3. Alex
Chapter three
Alex
I would be lying if I didn’t say the world stopped when Officer O’Connor entered the bar. My breath stopped, and my eyes could only focus on her. It was intense, as if the world had started and stopped with her. I had never felt that way before; honestly, it was terrifying.
Her beauty was unimaginable, from her long auburn hair to her blue/green eyes and her plump lips that I could see wrapped around my cock. She was sitting at maybe 5’5”. Short, but she was strong. You couldn’t tell by her body type; she was lean, but it was clear she worked out regularly.
A woman with muscles has never turned me on! But the way she manhandled the shit out of a drunken Smith was sexy as fuck. That was also some shit that I will never let him live down!
So, what is the only thing my mind can think of after she takes Smith to the cop cruiser? Her!
I got an Uber to take me to the police station. Yes, I am taking an Uber to the police station; desperate times call for desperate measures! And I am a man desperate to know Officer O’Connor’s first name. Maybe she will agree to a date; if not, I’ll just take the first name and go for more later. Fuck, why am I even worried about a date and getting to know her better when I leave soon? This girl has gotten into my head!
I stood outside the station for almost two hours. I sound pathetic, but I wasn’t paying for another Uber to leave when I had already spent money to get here. So, I light up a smoke and scroll through social media to see what is happening in the real world. I hate all the bullshit that is on social media; the only reason I have it is to keep up with friends and family when I am gone.
As soon as I hear the click and the squeak of hinges –that could use some WD-40– I look up from my phone, take another drag of my cigarette, and smile. Good god, she is gorgeous! Her pale skin glowed under the streetlamp, her eyes shining from the moon, and I would recognize that red hair anywhere! I adjust my pants, which are now significantly more uncomfortable, and scream out, “Hey! Officer O’Connor!”
After much convincing, she agreed to have dinner —or was it breakfast now, given how early it was? Who fucking knows; all I know is it’s a win in my book to have this gorgeous woman sitting across from me at this shitty diner; that smelled like pancakes, coffee, stale beer, and body odor. The only people here are drunks trying not to have a hangover the next day and truckers who are stopping for a quick bite.
“I have never been here,” Officer O’Connor said, looking around.
“This is where I go to get waffles when I am drunk and need to soak up the alcohol.” I looked at her slowly, trying to gauge the situation before revealing my whole personality. Many people have told me that I'm a lot to handle; I like to think I'm just enough for the right person.
“Also, it would be cool to know your first name so I can stop referring to you as Officer O’Connor.” A small chuckle leaves my throat in embarrassment. Why the fuck am I embarrassed? That’s not a thing I do! What is it about this girl that is catching me off guard with everything I am doing? This was supposed to be just an attempt at a casual hookup before I left again.
“My name is Olivia, but watching you squirm while you call me Officer O’Connor is funny, so I thought I would enjoy it a little longer.” She has a mischievous grin on her face. Man, she has a smart-ass mouth on her. I would love to spank the smart ass out of her!
“What can I get you two this morning?” The waitress asked, shaking me out of my thought of Olivia’s ass being red with my handprint. I have to shake my head to get the dazed look out of my eyes.
Olivia looks up to her first. “Yeah, please, I’ll have a black coffee and some bacon.” That’s it? That’s all she will eat after a complete shift of work?
“I’ll have the same,” I tell the waitress. She winks at me and then heads to the next table.
“So tell me, Alex, what do you do for work, and how do you know Xander?” I knew this conversation was coming. How do I know the crazy drunk who punched an old man first? “We are both in the Marine Corps,” I said, giving the basics. I don’t want to scare her away too quickly. They run as soon as I tell anyone I am a Marine. That, or they want to get married yesterday. Being in a relationship or married to someone in the military is not for the faint of heart. We are always shipped off to do stuff at random times. But people think the benefits are worth it. That's why you hear about a lot of spouses getting cheated on while there is a deployment.
The waitress brings us our cups of coffee and a large silver thermos filled with more coffee, then turns around and walks away. I grab the thermos and give poor Olivia and me some coffee before she asks, “So, what do you do in the Marines?” I look up from my coffee. “We are infantry, so we are boots on the ground and rifles in hand, kind of Marines.” She looks at me with shock at that answer as she takes a long drink of her coffee.
“Mmhmm.” That’s all you got? Mhm, is that all you can think of to say?
“Yeah, it’s a demanding job; I assume you would know about demanding jobs since you are a police officer,” I say sarcastically and laugh after to make sure she knows I am joking.
The conversations went on for two hours. We talked about random things, everything from our childhood to tonight’s crazy incident to her love for being a cop. It was nice, relaxing, and comfortable.
When we finally decided we both needed to get some sleep, it was around 4:30 a.m.
I have a feeling that one of the guys will call me in two hours to ask me what’s going on with this out-of-nowhere deployment. I don’t even know where we are going. Maybe LT will know what’s going on. Being a part of such a small group of people, you get close to all of your coworkers. I guess it’s time to face this shit show.
“It has been an amazing morning. Thank you, Olivia, for gracing me with your presence for breakfast.” I take a dramatic bow to her, curling one arm in front of me and the other behind me like a knight would do.
Olivia rolls her eyes and chuckles at me. “Thank you for inviting me out, Alex. It was a great time.”
I pull up my Uber app to get a ride back to the house. Of course, this early in the morning, there is barely anyone driving, so I will have a thirty-minute wait. I look up to Olivia, who is watching me intensely.
“Do you want me just to give you a ride home?” She asks with a smirk on her face.
“Yeah, that would be great. I will give you some gas money.” She laughs and shakes her head at me.“It’s okay; you don’t have to give me gas money. I really don’t mind.”
Wow, she is even cuter when she smirks! This girl is something else.
When we return to the station to get Olivia’s car, we walk up to a new black-on-black Cadillac XT6. I swear, this girl keeps getting better and better! I can’t even comprehend my thoughts right now. Overwhelmed with awe.
I whistle out, “Nice Car.” This car screams sexy car for a sexy lady.
