CHAPTER 58

Sharon

Debra came again, and Sharon waited until she crashed down onto the bed before she pulled out, or rather, Debra’s movement pushed her out.

“That was amazing,” Debra said. “And I cannot go again, so it’s your turn.”

“Really not a problem,” Sharon replied, and when Debra rolled over, she moved on top of her.

“I like role-playing with you,” Debra shared.

“You do?”

“Yes. Have you done that before?”

Sharon shook her head and replied, “No, I just kind of went with it.”

“Well, you should go with it again.”

“Oh, yeah?” Sharon kissed her. “What would you like to role-play next, then?”

“When we get to your place, maybe we can look up some, I don’t know, costumes.”

“Why wait? We can do that while we’re here. I don’t think Nia would care about us using our phones or your computer at this stage.”

“I have plans right now,” Debra stated and rolled them over. “You make me insatiable; you know that?”

“I do?”

“Must be the whole dating a younger woman thing. Am I a cliché now?”

Sharon laughed and teased, “I think you might just be a cougar.”

“Hey, I didn’t seek out a younger woman. You just appeared.”

“Maybe I’m a cougar hunter, and you’re my prey, then.” Sharon smiled up at her.

“Sharon?”

“Yes?”

“I’m going to fall in love with you,” Debra told her. “I might be falling already.”

Sharon nodded and said, “Ditto.”

Debra looked at her as if she didn’t believe her, so Sharon cupped both of her cheeks.

“I want costumes, laptop movie-viewing, coming home to you smelling like coffee, and that dream vacation in the English countryside, okay? All of it. I want it with you.”

Sharon kissed her again, and Debra’s hips began rolling down into her.

She still had no idea how she had gotten this lucky.

She knew she would have some explaining to do back home because Debra wasn’t who her friends and family would expect for her partner, but Sharon didn’t care.

She was falling in love, which wasn’t like her.

She didn’t just meet someone and fall in love.

She’d thought she would need time to really build a connection with someone and that this week would be a good start with whomever she met, if she met anyone at all, but here she was, with Debra on top of her, stroking her clit slowly while she sucked on her nipple, and Sharon knew she wanted her and only her.

Having never considered herself to be a romantic, she was surprised by how much Debra brought it out in her.

She could picture all the romantic things she’d just mentioned and more.

She could even see herself coming home to Debra, who would be waiting for her.

Sharon would smell like the café, and Debra would pull her in close and breathe her in.

They’d make dinner together and do the dishes before lying on the sofa.

Sharon would have her head in Debra’s lap, and she’d tell her all about the bald guy with glasses who came in twice a day, always ordering six shots of espresso over ice.

“That’s twelve shots!” Debra would say. “How is he alive still?”

“No idea,” she’d reply as Debra ran a hand through her hair.

Sharon felt really happy right now and no longer even cared that she worked in a café instead of in tech, recruiting other people working in tech.

Of course, that was probably because she was here and not at work, and she’d go back to hating it the moment she clocked back in, but for now, she wasn’t worried about that.

“Yes,” she whispered. “Please, baby.”

Debra pushed two fingers inside her after hovering for a minute, and Sharon knew she’d come quickly.

It didn’t matter, she told herself. They didn’t have to say goodbye tomorrow.

They could do this again and again all week, back at her place, and while they were there, they’d plan their next trip to see each other, where she’d likely visit Debra’s house for the first time.

When she came, it was softly. The orgasm wasn’t overwhelming, but it was still perfect, and she held Debra to her body, not wanting to let her go until Debra finally had to pull out and roll off her.

“So, costumes?” Debra said into the silence after a few minutes.

Sharon laughed.

“Hey,” Gage said when she joined her in the den.

“Oh, hey. Shopping?” Sharon asked.

Gage laughed and replied, “Yeah. Nia said we could take whatever, right?”

“Right.” She laughed back. “So, I put some stuff I might take on the desk, but if you want something from there, you can have it. None of those have been used.”

“You know what I was just thinking?”

“What?”

“We’re about to take, like, twenty sex toys to an airport. I might have to check my bag this time.”

“This time?” Sharon asked.

“I didn’t on the way here.”

“You let your bag, filled with the stuff you brought here, go through security?”

“The guy’s face was priceless when he scanned it.” Gage laughed. “And I’m not ashamed. I like sex. I like using things sometimes. Nothing’s wrong with that.”

“Agreed, but still. What if they wanted to inspect your bag?”

“They would’ve gotten quite a show, I guess.”

“Babe, are–” Carrie stopped when she walked into the den and saw them. “You’re not taking all that. Gage, there’s no way we’d ever use all of that.”

“First of all, yes, we would. I have way more than that at home. Did you forget what I do for a side hustle?”

“No, I didn’t. But you have more than this?”

Carrie pointed to the pile of toys Sharon had set aside for herself.

“I do. And I can’t wait to show you all of them when you visit.

You can pick out anything you want, and we’ll start there.

This, however, is Sharon’s pile. She and Debra must be planning to get busy this week.

” Gage wrapped her arms around Carrie’s waist and asked, “Hey, do you want to try that lube tonight?”

“Gage, we’re not exactly alone.”

“Sharon doesn’t care. Do you, Sharon?”

“Nope. We’re literally going through sex toys right now to decide who takes what.”

“You’ve also slept with my girlfriend, so there’s that.”

“Shit. Do we need to talk about that?” she asked. “We can, but it was just sex. I promise, I have no–”

“It’s okay,” Carrie interrupted. “At this point, I’m just giving her a hard time. When she visits, I’m going to make her have dinner with my friends, one of them being my ex-boyfriend, so that should be fun revenge for me.”

“If he so much as puts a hand anywhere on your body, I’m taking him outside to kick his ass,” Gage stated.

“Okay, tough guy,” Carrie replied and kissed her. “Go shop. I’m going to see if Nia or the caterers need any help for dinner.”

“You’re not supposed to work the thing, babe. We’re paying for them to do that.”

“I know, but it’ll keep me busy.”

“You don’t want to shop with her?” Sharon asked.

“Nah. I’ll let her surprise me. Where’s Debra?”

“She said she’d be right behind me. I’ll go check on her. See you at dinner.”

Sharon left the toys in the pile on the desk and walked back down the hall. Their bedroom door was open a crack, and when she heard Debra talking, she stopped, thinking maybe Debra was on the phone with work, telling them she would not be in the office this week.

“I’ll see you at the cemetery when I get back, but I just wanted to tell you now,” Debra said.

Sharon covered her mouth with her hand but remained still otherwise for fear of being heard or interrupting Debra.

“I never thought I’d find someone, but I did,” Debra continued.

“I don’t know if she’ll want to meet you one day.

Actually, I do know – I’m sure she’ll want to come visit you with me.

She’s just that good of a person. I don’t know if I’ll be able to visit every week anymore, though.

I’ll be staying with her from time to time, and I don’t think it’s right for me to visit you as much if I’m with Sharon.

Not that she would have a problem with it.

I honestly don’t think she will, but I want to start over with her, and to do that, I have to at least, in part, say goodbye to you and give her my whole heart.

I’ll always love you, I will always miss you, and I hope I see you again one day, but I don’t want to be alone anymore.

” Debra chuckled a little. “I’m talking to the window, technically, but I hope you can hear me.

I’m happy. I’m not alone anymore. I found someone, like you told me to, and I think she’s the one for me.

I’ll still talk to you, but I’ll need to talk to her more and be there for her.

I’m already in love with her, which is crazy to me because it took me a while to fall for you, and you were–”

Sharon lowered her hand from her mouth and turned on her heels. She didn’t need to listen to Debra’s private conversation with her wife. That was between the two of them. Still, she smiled as she walked down the hallway. She was in love with Debra, and Debra was in love with her.

A few minutes later, when dinner began outside, Debra joined her, kissed her on the cheek, and placed a hand on her thigh.

“Everything okay?” Sharon checked.

“Everything’s great. Did you go shopping?”

“I did. I have everything in a pile in the den if you want to check it out after dinner, before I pack it all.”

“I trust you,” Debra stated.

“I trust you, too.” Sharon winked at her.

“Last dinner and last couples standing, huh? Or sitting, I guess,” Gage said.

“A toast?” Debra asked.

“Let’s wait for Nia,” Sharon suggested. “Where is she?”

“Right here,” Nia said and walked outside. “Sorry. What did I miss?”

“Nothing. We just wanted to have a toast before our final dinner here,” Debra said.

“To Nia?” Carrie suggested.

“To Nia.”

Everyone held up their glasses in Nia’s direction.

“To all of you.” Nia returned the toast. “And to love, the most important thing in the world.”

“Agreed,” Sharon replied, looking at Debra, and Debra smiled at her, looking like she’d just realized what she meant by saying that.
