Chapter 17
His tongue…
My mind began to run away with itself at his heady words, but he quickly filled in the blanks for my imagination.
“You’d already be so wet for me, just like you are now, but I’d take my time going down on you.”
I stifled an argument that I wasn’t wet for him, because I didn’t think I had it in me to lie convincingly.
Especially not when he brushed his lips against my earlobe, continuing to whisper, “I’d use the tip of my tongue to massage your clit, savoring the taste of you until your legs start to shake, though I don’t think you’d come from just that.
No, you’d take a lot longer, but I’d enjoy every moment of getting you there. ”
Heat pooled inside me. Just his voice, dripping with desire, was nearly enough to make me want him. He dragged his lips down my neck, nibbling at my skin as I tried to draw back the fractured pieces of my mind enough to argue with him.
When I finally got my voice to work, it was weaker, more yearning than I intended. “Y-you’re full of yourself. What makes you think you could do what I’ve never—” I stopped myself.
He pulled away from kissing around my collar and raised an eyebrow. There was genuine surprise in his voice as he asked, “You mean you haven’t…Ever?”
Truthfully, I almost wanted to see if he could do it. I huffed. “Fuck you. What would you do next?”
A grin flitted across his lips. “Well, once you were desperate and even wetter for me, I'd sink inside you, until every inch of me was completely buried.”
My heart stopped, then skittered in an irregular rhythm as my imagination completely betrayed me, forcing me to think about exactly what it would feel like to have him inside me.
Spirits, it would probably feel so damn good.
I saw the bulging outline of his dick easily through his pants.
I knew he was big—but no, he wasn't allowed to impress me any more than he already had.
He was a pirate, a Human. I had to keep reminding myself of that.
I tried to scoff to hide my building desire. “Don't say ‘every inch,’ like you're above average. How big are you, anyway?”
What's wrong with you, Zephra?
“I don't know. I haven’t measured myself. Want to try?” he asked, a confident smirk in his voice.
Of course I wanted to fucking try. I set my jaw and dragged my eyes down the muscled planes of his chest and stomach, to where his cock strained against his pants.
Since it sounded like an open invitation to touch him, I casually glided my hand down the same path my eyes followed, and rested my palm against him, trying and failing to cover his rigid length.
My hand honestly felt tiny compared to him…
I met his eyes, stroking him slowly through the soft fabric until his breath hitched and he had to bite his lip.
“Well…you're bigger than I thought, but you're still perfectly average.”
“You thought I'd be small?”
“Minuscule.”
The flash of annoyance that creased his brows melted into more heat as he swore and leaned into my hand. “Fuck, whatever you say.”
I was completely mesmerized. He had me just as feverish and needy as he was, and the way he pulled the strap of my nightdress to the side with his teeth to kiss my collarbone nearly drew a moan from my lips.
My traitorous body almost didn't want to regain control, but wasn’t this just a tease, one I could put a stop to at any moment?
“Reiven,” I gasped. “Didn't you call me—what was it?
Poison disguised as sugar? Yet here you are, tasting me as if you've never had candy before.”
Rei laughed softly and flicked his tongue beneath my dress, against my nipple. He hummed, as if he'd never known a sweetness like it before. “Maybe I enjoy indulging in a little sugary poison. Even if it's deadly, even if it makes me completely delirious. Now…where was I?”
“Burying yourself inside me,” I whispered, shocked at the whine in my voice as I forced myself to stop stroking him, gripping the pillow with both hands to keep my touch from wandering again.
Because now, nothing sounded more satisfying than digging my nails into his back, feeling those powerful muscles rippling beneath my fingertips.
“Right. I'd want to pound into you so hard you’d have to hold on to me to keep yourself from coming right then, taking you so rough that you scream my name for the entire ship to hear…but I'd hold myself back at the start. I'd be so slow and gentle until you pleaded for me to fuck you harder.”
Words. Didn't come.
I had to say something, anything. I couldn't just let him get away with making my face burn and stealing the breath from my lungs so easily.
His weight lay heavy and comforting on top of me, his delicious body heat penetrating the sheer material of my nightdress.
Hardly anything was left to the imagination for either of us.
I somehow shot him a weak smirk. “You wouldn't last two minutes, Reiven.”
“Probably. Best thirty seconds of my life, then.”
That had to be the sexiest thing I'd ever seen a man do, genuinely joking at his own expense.
“Well, you'd last longer than thirty seconds. But not longer than two minutes.”
“Such flattery from a Siren who hates me.”
Clearly, it was difficult for me to act like I hated him when I was imagining him going down on me, fucking me slowly like he loved me…I wrapped my legs around his waist, encouraging him closer, and Spirits, the way he ground against me nearly drove me crazy. “I'd be so tight around your cock.”
A victorious smile built in his heated gaze. “Say my name again,” he purred. “Truly moan it for me. Don’t fake it.”
“Please…Reiven…” Only the pounding of my heart and the ragged breaths we shared broke through the silence as he took in my needy voice, my body beneath him. “Like that?”
“Yeah,” Rei breathed. The energy between us shifted, along with the glow in his eyes, from dark hunger to…something else. Something I'd never seen before. “I'd tell you that you look so fucking beautiful beneath me…That you're taking it like such a good girl…”
I couldn't move, much less breathe. Reiven…he called me beautiful. Of course, Sirens are naturally beautiful, but hearing it from him gave that one word so much more power.
And…no one had ever called me a good girl before.
Reiven smiled and brushed some hair out of my face, then intertwined his fingers with mine, another gentle act that completely threw me. His hair tickled my forehead as he leaned closer. “Another thing you like, hm? Being called a good girl.”
All I could do was stare up at him, slowly giving him an enraptured nod that made him glow with pride. I was losing it. Losing control of myself, of this situation—faking emotions was my game, not his, but he was playing it so well that I was falling for his deceptions. Or…were they deceptions?
His gaze had grown so soft, some tender emotion had taken over the pure desire there.
“Feels like every moment I spend with you brings me closer to an edge, where I'm tempted to leave safety behind and jump into some void.
I don't know what's inside it…maybe sharp rocks and a crash landing. Maybe an endless sea of stars in a crystal-blue sky.”
My breaths quickened as he moved closer, eyes fixed on my parted mouth.
Is he going to…
For an aching moment, before my senses returned, I wanted him to do it.
No, no, no. He’s a Human. Pirate. Siren-hunter.
I stammered, probably a bunch of nonsense until my brain finally managed to put together words that spilled out of my mouth, completely out of nowhere.
“Y-you could come inside me.” I was word vomiting, desperate to keep him from attempting any kind of loving contact.
Luckily, it kept him from moving closer, since it took him so much by surprise.
“That…sounds dangerous.”
“It’s not. Nightwhisper’s owner put a Druinnic-enchanted implant in me, to prevent…
” I trailed off, nodding at the scar that marked the pale blue skin of my arm.
The implant had been a threat of Ipheri’s, that she would sell my body if I didn’t behave.
After the third or fourth time, I learned to stop biting Humans that paid for my kiss, because there truly were worse things they would do to me.
Just another reason to hate the Humans in my past. Reiven was a Human, so I hated him too, didn’t I?
Not when he furrowed his brows and tightened his grip on my fingers, like he couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “What?”
There I had gone, killing our playful mood, leaving me without a clue how to bring it back to life. Awkward silence settled over us, so I tried to break it with a teasing question.
“A-anyway, what about afterwards? I bet you’d leave as soon as possible to drink away your mistake of sleeping with a Siren.”
“You really think I’d leave?” he muttered. “Use you like some kind of toy, then disappear?”
No. He wouldn’t, and I wasn’t sure how I knew that with so much certainty.
“So, what, you’d stay in bed with me? You’d hold me close, staring deep into my eyes before kissing me?” I tried to give him a flirtatious smile, but it faltered at his serious expression.
“I might drown in the ocean of your eyes, but yes.”
Oh no…
I shouldn’t want any Human, especially not one that used to be a pirate, but my body was filled with a frantic desire to see Reiven make good on everything he claimed he’d do to me.
I wanted to feel him closer, rocking into me with the motion of the waves, meeting my eyes with such confidence as my smug facade slipped away.
Maybe he could make me feel all those things I never thought possible.
Perhaps I could forget I hated Humans long enough to see him become someone else—someone I couldn’t hate.
“Reiven…”
He was too close to me. I could still distinctly feel his arousal, his breath on my face. It seemed like he was searching for the right words to say, but he was back to studying my lips, as if I kept some dark secret between them he had to unearth.
