Epilogue
ETHAN
Iwatched Moira play with the new edition to Rowan’s Keep, a joyful small fox she named Ember. The not quite a vampire laughed, her dark hair streaming behind her like a banner as she ran barefoot across the grass.
“She’s beautiful, isn’t she?” Evie asked.
Rowan was over talking to Declan and Hope. Evie had elected to stay behind for some reason. She and I had never been on the best terms, but the little flower psycho was growing on me.

I snorted. “Moira has made her boundaries clear. I’m choosing to respect them.”
“As you should,” Evie said. “You don’t have to violate them to heal the hurt you caused.”
“I’m not the man she needs.” Why I admitted that I had no idea. Evie proved surprisingly easy to talk to.
“Maybe one day you will be.”
I looked at her. “She’s dating your father.”
“I’m well aware.” She reached for the pitcher of iced tea and refilled my glass. “But my father is not her mate, is he?”
