Chapter 68 Faye

Iwatched as their figures vanished into the industrial building.

Fuck, finally! The sweat on my scalp was beginning to form.

There was no way in hell I was going to stay here cuffed to this damn bike.

I should have known Jax was up to something like this.

Vadon’s soul was mine and I would make damn sure of it.

I wanted to see the light vanish from his fucking piece of shit beady eyes.

I wanted him to look me in my eyes as I drained the very life force from his unworthy corpse.

Vengeance was mine. These motherfuckers killed my mother and tried to take my daughter.

I remembered my promise to Ma as my skin began to buzz.

I screamed out in frustration while I tugged on the cuffs, the metal suddenly melting upon my skin, not leaving a mark.

Yes, yes! That’s it, come on! I started to concentrate on my magic, the sweat trickling down on my forehead.

I knew I could use only so much before my magic faltered.

I needed to complete my initiation and fast. Fuck!

Tears began to build as my anger relished over me.

Come on, you fucking bastard! I tugged on the half-melted metal, almost freeing myself.

Suddenly, I heard a croak in the near distance above me. A raven appeared in the sunset sky, gliding in the air seamlessly before me. The strange dark-haired bird eyed me suspiciously. There was a glimpse of something familiar behind those dark eyes. I knew those eyes all too well.

“Rocky?”

The raven croaked again, landing on the Harley’s handlebars right before me, then dropped a silver key in my sweaty palms.

“Thank you,” I whispered in response, as the mysterious creature croaked once more and flew away. I bent so I could reach the key in my mouth, and I re-positioned it to be able to enter it in the lock. The unlocking click was music to my ears. My heart pounded in relief.

A moment later, gun shots and tormented screams began ringing out in the building. A doomed smile spread across my face. It was time, and it would be all mine for the taking. I could feel the surge of power spread under my skin, infiltrating my senses with fury and magic. A dangerous concoction.

I ran into the building, but couldn’t see much other than gun smoke.

I sneakily kept out of the Reapers’ vision so I could make revenge mine.

The mysterious raven appeared again and flew right into a dark narrow hallway.

The sounds of shooting and men wailing faded into the background.

I could hear muffled crying and began to follow the light noise.

My heart was beating hard against my chest, my senses heightened and ready.

I could see a man in a white button up shirt at the end of the hallway, the smoke clouding his face. The unrecognizable man began moving a bandaged woman across the hall as he pointed a dagger to her chest. The woman struggled in his grip, seemingly drugged.

I hid in the depths of the darkness, and I listened, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. As I turned to look this piece of shit in the face, my breath caught in my lungs like a thick cloud of smoke, shock seemingly overcoming me. It was Vadon and Penny.

The building rapidly filled with the foul odor of gun powder and death. As I came back to my senses, Whack! I felt my skull split in two as my vision began to escape me. Blood trickled down my forehead to my face, burning my eyes. Then darkness took me.

My vision came back to me in a blur of dimensions. I could faintly see Vadon standing over me. I tried so hard to cling to consciousness, my head pounding like a thousand wild horses hooves on the desert sand.

“You stupid fucking cunt!” Vadon bellowed as he began laughing deliriously. He slapped me across my face, causing my blood to pool in my mouth.

The iron, metallic taste flooded my taste buds.

“You’ve made it just in time, dear. For the sacrifice.

” He dragged me by my feet and I began to kick and scream as I tried to cling to anything I could, making the windows and mirrors shatter all over the cracked, cement floor.

Vadon clapped with joy. “It seems you’ve discovered some of your spell binding capabilities.

” He flashed his yellow-stained teeth at me.

Smiling wickedly, he continued, “Which means your power will bring me great fortune, you fucking filthy witch!” Vadon moved to pick up Penny as she struggled to stand on her own two feet.

“What did you do to her, you monster!” I wiped the blood from the corner of my split lip with my black torn sleeve.

“It seems Penny has missed taking her moonstone antidote.” Vadon laughed with lunacy as he dragged the stake to Penny’s heart. Penny started breathing rapidly while blindfolded and gagged.

“You piece of shit! You let her go! It’s me that you want!” I screamed and pleaded with him.

Vadon threw Penny to the ground like she was worthless.

“You’re right.” He crouched before me, bringing the wooden stake to my buttoned shirt and dragging the sharp knife down my chest, breaking each button, one by one.

“I did want you. I knew you would be a sacrifice after all. But, I didn’t expect you to make me fall in love with you, fucking whore!

” He grazed the pointed stake under my chin, and I winced at the sharp pain it left behind.

“You cursed me, you bitch. Made me obsessed with you. So much that it drove me to insanity! This is your fault, you were supposed to mean nothing, be nothing to me.” He took the stake off me, running his hands through his balding, thin brown hair.

“But you… YOU! You just had to make me love you, didn’t you?

Casting love spells on me.” He laughed in a sick frenzy.

“It’s why I couldn’t bear knowing you were with that disgusting low-life, Reaper. ”

This fuck really thinks he’s that special?

That I’d cast a lover’s spell to get him to love me?

My laughter swarmed around the large room.

The narcissism was still very much strong in this one.

“I never casted shit on you, Vadon, despite what you think. It doesn’t take much for a small insecure man to fall in love with a strong-willed woman.

All to just break her down. That’s your MO, isn’t it? ” I spat at him through my bloody face.

Maddening tears seeped from his evil eyes. “You will be sacrificed, you bitch! You are locked in here with me now. With nowhere to go.” Vadon looked so sure of himself.

It was adorable, really. “That’s where you’re wrong, Vadon.

” I looked up at him through my crazed gaze, my eyes flashing white as snow.

I could see the undeniable fear reflecting in his crazed eyes.

“You’re locked in here with me,” I said menacingly, my smile devilish as my malicious side came out to play.

A powerful gust of heavy wind began to form around me as my skin vibrated.

“Your little friend Avi made it very easy for us. Didn’t she, sweetie?” Vadon countered with a menacing smirk.

Devina walked in with her Chanel suit, looking pleased with herself. Not this weird bitch again.

I was ready to knock the head off this hoe.

I glanced over to check on Penny. She was still bound and tied on the ground.

I watched her chest rise slowly. She was still alive, but her breathing was becoming weak.

I was running out of time. My fingertips sparked with uncontrollable power, but this time I was no longer afraid.

Devina and Vadon kissed like feral teenage lovers as they sucked each other’s tongues.

“Oh, what the fuck is this?” I tried not to hurl my insides out.

“I knew you were sick, but this… this is a different low, even for you. This is a real ‘keep it in the family’ kind of situation, let me tell you.” Sick laughter overcame me as I let the fury build.

“You two are sick! I should have known you were always in love with your brother. You sick, nasty bitch!” I spit my blood on her over-filled puffy face.

“Half-brother, dear,” Vadon countered. He cleaned Devina’s face by licking my blood and spit from her skin.

Inevitably, I gagged in my mouth. “Oh yes, because that makes it so much better, you fucking freaks!” I could feel the bile rising in my coarse throat.

Rocky barged in ready to strike with a nefarious look in her eyes. The doors blew in with a gust of wind and surge of electricity, knocking the metal doors off their hinges. “Enough talking, assholes!”

Thank fuck she found us.

Rocky formed her hands in a chokehold mid-air, as Devina’s oxygen began slipping from her.

A morbid repetition of her movements began to take place.

I could hear the bones crumble and crack inside her esophagus.

Blood hemorrhaged from her nose and eyes, depicting a horrid sight.

Rocky lifted her bleeding and broken body mid-air, electrocuting her until she became a lifeless corpse.

Vadon’s cries and screams were like a lullaby in the background as he watched, helpless.

Devina’s broken, bloody, burnt body flopped to the cement ground with a thud.

“Imagine that? A size eight shoe.” I chuckled as my attention returned to Vadon, at the sounds of running footsteps down the hall. This coward was running. Gods, this was going to be so much fun.

“I’ll get Penny and the others to safety,” Rocky stated.

I nodded to her as she began walking to a disoriented Penny.

She ripped the golden locket-shaped vial from her neck.

“Drink,” she demanded, shoving the vile into Penny’s mouth.

She began untying her and ripping off the bindings.

Penny did not hesitate to drink from the small vile.

“There are no others, I’m the only survivor left.” Penny’s voice cracked, torment in her green eyes evident. “Make him pay,” Penny said, looking at me, exasperated.

There were tears in Raquel’s eyes as she helped a very disoriented Penny up.

Her battered wounds were beginning to slowly heal, yet they were still visible.

What had they done to her? Her white rosy cheeks spread across her face, as relief washed over all of us.

“I would kill the fucker myself, but I need to feed more.” Penny looked distressed and weak.

This was the beginning of my reckoning. My vengeance. For me. For Ma. For them. And for the ancestors before us. I would make him pay, for all the hurt he’s caused not only to me, but the people I love deeply.

Rocky walked over to me, concerned. “Are you sure you’re up for this?”

“Keep the Reapers out, I want to enjoy this,” I replied, my stance clear.

Rocky gave me a knowing smirk back. “You got it.” She began binding the doors and sealed them with Latin words and a small vial of black salt she took out from a small brown pouch she had hanging from her hips..

I walked past the threshold into a gigantic hidden room. The walls were covered, full of scriptures and images of demons, but I was distracted by a shuffle in the dark corner.

“I know you’re here, Vadon. What’s wrong? You don’t want me anymore?” Sinister laughs came from my throat. “You sent Avi to kidnap our daughter and she took my mother’s life in the process. And now, I’m going to kill you!”

My screams shattered all the demonic statues aligned against the shrine, where pictures of the women they killed all for power and wealth plagued my vision.

Tears stung my eyes. I could hear and feel their tortured pain, crying out in agony.

Their pain was too much to carry. Their souls held in the in between, not able to rest peacefully.

“She wasn’t supposed to kill her. It was a mistake. It was supposed to be you!” Vadon cried out from behind the thick long curtain, hidden by furniture. I moved the dresser with a flick of my wrist.

“Wrong witch!” I lifted Vadon in the air, and my eyes shifted back to white.

I felt the magic and hate spewing, crawling like spiders underneath my fuming skin, the power driving me mad.

The cries of all the victims were deafening, drowning any light out.

It left me in total, complete darkness with no way out.

The surge of power was so strong, it took control over my psyche.

“It’s all about balance.” Ma’s words rang through my mental harbor, my anger flooding the gates of my long anticipated vengeance.

Visions of Vadon’s words—like daggers, over the years crossed my mind—memories of the shoves, and the violent anger that terrorized me, the memories of him throwing my frail body by Birdie’s bassinet haunted me, retreating me into a dark descent as I let it surround me.
