Chapter Fourteen
Charity
I love him so much it hurts. I’ll do anything to be back in his arms again. -Charity
The beefy guy with the skull tattoo on this forehead paces the floor. His name, from what I gathered, is Vulture. He, unfortunately, seems to be the smartest of the group. At least he’s smart enough to be scared shitless. That bodes well for him.
There’s no way in hell Silver isn’t getting me out of this. I glance over at Cowboy and the other dumbass Bulldog, who are currently playing cards and laughing like they don’t have a care in the world. And those guys are dead for sure.
A television blares from across the room and Cowboy and Bulldog occasionally laugh loudly at something Adam Sandler says on it. Vulture walks back and forth in front of me with a gun by his side, periodically swearing to himself.
I rub my hands together. The ropes binding me are tight as hell. There won’t be any getting out of those. I try not to jiggle my feet. The dumbasses left my feet unbound. That might be my saving grace.
What these guys don’t know is that in the years since Cowboy took me last time, I’ve learned things.
I’ve learned how to save myself. Not only do I know that Silver will be here soon, but I know that I can protect myself.
If only I had Silver’s training before, I never would have been abused. I never would have been so defenseless.
That thought bothers me. I never want to be helpless again. I never want to be the victim again.
I cock my head to the side and study Vulture. Maybe he could be the key.
“You know this is like, the dumbest plan on Earth, right? Goading two MC presidents to bring the force of their crews against you guys? You have three guys. They have thirty, at least.”
I see Vulture’s eye twitch and know I’m on the right path. He doesn’t reply though.
“There’s no way in hell Silver or King are letting you get away with this. Stage a mutiny with a hostage in tow?” I roll my eyes towards the ceiling. “I can’t imagine anything more stupid than that.”
Finally, Vulture turns towards me. His dark eyes narrow.
“You don’t know what you’re talkin’ bout, bitch.
We have other guys.” He gives me a slow, sickening smile.
“Guys on the inside. Soon as those fools come for you, they’ll turn.
They’ll make sure they pay. Pay for what a bunch of sissies they’ve turned the Royals into.
Protecting women and shit.” He sneers and approaches me.
I try very hard not to vomit as he uses one hand to stroke the side of my neck down to my breast.
“There aren’t enough traitors in the world to keep you from dying, you fucker. You’ll see. You’ll see once Silver gets here.”
Vulture leans down to breathe in my face. His face is fiery red and the skull on his forehead is crinkled as he gives me a hard look. “You know nothing, bitch! You’re going to die just like King! Just like Silver!”
The other guys are paying attention now. I glance over to see them approaching.
“You idiots! You don’t know what you’re doing!” I kick out, firmly kicking Vulture hard in the shin. He grunts and leans over. I kick out at him again. “And you! You have really bad oral hygiene! Your breath stinks! Try brushing once in a while!”
I stand, hands still bound behind the chair. I know I look like a crazy woman.
I hear the click of guns around the room. And I know without looking that it’s not just the bad guys with the guns. Help has arrived.
I barely have time to dive down before the gunfire erupts.
