Chapter 9
CHAPTER
NINE
A VIRGIN. HOW in the hell was the most beautiful woman in the world still a virgin at her age? It wasn’t like she was waiting until she got married. Georgia told him as much. He ate her out like her pussy was the last he would ever taste.
Fuck.
Was that her first time with oral?
Damn it. He wasn’t even gentle about going down on her.
But hell, her pussy tasted delicious.
The thought of some other asshole having the opportunity to go down on her and learn how sweet she tasted made him irrational.
“Are you listening?” Levi, a fellow firefighter, asked him, interrupting his thoughts of Georgia and how she sounded when she orgasmed.
“I need your input for the pre-fire planning. We also need updated building layouts for three buildings, access points for two other businesses, and anyone hired this year who hasn’t completed a walk-through on any high-risk structures. ”
Levi, much like Elijah, was a stickler for keeping everything up to date with the administrative tasks that went along with being a firefighter. But right now, Levi was extreme. Even if Elijah was only halfway paying attention.
“Scarlett is the only new hire, and she is aware of the required walk-throughs. She still has a month to complete this. Nash updated the access points, and he put the paperwork in Sam’s bin for today to revise our tracking system.
What three buildings need updated building layouts?
To my understanding, all of this was filed and part of our training last month,” Elijah rattled off.
Levi slumped in his chair. “Scarlett should get it done ASAP.”
“You do know I am the lieutenant here, correct?” Elijah sternly told him, lifting an eyebrow.
“The medical pavilion did some construction that finished up last week. Those are the three hubs where we need updated business layouts.”
The medical pavilion?
“I can check out the doctors’ office, if you want me to,” Levi offered.
“No,” Elijah answered brashly, causing Levi to angle his head in concern. “You can continue your audits here. I’ll head over to the pavilion and get their updated floor plans and any changes in access. Roman is doing some paperwork in the break room, so if you need anything, you can go to him.”
Grabbing his laptop and keys, Elijah headed out to his truck. He had a buzz of excitement to see Georgia at work. Something about her made his mouth water to see her again.
Even though nothing would come of it.
Hell, she was a virgin and deserved better than what he could offer her.
“I HAVE TEN more minutes until my break is over,” Georgia reminded her friends. Sophie and Anna crashed her lunch, and the three of them sat in the break room at work. She just informed her besties of what happened with Elijah.
Sophie flipped her hand. “I’m officially on summer break, so kicking us out can’t damper my day. Besides, we’re not leaving this room until we figure out what to do with your v-card.”
“Operation: Lose Virginity.” Anna giggled quietly even though they were alone and the door was shut.
“Maybe I should go back on a dating app?” Georgia wondered aloud.
“No!” Sophie yelped. “I have seen things I cannot unsee on those apps. You need to decide whether you want to lose your virginity to Elijah or if we should start going out more for you to meet someone?”
Anna patted Georgia’s hand. “What’s your gut telling you?”
“Or your vagina?” Sophie wiggled her eyebrows, which made all three of them laugh.
“You should let us set you up with someone.” Anna tossed out the idea.
“A blind date makes me want to vomit,” Georgia told them, nixing Anna’s plan.
“No offense, but agreed.” Sophie tapped her foot under the table. “What if we go to a ladies’ night at Lighthouse? You could meet someone there.”
Georgia bit her lip.
It made sense, but she was sure every man would fail compared to Elijah. His mouth pulled out the most passionate orgasm of her life. She had dreamed of him every night despite not wanting to.
“Okay, I’m going to ask the question we’ve been avoiding.” Anna grabbed the drink out of Georgia’s hand. “Be honest. Do you want to meet someone else, or do you want Elijah?”
Georgia groaned, dropping her head into her hands. “I hate it, but there is this magnetic pull to him. I don’t want to be so infatuated, but he’s all I think about.”
“I get it,” Sophie admitted, surprising all of them as she stared out of the window.
Anna pointed at her. “We’re definitely circling back to this. But right now, we are solving Georgia’s problem. Obviously, Elijah likes her since they have already hooked up. He just needs a little motivation.”
“I don’t want a man who needs motivation to be with me.” Georgia uncharacterlessly snapped. “I’m just going to wait for it to happen.”
“Like that’s done you any good.” Sophie refuted the idea. “You’re not becoming a hermit crab, staying inside to mope.”
“Who said I was moping?”
“You did when you kept throwing our ideas out the window!” Sophie called her out.
Anna smacked her hands on the table a few times as if she was a judge at court. “I have an idea, and I need you both to be on board.”
Then her friend mischievously shared a plan.
Georgia was sure of one thing: she was way in over her head.
ELIJAH WAVED TO Anna and Sophie as they were leaving the medical pavilion.
Most likely, they were visiting Georgia.
This was what he wanted, to see her again, but for some reason, he was nervous.
He was shaken by her virgin news. After he told her no, was she actively looking for someone else to do it?
If she waited this long, she should be with a man who could give her more than Elijah was willing to give.
The thought of another guy touching her made his skin crawl.
“Hi there!” Marquis, a nurse at the front desk, greeted him. “How can I help you today?”
Elijah glanced around but didn’t see Georgia. It was probably better off that way.
“Would you be able to get me the updated floor plans post-building renovations?”
“Marquis.” Georgia walked into the waiting room like a shining light. “I have a patient in room 5 who needs a tetanus shot. Would you mind handling that?”
Wow, she completely avoided making eye contact.
The nurse stood. “Absolutely. We have a firefighter visiting, and he needs our new floor plans. Would you get them for me? They are either in Dr. Collins’s or your office.”
“Per my brother’s request, I have it.”
“Great, I’ll handle the patient,” Marquis told her before walking away.
Georgia still didn’t peek at him but called over her shoulder, “Follow me.”
And like some lovesick puppy, he did until they stood in her small office. She shuffled through one of the drawers until she pulled out a red folder. With a huff, she slapped the folder on the desk.
“Is this for me?” Elijah broke the silence.
Sassily, she crossed her arms. “Yes. I made sure to put all the information the fire station needed in a red folder so it would be easy to remember. Red for fire, you know?”
“Clever.”
“One of us has to be.”
Her phone vibrated. She took it out of her pocket and read the message. Elijah wanted to hate whoever texted her and earned a grin, but he didn’t. She typed back, all smiles, and it was driving him crazy.
“Who are you texting?” Elijah had no right to ask because it was none of his business. But her smile provoked him.
She slipped her phone back in her pocket. “Adam, my date for tomorrow.”
A date?
The folder dropped from his hand, and paper fluttered to the ground.
It’s been a week since he made her orgasm, and she already had another man lined up. His dick was almost raw from how many times he’d jerked off to his memory of her crying out his name while he licked her through her orgasm, and she was ready to give it up to someone else.
This was fucking bullshit.
Georgia sauntered around the desk and picked up the folder with the paperwork off the floor. She smirked as she handed him the folder. “You can check everything in there, but Nash told me what the station requested.”
“Who the hell are you going on a date with?” He snatched the folder from her.
“Adam Loughlin,” she said as if she was bored while she checked her manicure. “Please feel free to call the office if you need anything additional. I highlighted all the changes, so it was easily digestible.”
This was all sorts of fucked up, and it had nothing to do with her attention to detail.
Why the fuck was she going out with Adam Loughlin?
She hoisted herself on the desk. “Oh, I also gave a bulleted summary of all of the construction completed, along with the city permit numbers which coincided with the approved work. Do you need me to give you a different breakdown?”
“No, I’m not fucking illiterate.”
Her phone vibrated again, and she read a message with a laugh.
Elijah was sure his limited tolerance was about to explode. “What’s so funny?”
“Just the girls giving me some advice for tonight,” Georgia answered with a flick of her wrist.
“Why do you need advice? Have you never been on a date?” He heard the edge in his tone as he clutched the stupid red folder.
She gave him a pointed look. “You are well aware of something I have not done on a date.”
No. Fucking. Way.
Elijah shut her door with surprising ease even though he wanted to slam everything around him. He was fuming.
“I said no to fucking you, so now you’re hopping off to the next guy?” Elijah growled his words.
“I doubt I’ll be able to hop in the heels I plan on wearing tonight.”
He dragged his hand down his face. “Adam is an asshole.”
“Takes one to know one,” she hit back.
Elijah stepped closer to her in the tiny space of her office. “Adam still gloats about how he won homecoming king, and he graduated with your brother how many years ago?”
“Eighteen years ago, but it might be charming.” She wiggled her eyebrows like this was somehow hysterical.
“No.”
“Elijah, you lost any opportunity to have an opinion on who I do or do not spend time with.”She stood and pushed past him, then opened the door to show him out. “I have another patient.”
“This isn’t over.”
Georgia said nothing as she walked away from him like that was the end of their conversation.
But it was far from it.
