Chapter Twenty-One
All three tensed as they rounded the last curve and up the driveway, to see her stepfather already there, waiting.
After they parked, Aiden slid out, helped her down, and took her hand.
The three walked toward the limo where her stepfather arrogantly stood.
“There she is. I’ve missed you, princess.”
Both men blocked him from touching her.
“This is a courtesy,” Malik said. “You may speak with her right here with us or leave.”
Edward turned red. “She’s coming with me.”
Aiden shook his head. “No. My wife isn’t going anywhere.”
They waited until that sank in.
Aiden thought the man would have a stroke. Waves of anger radiated from him, and his face turned purple.
Aiden handed him a copy of the marriage certificate, and they waited while he read it.
“Your wife? That’s impossible.”
Malik grinned and crossed his arms over his chest. “Why would you say that?”
“Because she’s mine,” Edward said.
Aiden watched the smile slide from Malik’s face and almost grinned.
Malik took a threatening step toward the man. “She was never yours, you sick fuck.”
Aiden bit his lip when Camila gripped the back of his shirt, and he could hear her try to stifle a giggle.
“Now see here. You can’t talk to me like that.”
Malik snorted. “You’re on private property, so I could shoot you and get away with it.”
“You’ll regret this,” Edward said and hurried back to the car.
Malik took the door away from the chauffeur before he closed it. “Give me a sec, man.”
The man bowed and got in the front seat. Malik bent forward so he could see Edward and was surprised to see her mother. He looked directly at her. “Do you want to stay with him?”
She looked dazed, and he wondered for a second if she was drugged. She looked back and forth.
Malik sighed. “You are always welcome here, so you’ll always have a place to go.
Just call us. Also, remember he can’t keep you in his house against your will, and it’s illegal if he threatens you.
” He dismissed her and focused on Edward.
“You, I’m only going to say this once. If I ever see you on our mountain or around our wife again, you’ll regret it, unless invited.
I might mention that both Aiden and I were in the Navy and have seen and done some shit you couldn’t imagine, so taking care of you would be child's play. We could cut you into little pieces and hide them, and no one would ever find you.”
Edward's eyes bulged. “She can’t be married to both of you.”
“Maybe not in the eyes of the law, but in the eyes of God, we are.”
Malik was surprised and pleased to see a spark of life shine in Camila’s mother's eyes. It was the first sign of life he’d seen from her, and he almost thought she was a robot the way she moved. She actually looked pleased with the information.
“Go on home, Edward. You’re not wanted here.” Malik said and slammed the car door.
The three watched as the car turned around and drove off.
Malik heard a squeal and whirled around just in time to catch Camila.
“He’s really gone?”
Malik chuckled and pressed a hard kiss to her lips. “Yes, baby. You never have to worry about him again.”
