CHAPTER 33 - Bryan Trevor
When the night has come
And the land is dark
And the moon is the only light we'll see
No, I won't be afraid
Stand by me – Ben E. King
The sound of boots announces my entrance and when I pass through the door, entering what I believe to be the bastard's room, I find Gavin, tied to a chair.
Dominic is beside him, leaning against the headboard, looking bored.
“I stopped the bleeding from the bullets because I knew you wouldn't want him to die from hemorrhaging.” I smile at his words.
Dominic is turning out better than I expected.
And much crueler than I imagined at first sight.
“You did right, but now I need you to get the backpack that's in my car, check how things are in the front house and if Travis found his sister,” I instruct and he stands up, passing by me and disappearing from the room without saying a word.
“What do you want?”
I turn my attention to the despicable worm when I hear the question.
“Who would've thought that the all-powerful Gavin Black would be cornered like a rat in a trap.” I approach a little, feeling satisfaction invade me.
The moment I've been waiting for years has arrived.
When I'll make this son of a bitch pay for everything he did to us.
When I'll show him how to really finish off a human being.
“You won't get out unscathed. My men will kill you,” he spits the words, furious.
A laugh escapes from the back of my throat.
It's fascinating to face him this way, but it will be even more delicious to witness every nuance of his pain.
Every scream and expression of terror.
“Do you really believe that, Gavin?” I arch my eyebrow, still smiling. “They couldn't when they were under your command, imagine when you're dead?”
He ponders my words and I see fear flicker in his expression.
“What do you want to let me go?” he lets out and I almost roll my eyes.
“Don't start begging for mercy now. It's pathetic, because I haven't even started what I intend to do,” I mock, crossing my arms, letting my presence fill him completely.
Let him understand that he won't get out of here unscathed.
That he'll finally pay for every atrocity he committed in this shitty life he had.
“Everyone has a price. Tell me yours,” he retorts, impatient, as if he were still in control.
But he's not and never will be again.
Gavin won't leave this place, not alive!
“My price is seeing my girls happy and guess how that will happen?” I lower my face, casting a cruel smile in his direction. “With you keeping the rest of your scum company in hell,” I complete and watch him try to control his rage.
“Disappear from this city and I'll never look for you again,” he responds and I shake my head negatively.
That's not how it works.
Not at all!
“I don't make deals with rapists and fucking pedophiles.” His eyes widen at my words and I stop in front of him. “I finish them off, destroy every little piece, forcibly rip the life from their bodies, Gavin.”
“Are you just going to stand there watching?” he grumbles toward his daughter.
I step aside and look at her.
Noah is leaning against the door.
“Yes and I'm going to enjoy every second of what Bryan's going to do to you,” she responds, opening a satisfied smile I've never seen her display.
Noah smiling is beautiful, but her smiling cruelly is even more perfect.
“You bitch...” His sentence doesn't complete, because the moment I understand it, I turn and my fist hits his face with precision.
The body wobbles along with the chair, making the thud of the fall echo through the four walls.
“Don't you dare open your filthy mouth to disrespect my woman, fuck!” I snarl, pulling him up again, letting him see every spark of hatred in my irises.
The old man doesn't grunt, doesn't complain, just stares at me, trying to control his rage.
He knows that provoking me will only make things worse.
What he hasn't understood yet is that it doesn't matter what he says or doesn't say.
I'm going to torture him in the worst possible way anyway.
“Let's negotiate,” he tries again, spitting blood. “It's better for both of us.”
“Let's,” I respond and see the glimmer of hope in his gaze. “What do you think I should do first? Pull out your teeth one by one? Cut off your rotten dick? Rip off your head? Peel your skin?” With each new suggestion, the color drains a little more from his face.
That's it...
That's what I like...
I want to witness every nuance of your fear.
“A beating…” Noah’s voice carries over to me, and I watch her approach, coming to a stop beside me. “With his belt. The same one he used to beat me until I was covered in marks.”
Her words turn to fire inside me.
And they fan the flames of a desire for revenge that’s been burning inside me for years.
“Don’t do this. God will punish you, make you burn in the depths of hell.” He has the audacity to appeal to religion. “Everything I did for you was to bring us closer to salvation, to a beautiful, eternal life.”
“LIES!! You used faith and religion to commit abuse, you sick piece of shit.” She spits in his face and I smile with admiration.
“I was a child, just a child, and you still hurt me and would have done the same to Sadie.” Her words come out fractured, but I don’t interrupt because I know she needs this.
“You were going to bring her to this place and abuse her until she couldn’t take it anymore!
” I watch almost in slow motion as her fist connects with her father’s face.
“I wanted to break every bone in your body, but I’ll let Bryan do that because I don’t want to have to touch you again. ”
“Can I take the belt?” I ask, and when she shakes her head, I pull his head back, keeping his face away from hers.
Noah quickly removes the belt.
“Thank you, my love,” I say as she hands me the belt. “And don’t worry, I’ll avenge every atrocity he put you through.” I press a kiss to her forehead.
“Everything’s under control.” Dominic strolls in humming, and we step aside. “The girl’s already with Travis, and everyone who tried to stop us is dead.”
What delicious news.
Soon this place will get the ending it deserves.
Just like Gavin Black.
“Is anyone alive?” Noah asks.
“A few, but yeah,” he responds with a mocking smile.
“And they won’t give us any trouble?” I ask, clenching my jaw, not wanting any threat near Noah.
“No. They were here against their will. They came because their parents were convinced by this bastard.” He points at Gavin, then tosses the backpack my way. “Have fun! When you’re done, we’re ready to go.”
“Bryan…” I look at my girl again. “I’m going with him to see Brittany.”
“Be careful! Stay close to Dominic because I don’t trust anyone here, even if they claim to be a victim.”
“Okay.” She smiles and I lean in, pressing a kiss to her lips. “I’ll be waiting for you, but don’t rush,” she jokes, pulling away and disappearing with Dominic.
“Now it’s just the two of us,” I hum, opening the backpack and dumping its contents onto the bed.
Pliers.
Cleaver.
Knife.
Scissors.
Lighter.
Scraper.
Ropes.
Among other things I always carry with me.
“She’s gone, name your damn price!” he begs, and I can tell his desperation is growing.
“You know, when I met Noah, I was shocked by the things she told me.” I turn to him, and the color drains from his face when he sees the gardening shears in my hands.
“How could a father starve his daughter, lock her in a basement, beat her, and even force her into a marriage with some random man? Worse, abuse her?”
“I did everything for salvation,” he responds, and for the first time, his voice trembles.
“Then start praying, Gavin Black.” I close the distance in two steps. “Beg for salvation, because you’re going to need it.”
“That’s not how it works…”
“So it only works when you’re raping women, you worm?” I snarl, pressing the shears against his throat.
He swallows hard, and I savor the fear screaming from his face.
I want to tear his throat out, but death would be too easy, so I hold back.
“Please…”
“If you move, I’ll slit your throat,” I threaten, pulling the shears back from his neck and starting to cut away his clothes.
I shred through his shirt, pants, underwear, and it takes everything in me not to rip off his dick when he’s completely naked in front of me.
Not yet.
It’s not time.
I go back to the bed and grab the belt.
“Start praying…”
“Bry—”
“Now!!” I hiss.
“G—” The moment the first letter leaves his lips, the rest is swallowed by the crack of leather against his skin. “Ah!!” he screams, and the sound fuels my arms with even more strength.
I bring the leather down again.
He screams again, crashing to the floor with the chair.
Once more.
He howls, trying to curl up, but the restraints won't let him.
“You've taken God's name in vain too many times,” I shout, relishing the sight of his bloodied body.
“This is just the beginning, Gavin. This beating is just a taste of the pain you're going to feel for everything you did to my girls,” I roar, and the crack of the whip against his body fills me—fills the entire room.
I should record it to use as music, but I won't. After I send him to hell, I don't want anything that reminds me of this bastard.
He'll be erased from this planet.
He'll become nothing!
I lash him repeatedly, striking different parts of his body, watching him crumble in agony as the wounds multiply.
I only stop when there isn't a single inch of skin left unmarked.
I step back and return to the backpack.
His grunt of pain follows me.
I grab a horse sweat scraper.
The rubber is gone, but the blade gleams under the light—razor sharp.
“Just end it,” he begs when he sees the object in my hands.
No.
Not so fast.
Not when he spent years hurting Noah.
I approach, but after just one step, something up ahead catches my attention.
“Bryan… Bryan…” he screams when he sees where my eyes land.
I walk past him, heading straight for the back wall.
Two hooks hang there with ropes dangling from them.
Did the bastard plan to torture or abuse women while they hung standing?
