Chapter 3

“Hey,bro. Did you see your new stepsister?” Seven waggles his eyebrows. I saunter over to the pool table where the guys are at.

“Xay, baby.” Monica slides up next to me, and I wrap an arm around her. Monica is the president of her sorority, Beta Gamma Kappa. Our two chapters do a lot of charity work together, so they are around us often. The girls sort of just follow us around like puppy dogs.

More like waiting to suck our dicks, but whatever works.

“Yeah, I saw her. She ran out of the house when my dad asked her about why she chose her major. Did she come back here?”

Dekker shakes his head. “Haven’t seen her come back.”

“Who, that ugly ass?” Ivy cackles from the kitchen island as she pours more of whatever she’s drinking herself to death on.

“Ugh, yeah. What a whale. Girl could stand to lose a few hundred pounds,” Ella, one of the other girls that hangs with us, says.

The girls giggle at the expense of my new stepsister. Monica breaks away from me and joins her sisters.

Dekker, Seven, and I are part of the Sigma Xi Delta fraternity. I’m the president of our chapter, Dekker’s my vice president, and Seven’s our secretary. We are legacies. Our fathers were Sigma Xi Deltas back in their day.

Last year, a rare occurrence happened. Both the president and vice president of our frat graduated early. They graduated in the winter, leaving their positions early on. Since no other senior wanted to step into that role, a decision was made to vote in juniors as the heads of the frat.

And here we are. Of course, being legacies helped.

Ignoring the girls and their cattery, I turn back to the guys. “So she didn’t come back here?” I ask.

“Nope. We saw her leave, but she didn’t come back. Where do you think she went?” Seven looks at me and raises a brow.

I shrug. “No idea. Don’t really care either.” I run a hand down my face. “Do you know my father paid for her college?”

“What? Why?” Dekker stands up from his shot on the pool table, appearing taken aback.

I shrug in response. “I had to work my ass off to save for college. Work for scholarships and shit. She waltzes into town and he basically hands her a college degree paid for.”

“You think she and her mom are after your dad’s money?” Dekker asks, fidgeting with the pool stick.

“Maybe they’re being greedy. I have no clue. This entire time, I had no idea my dad was seeing June, let alone up and marrying her. But I guess my dad talked to Aurora often. She mentioned how he talked about me. Yet he kept me in the dark,” I huff.

“Maybe he didn’t want to upset you. Or feel like he was trying to replace your mom,” Seven offers up.

“I didn’t even know my mom.” A sharp pain slices through me.

She never got to know me. She died after my birth.

I add, “Doubt it was that. You know what? Who the fuck cares? Obviously, he’s in love with June. What the fuck ever. Rack ‘em.”

The guys and I begin to play a game of pool, but my mind keeps drifting to my stepsister. Despite what the girls say, she’s actually beautiful. No, she isn’t a stick figure. She has curves, her fucking tits are huge, and that ass. Internally I groan at the thought. I won’t lie, I enjoyed watching her leave when she stormed out of dinner.

If she wasn’t my stepsister, I would so hit that.

Her black hair with her pink highlights, fuck. She has these beautiful grey eyes that just reel you in. Aurora is really beautiful.

Again, too bad she’s my stepsister. So, my dick needs to be kept in check.

“Hey, earth to Xayden? You break.” Seven smiles at me like he knows why I am lost in thought.

These guys are my brothers. And not just because we’re brothers in a fraternity. I’ve been friends with them since I was little. We just found out that misery loves company.

Seven Reed is, well, strange. He was born on July seventh at seven in the morning. On the dot. So his mother thought it was only right to name him Seven.

His parents even divorced when he was seven years old, the divorce finalized on his birthday. The number seven is often considered lucky, and it has a definite mystique. Seven truly fits his name.

Seven started hacking into computers at a young age. In school, he would hack the system to change his grades. He would hack the schoolteacher information and send porn magazine subscriptions to the teachers we hated.

The amazing thing was, he was never caught. The kid can hide himself like the best hackers in the world.

Then there’s Dekker West. He is not a man I would want to be up against in anything. He’s a crazy motherfucker.

After college, his father got into some bad shit around town. Instead of using his degree of whatever the fuck he got, he became president of a motorcycle club out here and is currently still sitting in prison on a life sentence for the murder of some politician or something.

Dekker was still inside his mother’s stomach when his father was arrested. While the club was broken up, and some members arrested, his mother did what she could to raise him and try to keep him out of the spotlight.

Eventually, townspeople forgot about it all. Fast forward all these years later, and he makes his own waves.

His entire body is covered in tattoos, and he looks like he should be part of a club. He spends his time in the gym, turning himself into a fucking beast.

But no matter what, these two are my brothers. We have bonded under crazy circumstances, and we will continue to be there for each other for the rest of our lives.

“Aw, someone’s been crying,” I hear Monica say behind me.

Turning, I see Rory standing by the door. Her eyes are red, and I can see the tear marks from her crying ruining her makeup.

Her eyes meet mine as if she’s silently asking me to help her, but instead, I put my stick down and lean against the table.

“Poor little baby. Did someone hurt your feelings?” Ivy laughs.

I see her fists clench at her sides, breaking away from looking at me. “It’s none of your business.”

“You know, no matter how much black you wear, we can still see how fat you are,” Monica throws at her.

If I was a good stepbrother, I would stop this. She isn’t fat. She just moved to a new city. It’s a lot to take in. Except I’m not a good stepbrother. And my dad is paying for her school, so she’s going to have to learn how to fight her own battles.

She and her mom disrupted my family.

My dad hasn’t so much as talked to me for longer than five minutes these days. He’s been so wrapped up in his new wife, his new life.

So fuck Rory.

“Well, no matter how many times you shove your finger down your throat, you will never be trophy wife material. Fuck off.” My eyes widen at the comeback as I watch Rory walk past all of us and run upstairs.

Turning to Dekker and Seven, I can see them trying to hold back their laughter. Monica is fuming from not being able to get the last word in.

Well played sis, well played.

“I think our senior year is going to be filled with shenanigans,” Seven chimes in.

“You may be right, Sev. This may be the best year yet.” I smile at him and glance back at the girls. They, I’m sure, are planning their revenge on whatever that was supposed to be.

They won’t take being called out lying down.

My sister just put herself in the crosshairs of the meanest girls on campus. And I don’t really want to miss the fun of what they are going to do to her.

Maybe it will send her back to where she came from.

I practically bounce in excitement as I look at my brothers.

We have a new toy to break.
