Epilogue 2

LUKE

Pushing my way out the doors of Atom’s Gym, I curse Jackson under my breath. “Go to Atom’s Gym, he says. It’ll be fun, he says. It’s a no-nonsense place to sweat and workout and not be bothered, he says.”

Annoyed, I kick a rock across the sidewalk as I stride through the summer heat towards my car.

I pull open my car door and just stand there, letting the heat waft out.

No, it’s not Jackson’s fault. But he did tip the first domino when he hitched his wagon to Katelyn’s star. And now my best friend is living his best life, enjoying the off season, and me? I’m becoming a miserable bastard.

I need a woman. I need to find a wife.

I mean, if Ash can do it, how hard could it be?
