run into anyone else.
The guys were all at Jensen’s waiting for me, and I was a little bit surprised to see Caden with them.
“Marco told us not to let you talk,” Tyler said brightly as he pulled me down onto his lap on the recliner, and I gave him a pointed look. The whole point of me coming here was to talk, and he knew it.
“I need to talk to you guys about something,” I replied, trying to push through the strain in my voice. “Something happened last night and—”
“Are you okay?” Lukas asked as he stood, moving closer to inspect me.
“No one hurt me. Things went a little too far with Marco, and I want to be upfront about it.”
The air in the room shifted as Lukas slowly sat back down in his seat, his eyes narrowed.
“How far?”
I explained it from the beginning like I had for Diesel, not wanting a repeat of what had happened with me and Slash, and as much as no one looked surprised, they definitely didn’t like it.
“Do you even know if he’s clean? My emotions aside, you let him rub his unwrapped cock against your pussy and come on it?” Lukas demanded, making me wince. It was a valid concern, one I probably should have spoken to Marco about this morning.
“I’ll ask him.”
“You’ve spent so much energy trying to prove you haven’t been sneaking around with them, and I believe you, but it was a lot of energy wasted if you start hooking up with them now,” Jensen murmured, concern in his eyes. “Skeet’s going to literally kill you.”
“This has nothing to do with Skeet,” Tyler grunted, backing me up. “He left. He chose to end things. He has no say in the matter now.”
“I suppose you were happy to let them do all of this beside you?” Jensen scoffed, making Tyler smirk.
“Definitely.”
“What about me?” Caden asked flatly. “I know we’re not good right now, but—”
“You haven’t seen them with her, dude,” Tyler answered. “They really do give a shit. They treat her really good.”
“Just because someone is nice doesn’t mean she needs to fuck them.”
I put my hands up in a time-out motion, eyeing him.
“It’s not like that. I don’t know my feelings, but I know there’s an attraction to them.
While you and Skeet were shutting me out and leaving me to rot in prison, Marco and Hunter came to visit weekly.
When I got shivved, Marco broke into the hospital and stayed with me for the night.
They kept me updated on things and had my back the whole time.
They showed up when I killed Max, and every single time I needed them, they were there. ”
“Only because they had a tracker in your neck,” Lukas grumbled, not looking convinced.
“Is this a deal-breaker?” I asked carefully, needing to know the answer. “I understand if it is, and I’ve told Marco nothing can happen again unless you guys are okay with it.”
“Right now, I’m not okay with it. Can we think about it?
” Jensen asked, and as much as I hated not knowing, I nodded.
“Good. You need to rest your voice, so let’s think on it tonight and just put movies on for a chilled night.
I agree with Luke about the whole Marco unprotected thing though. I think you should get tested.”
It was a good idea, so I agreed, and despite everyone changing the subject to homework, I could tell everyone was a little on edge now.
If I’d ruined my relationship, that was on me.
