GRIMM

Verena’s been sleeping soundly for hours. We came home and I washed off every inch of her body before giving her one of my old t-shirts and a pair of sweats. Her eyes instantly shut after our conversation ended and she’s been sleeping like a fucking rock ever since. I don’t want to move and disturb her peace, but I wanted to get a head start in mutilating Leo. I know she said she wants to be involved but personally, I think the action of murder was enough for her psyche for now.

My phone begins buzzing, taking my mind away from dipshit’s soulless body. Dad’s face and name light up my screen. Another invite to another dinner with people I don’t want to fucking be near. I’ll let it go to voicemail.

He leaves a message and my phone pings, notifying me, but then begins buzzing again. Verena stirs and I’ll be damned if I let the slightest pin drop disturb her rest. Her breathing returns to a soft, steady pace as she rolls over and out of my arms. I use the chance to leave the bed, creep down the stairs, and answer the phone.

“Hey, dad. What’s going on?” I ask, but we both know why he’s calling.

“My boy! How are you? I feel like it’s been forever since I’ve heard your voice.” He cheerily greets me.

Usually, I decline his dinner invitations through text. The RSB has always given me an excuse to miss. But I don’t want to hear the disappointment in his voice because I’m flaking, again. “I’m good, dad. Just been busy with school and The Brotherhood. Emmett’s been keeping my schedule filled with extracurriculars too.” I add with a tired chuckle.

“That’s good. Listen, I wanted to talk to you about dinner this weekend.”

There it is.

“I know it’s been hard building a relationship with your siblings but I think you should come home. It’ll be good for you, Grimm.” He says, his words as unconvincing as the first time he gave me this speech. “I’d love to see you, too. You’re still the baby after all and I’m tired of family dinners without my boy. So don’t try to find an excuse to get out of this one. Come for your old man if not for anything…or anyone else.”

Sighing, I drop my head. Being around my brothers and sister does not sound like a fun way to spend my Saturday night.

In fact, I was planning to spend this Saturday night buried to the fucking hilt inside the little monster snoozing peacefully in my bed.

“Alright. I’ll be there. I’m bringing someone.” I answer.

I’m met with silence for a moment before dad whispers his response. “Is it a special someone?” His tone returns back to normal before continuing. “Because that would be wonderfu-“

“Yes. She’s special.” I cut him off. “We’ll come by just for dinner. Once the plates are clear, we’re out the door.”

“Alright, alright. We’ll start with dinner. I can’t wait to meet her. And I know Flame can’t wait to see you, either.” He states and my heart swells at the thought of my baby girl.

My Flame. I’m excited to see her too.

A warm sensation came over me and suddenly I was actually looking forward to visiting my family.

Gross.

But also, kind of nice?

The realization of what I’m bringing Verena into hits me and it’s not nice or gross. It’s collateral. It’s diabolical. We just got together, there’s no way she wants to meet my cracked out, fucked up family.

But I don’t think I’d be able to go alone. Being with her felt right. Being with her feels right. I never want to be without her for as long as I walk this shitty earth. She gives me the strength to do things I wouldn’t normally do.

You’d think that means stringing her ex boyfriend up by the meat on his back would be out of the norm, but it's right up my alley. What’s really out of my norm is having my fucking dream girl in my bed and after she meets my family, she’ll be running for the hills.

I sneak into my room and softly close the door when a voice startles me. “I’m awake, no need to be quiet.” My spine stiffens and so does the little Grimm in my pants. Her voice awakens something in me so insatiable and uncontrollable. I quickly adjust myself before turning around. “Where’d you run off to? Took care of Leo without me?” She asks.

Scoffing, I walk past the bed and towards my dresser, changing into clothes that I don’t care about to do just that. “Actually, my dad called to invite me to dinner with my family this weekend. I told him you’re coming.” Her face drops at the proposition of meeting my family so soon.

A smirk grows on my face and I continue. “Yeah, I’ll give you the laydown before we go. Dinner with the Griswolds is a lot similar to, how do you say, telenovellas.” I grab a hair tie and slip my hair into a ponytail.

“Oh! Grimmy’s bilingual, who would’ve thunk.” Her eyes shift to my hair, “How cute. I’ve never seen you rock a pony before.” Verena giggles.

Giving her an eye-roll, I toss a middle finger and a wink her way, then respond. “Ponytails are strictly for cleaning up dead bodies. So, you coming or not, monster?”

There’s a thick silence in the air and when I make eye contact with her, I see she’s removed the sweats I gave her earlier. Slowly, she grabs the hem of my shirt and begins to raise it up and over her arms. Her breasts peak out of the bottom before spilling out, her body on full display for me. “Am I?” She whispers, her siren eyes reaching the depths of my soul and pulling me closer to her.

My feet are moving me to the bed and I’m nodding my head slowly. Who am I to deny my little monster of what she wants? I’m here to make her every wish come true. That doesn’t stop with Leo’s death. That’ll never stop. I am hers forever. There’s no length I wouldn’t go to make her happy. As long as the day ends and she has a smile on her face, I know I’ve done my job.

I make it to the bed in record time and her hands are on me, removing my shirt and sweats. Her palms roam my torso, feeling the curve of every muscle. She wraps one arm around my neck and her fingers thread through my curls. Pulling me close, our lips brush and sparks of electricity flow through my body.

Fuck, I hope she feels the same way about me. I don’t want to rush her but shit, all I want is her.

My arms envelop her body and I lean on her, our bodies flush with one another. Our lips touch again and this time, there’s no stopping. Her tongue tangles itself with mine and she tastes like candy canes on Christmas. My hands roam over her soft skin, worshipping every inch. I don’t want this moment to end, but I have a dead fucking body to clean up.

Pulling away, I sigh and shake my head. “That body will start decaying and I don’t want to be around it when it does.” Verena pulls back but doesn’t look nearly as disgusted as I thought she’d be.

“Strangely, I do.” She laughs. “Only because it’s Leo.” The smile drops from her face and she looks deep into my eyes while speaking again. “Does that make me a horrible person?” Her pupils shift back and forth, studying my face for any hint of a fabrication in my response.

“I think it makes you human, little monster.” Standing, I extend my hand and pull her off the bed. Chest to chest, I grip her chin between my thumb and forefinger, bringing her face inches from mine. I kiss her nose softly, then move to her lips. “I’ll make you forget all about it later on, I promise.” My voice returns to its normal octave, “Until then, how about I distract you with all the wonderful details about my family? You have a lot to learn today, young grasshopper.”

“Yes, Sir.” She breezes past me, into the bathroom, a sly smile on her face and those slender fingers slightly grazing my bulge.

Fuck, there’s nothing in this world I wouldn’t do just to see that woman smile. To make her truly happy. You better fucking do it all, Grimm. No stone left unturned.
