Chapter 2 - Archer
Fuck fuck fuck.
I pace around for half an hour before I go back to the lake.
She’s not here. Good. She’s smart. I don’t know what I’d have done if she stayed. I really wanted to get her out of the lake and into my bed.
I shake my head.
Love. That’s the first thought that occurred to me when I saw her.
The second was the realization how young she must be.
The third was to completely eliminate the threat by making her hate me.
She’s not from around here, I know that much. I’ve been at Lana and Cole’s place plenty of times and I’ve never seen her. She’s just passing by.
But before I acted on my third thought, I let myself linger. Like a creep. I’m already messed up from my time in the military, now this? Luckily, some of my moral compass bled through so I didn’t linger for too long.
I plunge into the cold lake water trying to get my mind off her, but all that’s on my mind now is that she bathed in these waters and somehow that means I get to have a piece of her if I stay in here for long enough.
