Chapter 24 Isla

ISLA

“Whose idea was it to do tequila shots?” I ask, wincing as I suck on the lime.

I’m on my third one, and I think I’m only going to need one more to take me from tipsy to drunk.

The club is busy with loud music and an energetic vibe.

We were set up at a VIP table, so we can sit up here and be in our own space.

It hasn’t stopped men from trying to approach us, though.

When we went for a dance, Patch and Romeo had to pull several men away from our group.

“I don’t know, but we need another round,” Xanthe says as she dances to a Cardi B song. She’s in a short red dress that fits tightly over her petite frame, and the way she moves is so sensual, I don’t blame all the men for staring.

“I’ll get us another round,” Ora says, waving over one of the bar staff.

Lu holds her hand out to me. “Come on, let’s go dance!”

Atiana grabs my other hand. I’ve never really had a group of friends like this, and honestly, it’s just another amazing thing Skull has given me.

We all dance in a circle facing each other, hands in the air, smiles on our faces. How do you explain a feeling like this to a man? I’m free, I’m happy, and I’m with my girls. Hands settle on my waist, and I spin around to come face to face with a tall man with brown hair. “Come dance with me.”

I shake my head. “No, thank you.”

Stepping out of his reach, he comes back into my space. “It’s just one dance, not a marriage proposal.”

And then he’s pulled away from me before I can even reply, Romeo grabbing him by his shirt. When he sees Romeo’s cut, he steps back, hands up in submission. No one wants to mess with the Serpents of Chaos MC.

“You okay?” Ora asks, and I nod. She pulls me against her, wrapping her arm around me. We dance for a few more songs and then head back to our table for another drink.

“I love you guys,” I announce after another two shots, and they all laugh.

“We love you too. We’re glad Skull found someone like you. Although we must admit, we thought you’d be with Bones too. We’ve been dying to ask about it but didn’t want to be nosy,” Lu admits, sliding closer to me. “And now you’re drunk, so I figure this is the best time.”

“I don’t even know how to explain this.” I laugh, shaking my head. “I know they usually share everything, but Skull and I fell in love. Bones doesn’t love me, not like that, and yeah, he’s obviously sexy as hell, but we don’t have that deeper connection like I do with Skull.”

“So you didn’t hook up with Bones at all?” Atiana asks, leaning closer to hear my answer.

“I didn’t say that,” I reply, and they all start talking over each other, asking questions.

Laughing, I say, “I’m not going to tell you all the details, that’s between us. But Bones and I are very close, and he’s a good man. I adore him.”

“You lucky bitch,” one of them mutters.

And then we do another drink to Skull and Bones.

“Did you all know the men are at Club Cobra?” Ora asks, scowling down at her phone. “War told me they are having a few drinks there, and then they’ll come here after.”

“What’s Club Cobra?” I ask, wondering why the women all look like they’ve swallowed something sour.

“Lore told me they were going there,” Atiana pipes up, wrinkling her nose. “I don’t love it, but I trust him.”

“It’s a strip club the club owns,” Lu explains, an evil glint flickering in her eyes. “You guys thinking what I’m thinking?”

“You want to go to Club Cobra?” Xanthe asks, sounding intrigued by the idea.

“Do you like the idea of Ghost sitting there watching women take off their clothes? One might be even on his lap right now, giving him a lap dance,” Lu says, laughing when Xanthe downs her drink and slams it on the table.

“Okay, let’s go. But someone might need to help me down these stairs.” She laughs, grabbing Atiana’s hand.

“Where are you going?” Patch asks, standing in front of the exit. He widens his stance and crosses his arms over his broad chest. The shaggy brown hair, hazel eyes, and tattoos all the way up to his neck don’t hide his baby face. He’s super cute, but he looks barely old enough to be drinking.

“We want to go to another club. Can you drive us?” Ora asks, not telling him which club.

They’ll message the brothers before we even leave here, and we want to catch them out.

Is Skull getting a lap dance? Why didn’t he tell me what he was planning on doing?

I mean, I’m not angry he’s there, it’s their club, and I don’t want to be controlling when all the other brothers are there, but he could have told me.

He wanted to come here tonight to watch over me, but instead, I sent him on his way to watch women with bigger tits than mine.

And I didn’t even let him fuck me before we left.

Romeo comes over and does a head count. They take their jobs very seriously, and I can see why. I wouldn’t want to get on the bad side of War, Lore, Ghost, Haze, or Skull.

Speaking of Ghost, he suddenly appears, catching Xanthe around the waist. “What are you doing here?” she asks, spinning around and jumping into his arms.

“Where are you going?” he asks, a deep scowl etched on his face.

“We’re going to Club Cobra, and not one of you is going to tell the men that we’re coming,” Ora states with her hands on her hips. Her blue eyes go to Ghost. “Okay?”

“Fine with me as long as you don’t run off and let us keep you safe,” Ghost responds in a deep growl. “Come on, let’s go.”

I guess we’re going to a strip club.

And Skull better not have his fucking hands where they don’t belong.
