Chapter 21

Chapter

Twenty-One

IVY

Iroll over in bed and feel the delicious soreness between my legs, making me moan for more.

“Shite, I’m an arsehole. Are ya hurt, Hen?” I shake my head but don’t want to open my eyes as the memory of him pinning me down and taking me as he owned me plays in my mind.

“I’m perfect,” I sigh happily.

I never thought I would find sex enjoyable, let alone crave it the way Milton makes me. Or maybe it’s the pregnancy hormones. Who knows? As far as I’m concerned, that was the best fucking moment of my life, and I want it again.

I raise my hand over the tiny swell of my baby bump, and Milton curses again.

This time, I open my eyes, annoyed because his guilt is ruining my joy.

“I promise I’m okay. We are fine.” I pat my belly, and I feel a kick and gasp, reaching for his hand.

“Feel. He’s happy, too.” Milton relaxes instantly and curls himself around me to rub my belly.

The baby kicks a few more times, and then my stomach rumbles.

“Feeding time. I can’t have my Hen and bairn starve. Let’s see what Nova stocked for us.” He stands and stretches.

I flip the sheets off and stand, then gasp when I find blood on the sheets.

“Milton,” I point, and he laughs.

“My back, Hen.” He turns around, and I find angry scratches, some slightly bleeding, up and down his back.

My eyes widen, and I shake my head, pointing at myself. I couldn’t have done that. I have no memory of even touching his back.

“You woke up and begged me for more earlier. You didn’t look awake, and I let you do what you wanted. If your night terrors are taking advantage of me every night for the rest of our lives, I’ll gladly bleed.” The way he smiles at me tells me how sincere he is in his statement.

“I fucked you asleep?” This was a new occurrence.

“You ravished me totally and completely.” He bends down and kisses me.

“I feel like I should apologize,” I say when he turns his back to open the bedroom door.

“Don’t ya dare. It was my absolute pleasure,” his voice dies off when he exits the room.

“What is it?” I ask and grab his shirt to drop it over my head.

“Not what, who. It’s about time you let him up for air, darling.” Abel grins from the couch, tosses a magazine on the coffee table, and stands like he’s been waiting for hours.

I glance at the clock and curse.

“When did you get in?” Milton crosses his arms, standing in front of the man proudly.

“Milly, you’re naked,” I whisper hiss.

“The kilt is the most mysterious thing he’s got going. Trust me, it’s underwhelming.” Abel takes a slow look from Milton’s toes all the way up to his face before smirking and blowing him a kiss.

I cover my face, mouth open in shock.

“Christ. We don’t need to have a bunch of metal in our dicks to satisfy a Lass.” He stomps into the bedroom before coming back out less than a minute later with a pair of loose gray sweatpants on.

“No, but it helps.” Abel tosses that last over his shoulder as he opens the fridge and starts taking out random items.

“What’s the baby craving?” Milton growls at the man clearly invading his territory,

“I thought a quickie a day kept the attitude away. Did you not do it right?” Abel looks over the rims of his glasses at both of us and hums under his breath before returning to the contents of the fridge.

“So does a good spanking,” Milton says, looking down at me, and I blush.

“Semantics, your Earl-ship. I’m here to help, and after the workout you’ve have, she needs fuel.” Oh, fuck this shit.

I am never going to be comfortable talking about sex in front of people like these two.

“Did you have to sit here and listen, you fucking perve?” Milton shoulder-checks Abel and takes over the planning of our meal.

“Pannini and soup?” My mouth waters instantly at Milton’s suggestion, and I nod.

“I gotta see how you youngsters do it nowadays. Plus, there was nothing on TV.” Abel shrugs, pulls an envelope out of his bag, and pushes it across the counter to me.

I opened it and pulled out a few photos.

I quickly flip through them and almost faint when I come to one that seems to have been taken from a window. It’s of me partially hidden behind Milton’s back, but half of my face is clear.

“No!” A tear falls down my cheek.

“I wiped it off the web as fast as I could, but it’s possible they found it.” Milton slams the pot off the stove and growls at Abel.

“And you know this how?” Abel sighs and sits down next to me.

“Ivan boarded a plane from New York to New Orleans an hour ago.”

I stand and stumble away from the counter. I glance around us, looking for a way to run and remembering I’m in a basement.

My vision narrows, and I hear Milton calling my name, but it’s a hollow sound. I reach for him, but his body shrinks and disappears into the darkness surrounding me. I screamed for him because all the lights went out.
