19. Reece
Reece
Reece paced up and down the living area with Squirt tucked under his arm and a worried look on his face. Daddy had been gone for too long. Something wasn’t right. In fact, each second that went by was like a dagger in Reece’s heart as he worried that he might never see Faustino alive again.
“Oh, Squirt,” Reece said, his bottom lip trembling. “I just wish I knew that everything was going to be okay. I really, really, really need to know that Daddy is coming home safe and sound.”
With the sound of the city outside humming in the background, Reece decided that he couldn’t hold on any longer. He needed to do something. Reece didn’t know what, or where, or even how… but he was going to go out and find his Daddy!
Reece scooted from the living area back into the bedroom and was about to change out of his pajamas and into some clothes when he heard banging on the apartment door.
“Who the…” Reece whispered, suddenly terrified that the banging was from one of the bad people that Faustino was at war with. “Squirt, what shall I do?”
Reece instinctively got down on all fours and looked around for a small crawl space he could squeeze into and hide until the banging stopped.
Come on, come on.
There must be somewhere.
I’m only small…
But as Reece frantically crawled around looking for somewhere to hide, he became more and more desperate as the knocking got louder and more frequent.
“Oh no, oh no, oh no,” Reece panicked, eventually deciding to sneak up to the door and peak through the spy hole to at least see who it was trying to get in.
And as he scurried toward the door, Reece suddenly stopped dead in his tracks. Perhaps those weren’t angry knocks on the door after all…
“Guys?” Reece giggled, hearing the unmistakable laughter and sass coming from the other side of the door. “But…”
Reece opened the door to the sight of Benjamin and Kyan, both with huge smiles on their faces and big bags of treats in their hands. And as excited as Reece was to see them, it did leave him a little bit confused.
“Wait… aren’t the Daddies… but I thought…” Reece said, struggling to speak as both Kyan and Benjamin hugged him and jumped up and down, the treats flying across the polished floor. “This is cool and all, but…”
“We won, silly!” Benjamin hollered.
“Our Daddies are the big bosses forever!” Kyan added, a tear of joy running down his cheek. “And we just had to come here to celebrate like BFFs!”
Reece squealed with delight.
But his happiness was interrupted by the sight of three dark, brooding, and dangerous men walking into the apartment…
Reece felt his heart skip a beat, and then another, and before he knew it he was being swept off his feet by none other than his Daddy, Faustino.
“Daddy! Daddy! You won!” Reece exclaimed, smiling and whooping with joy as Faustino held him and spun around with him in his arms. “That means everything’s okay again.”
“It sure does,” Faustino said, kissing Reece on his forehead. “Well… we’re still in the business of being Fendis. But it’s as safe now as can be expected.”
“I know, and I don’t care,” Reece giggled. “I just want to be with you, Daddy. I’ve never met anyone who cares for me like you do. And I love you so much too. I love you, I love you, I love you. Please can I be yours Forever?”
“I was just about to ask the same of you,” Faustino said. “If you’re happy to be with me, then I would be honored to be your Forever Daddy. Of course I would.”
“All the way,” Reece said, happiness filling his heart and Faustino’s tender kiss sealing the deal from that moment and for the rest of their lives.
But if Faustino and Reece thought that they were going to be allowed to have a long private moment then they had other things coming.
Soon enough, Faustino’s party was bouncing to the sound of music, drinks, and merriment as the three Fendi Daddies and their Forever boys were partying the night away and celebrating their triumph.
For Faustino and Reece, it was a night to remember in more ways than one. But more than anything else, it was the night they said out loud what they had felt on a deeper level since they first met.
There would always be challenges for Faustino and Reece to battle against. Be it running the city’s criminal underworld or rising up the ranks as an actor – the pair of them would never need to look hard for their next mission.
However they would always have one another to fall back on should times get tough.
Through good times and the bad.
For Faustino and Reece, it was love. And it was forever .
