Plans #3

I tried to whistle to get Hurley back.

I failed.

“Hup,” Tanyn said.

Hurley jumped up.

I flung an arm around him.

He licked my neck.

“I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone this relaxed,” Tanyn noted.

“Mon. Spa. Best.”

He burst out laughing.

I was not so far gone I didn’t watch him do it, because I’d never seen him do it.

It was…

Farging.

Inspirational.

I lifted a hand and touched his lips with my fingers so I could feel it as well as see it.

He directed shining eyes to me.

“Your laugh is beautiful too.”

His eyes darkened.

And that was beautiful too.

“Talked to Zyr and Manny. Confirmed the weekend after next,” he told me after I took my hand away.

“Awesome.”

“They also want you to think about doing Dead Winter at Sigil.”

Oh dear.

“Just think about it,” he said.

“Mom and Dad and I do it up big.”

“They can come to Sigil too.”

I would love that.

I wasn’t sure they would.

But I totally would.

That said…

“Where would they sleep? And warning, Mom might be one with bunking with the Grenadiers, but Dad would not be, mostly for the reasons Mom would.”

He smiled but said, “I sent a team out to start the reno. I can get them to focus on a bedroom and bathroom first. We have two months. Plenty of time for them to do that, and a great deal more.”

He bopped my nose.

Bopped my nose!

Who was this male?

“Though, you have to get busy,” he said.

“With what?”

“They’ll need a bed to sleep on.”

And here we were.

I pushed up and affected a cuddle with a male canine and a male demon.

It wasn’t hard. They helped.

“Okay, I’m going to tell you something, but you can’t be a jerk about it,” I said.

“I’m never a jerk.”

I gave him a side eye.

“I’m rarely a jerk,” he amended.

I kept giving him the side eye.

“Right, I won’t be a jerk,” he said through twitching lips.

“I have a lot of stuff flagged already for the citadel.”

“Pardon?”

“Furniture. Rugs. Wallpaper. Material to make curtains.”

His brows arched up. “You’ve been designing the rooms in the citadel?”

“It was something to do to keep my mind off things,” I mumbled, not meeting his eyes.

“To keep your mind off me,” he corrected. “Doing something that would make you think of me.”

“You’re being a jerk,” I warned.

Then Hurley flew off the couch with a yelp because I was on my back and a king was on top of me.

He opened his mouth.

I put my hand over it. “Don’t you dare.”

His eyes danced, and that was bad enough.

He spoke against my hand, so I took it away to hear him finish “…relaxed to fuck?”

I didn’t need the first part.

“You’ll have to do all the work.”

His hands went up my sweater. “Not a problem.”

I knew it wouldn’t be.

His head started descending.

“Tanyn?”

It stopped.

“Thank you for coming down here for me,” I whispered.

Lightning struck his gaze right before his mouth hit mine.

And he gave me the best you’re welcome in history.

“This sucks.”

“I’ll be back on Friday.”

“This still sucks.”

“It does indeed.”

I was in Tanyn’s arms outside the lift.

My besties were due there in half an hour.

I’d managed to order the supplies so I had something to serve them. I’d also managed to text comm Mom and Dad to share Tanyn was there, and we were working through things.

I’m surprised and delighted, was Dad’s reply.

And you are one very lucky male, was Mom’s (I texted them together).

I left them to it and went back to Tanyn’s and my snuggle, watch-mindless-screen, eat-junk, have-sex-often (his stamina was legendary) weekend.

Which was now over.

Or at least that part of it was.

I hadn’t told my babes that we’d made up and were courting. They were going to be there soon. I could tell them in person.

But first, I had to say goodbye to my male.

And it was sucking.

“I’d have to check my schedule, but I could send the soni-jet one night. You can come up. Have dinner. Spend the night. And head down early so you won’t miss work,” he suggested.

Before I could jump all over that, he kept on.

“I know you like late mornings, but you can sleep on the jet on your return flight.”

“Tell me what night. I’ll arrange to leave work early.”

His face softened (fabulous) and he kissed me (more fabulous).

He then let me go.

Not fabulous.

“Call lift,” he ordered.

Oh, and yes.

I’d programmed him in so my system would respond to his voice commands.

So, yes again.

Our courting seemed to be going faster than our contract had gone.

This time, though, I didn’t mind.

Not a bit.

Hurley felt the vibe and whined, so I bent to give him a rubdown and promise him, “I’ll see you soon.”

He panted.

I gave his head an affectionate shake and went back to his daddy.

He had the strap of his overnight bag hanging off his shoulder.

I moved into his arms again.

“Hope everything’s okay with Gayle,” he murmured.

I did too.

“I’ll let you know.”

“Obliged.”

The lift opened.

I pouted.

Tanyn kissed me again.

Then he let me go and moved into the lift.

I stood and watched as he pursed his lips, and without hand movements, sent me a kiss.

Sweet.

Lovely.

Adorable.

Again.

Who was this male?

Yours.

I smiled and sent a kiss back.

The doors closed.

And he was gone.
