Chapter 6 #2
“We could kill her. Like you said, she signed the contract, she knows it’s a risk.”
“We could.” Sylas’ voice has both of them looking over. “But she’s from one of the higher families. It would cause waves.”
“Higher families?” Jasper growls. “Please. Her father was married into this world. His bloodline doesn’t even have any connections. It’s her mother’s that does, and she’s dead.”
“True,” Sylas agrees. “Still, my uncle is already on my back enough as it is. The last thing I need is for him to have a legitimate reason to try to take my place as head of the family.”
Sylas’ father died two years ago, and as his successor, Sylas took his place as the head of the Reid family. That makes Sylas one of the youngest CEOs in our society, and puts him in charge of his father’s pharmaceutical company. In addition to his rightful spot in the Brotherhood.
It’s a big responsibility, and despite his carefree, funny guy demeanor, Sylas takes his job very seriously.
“Fine, whatever. Can we just get this over with? We have an early flight tomorrow,” Jasper huffs, crossing his arms over his chest. Crouching down, I bring up my phone and snap more photos. My favorites are the ones with all three of them.
“Where is she, anyway?” Wesley asks.
Sylas looks down at his phone before returning his attention to the guys. “She’s on her way.”
“Let’s go make sure everything is set up.” Jasper steps into the mausoleum, the other two follow after.
As soon as they’ve all entered, I let out a heavy sigh. “I can’t believe this is happening," I mutter. I should find her and kill her. Can’t fuck someone who’s dead… right?
Oh god, is that something they’re into? I mean, I'm not one to judge, but I’ve been around dead bodies my whole life, and trust me, nothing about them is a turn on. Plus, the smell! Ugh.
The distraction of my inner ramblings makes me miss Scarlett’s arrival. Just in time, I see her take a quick look around before stepping into the mausoleum.
Fuck. There goes my opportunity. What do I do now? Sit around and wait while they do god-knows-what to her?
Thinking about them inside her makes me want to puke. But I do like the fact that they will be calling out my name and imagining it’s me when they do it. I wish I could see her face when she realizes it’s me they want and not her. The satisfaction of it might be worth it.
Of all the nights to not have Skittles cam-ed up. Damn it.
Well, I could always go find a drink.
Nah. I’d rather stay in control with a clear headspace. If I were to drink, I might give in to one of those intrusive thoughts.
Instead, I decide to walk around and read the names and dates on each gravestone, at least the ones that are still legible.
It feels like hours by the time I wander back to the mausoleum.
The door is now cracked open, but I’m pretty sure it was closed when I left. Shit, I missed them leaving. They must have returned to the party.
Stepping out from the shadows, I start to walk away when I hear a loud sound coming from the direction of the mausoleum.
My head snaps to the side, fear of coming face to face with the guys after they just fucked another woman freezes me in place.
But it’s not the guys. It’s Scarlett.
“Holy fuck,” I breathe out. My eyes open comically wide as I take her in. The girl looks like she was brutally attacked.
The bright moonlight casting over her is enough to see the state she’s in.
She’s only in a bra and thong, her creamy skin all cut up as blood weeps from her wounds.
Her hair is a mess, and as she stumbles closer, it appears chunks of it are missing.
What the fuck did they do to her?
You know what, I don’t care.
A rush of happiness floods me as I realize they messed her up real good. Bad things happen to bad people, and I don’t have one ounce of remorse for reveling in her pain.
She notices me standing there and stops, her whole body tense.
“You!” Pure venom drips from the word as she sneers at me with recognition. “What the fuck are you smiling about?”
“You look rough.” I can’t help but laugh a little when I say the words. “Did you get into a fight with a bear?”
“Fuck you,” she spits.
“Not even if you paid me.” I grin, crossing my arms. My eyes take her in slowly, noticing the bruising on her neck. My lips twitch as I tilt my head to the side. “Was it worth it?”
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” She glares at me.
“I think you do.”
A smile curves her bruising and busted lips.
“You know what? It was worth it. It was the best sex of my life. I came so hard, and so many times. They gave me pleasure beyond compare. You should have seen them, Nola. The way they worshiped my body, like I was their fucking queen. They couldn’t get enough, and they loved every moment of it. ”
“Sure looks like they did… something to your body, but I wouldn’t call it worship,” I snort.
“You’re just fucking jealous it wasn’t you,” she snaps back.
“I mean, you’re not completely wrong,” I say with a shrug.
Her eyes widen in surprise at my admission.
I’ve always denied my attraction to the guys, knowing it would only give the other students more ammo to fuck with me.
“But I don’t think I’d be too happy about the fact that they would call me by another girl’s name.
Tell me, Scarlett, how did it feel to hear my name while they were inside you?
Tell me how you felt when you realized everything they were doing to you were things they wished they were doing to me.
That is, until they fucked you up. They really did a number on your hair. ”
I watch as her chest heaves with every breath. She’s pissed, and I bet if she could walk properly, she would pounce on me right now.
“You’re fucking pathetic, Nola. The only name they were calling out was mine as they filled me up, over and over again, pumping me full of cum.
” Her lips twist into a nasty mockery of a smile.
“Wanna know a secret? I lied to them when I signed that contract. I’m not on any birth control.
One of their babies could be growing inside me right this very second. ”
My ears start to ring, rage boiling inside me with every word that spews from her vile mouth. Lies. It’s all fucking lies. They would never want her for anything but the quick fuck she was used for tonight. They’re mine. My fucking men. Not hers!
“I’m going to be the one who gives them an heir, to stand at their side, who runs the whole fucking Brotherhood. You’re just some freak who lives in the shadow of the greats, wishing it were you.”
My nostrils flare, and my body trembles with fury. She can see that her words are getting to me, and she laughs before she continues.
