11 | ☕Atlas Valtieri-Coffee EnthusiastAnya Enthusiast? ☕ #2
Anya's hands curled into fists at her sides. He can't possibly be serious.
But as the seconds stretched, it became clear. He wasn't going to back down. The CEO stood there, eyes fixed on her with a look that was equal parts amusement and annoying certainty. He wasn't answering her, and that silence was louder than anything he could have said.
Anya's stomach dropped.
"Oh no."
Her heart skipped a beat as the weight of the situation hit her like a ton of bricks. This wasn't some small decision. Atlas wasn't just playing around anymore—he was seriously considering it. Hiring himself into her café.
Before Anya could spiral into full-blown panic, a group of particularly bold customers cautiously approached Atlas.
It was as if the entire café had collectively held its breath at the sheer audacity of their request.
Anya could feel the weight of the moment pressing down on her, and her heart began to race, every beat loud in her chest.
The tension in the café was so thick, it could've been cut with a knife.
"Um... M-Mr. Valtieri?" One of them asked, their voice shaking slightly. "I know this is kind of crazy, but—c-could we maybe... get a picture?"
The words hung in the air like a ticking time bomb.
Anya froze. Her body went stiff, her mind scrambling for something—anything—to do, but nothing came to mind. She could only watch in horror as the rest of the café held their collective breath, as if waiting for a verdict from some higher power.
The entire café went still.
Atlas, ever the embodiment of control, paused in his movements.
He glanced at the customers, the faintest glimmer of something like amusement flickering in his eyes, before slowly turning back to Anya.
His expression remained completely unreadable, his features as sharp and impossible to decipher as always.
Anya's body automatically reacted, her hands flying up in exasperation. "Hey, don't look at me, I'm not responsible for this!" she practically shouted, half-laughing, half-panic-stricken. She was drowning in the bizarre spectacle unfolding around her.
Atlas stared at her for a long, agonizing moment. The air felt heavy, almost like it had stopped moving completely. The café waited with bated breath. It was like the entire world had narrowed down to that one piercing gaze.
Finally, with deliberate slowness, Atlas took a sip from his coffee, his eyes never leaving Anya's.
The customers shifted nervously, their earlier excitement beginning to fade into the uncomfortable silence that only someone like Atlas Valtieri could command.
And then, as if the world had suddenly decided it was time to move again, Atlas placed his coffee cup down with a soft clink. He signed, his hands moving gracefully, each motion smooth and measured.
The customers, who had been holding their breath, practically exploded with joy.
Their faces lit up as if Atlas had just given them the golden ticket to some magical world.
The nervous tension evaporated, replaced by a wave of exhilarated excitement.
They were over the moon, like they'd just been handed a once-in-a-lifetime chance.
Anya, meanwhile, stood there, still in a daze.
She blinked, the situation hitting her full force.
She had just witnessed Atlas, a man who could ruin businesses with a single look, shut down a crowd of people trying to take pictures of him—like it was nothing.
And then, he had just... caved for the coffee orders.
Kaia leaned in, clearly savouring every moment of the chaos unfolding before her. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she whispered, "You realize what's happening, right?"
Anya, still in a state of utter shock, blinked rapidly, trying to wrap her mind around the bizarre scene she was now a part of. "What?"
Kaia's grin widened, practically glowing with satisfaction, as though she were in on some secret that Anya was still too oblivious to grasp. "He's not here for the coffee anymore."
Anya's confusion deepened, and she shot a skeptical look at Kaia. "What do you mean? He literally—"
But before she could finish, she turned to look at Atlas.
And that's when the world seemed to slow down.
Atlas was standing there, calm and unruffled as ever, his tall form leaning against the counter.
His fingers, long and elegant, were loosely wrapped around the edge, as if he was waiting for something—anything—but his attention was focused entirely on her.
The coffee he'd ordered? Completely forgotten.
The bustling café? Indifferent to him. He wasn't looking at the crowd, wasn't interacting with anyone else. No, Atlas's gaze was fixed on Anya.
His eyes, sharp and unwavering, locked onto hers.
There was no warmth or coldness—just an intensity that made Anya feel as though she were the centre of his world.
She couldn't look away, and for a moment, she forgot to breathe.
It wasn't just a glance; it was as if he were studying her every detail.
She could feel her heart race, as if the weight of his stare was pressing down on her chest.
His expression was unreadable, but the stillness in his posture—the way he was so completely absorbed in her—sent a wave of unease through her.
The usual quiet menace of Atlas seemed to have shifted, but to where? Why?
Anya's pulse quickened, and for a fleeting second, she thought maybe Kaia was right. This wasn't about the coffee.
It wasn't even about the café.
It was about her.
She wasn't sure if she should be flattered, freaked out, or both, but she felt an undeniable tug deep in her stomach—a strange, magnetic pull that she couldn't quite explain. This wasn't normal.
And yet, it felt like it was. Like it was meant to happen.
Her thoughts swirled, but she didn't have time to sort through them. All she could do was stand there, frozen, her gaze meeting his. Atlas didn't look away, didn't even blink. He was watching her like she was the only thing that mattered, the only thing he saw in the room.
The rest of the world, it seemed, had faded away.
