Chapter 6

brANDON

Fuuuuccckk. The front door clicked shut, and I flopped back onto my pillow with a huff.

Damn, Lexi couldn’t get out of here fast enough.

I knew she said Daphne would kill her for hooking up with me, but that couldn’t really be why she bolted.

I mean, they seemed pretty tight, and Daphne seemed like a reasonable person.

If Lexi and I wanted to pursue something, I was sure she’d get over it.

Lexi made it pretty clear she wasn’t interested, but that was too fucking bad.

Now that I had a taste, there was no way I was done with her.

The next morning, I woke up and started my day as usual, with a hot cup of coffee and my sketchbook.

My dining room table overlooked a small park that was blanketed in a light dusting of snow.

I loved sitting there in the mornings to sketch or plan my day.

My morning routine also included staying unplugged until I had my coffee, a habit that I started a few years ago.

Before that, I used to get on my phone first thing in the morning and would get so distracted by life that my mornings felt rushed and stressful.

After starting this habit, I found my days started more peacefully.

But right now, wondering if Lexi had texted me was disrupting my usual peaceful morning routine.

I was sure she hadn’t, but I couldn’t stop thinking about her, so I grabbed my phone off its charger in the kitchen to check. Nope. Of course, she didn’t text.

I typed out a message.

Me

Good morning.

There. Simple. Not weird. Just a normal message to say good morning.

Right? Should I say something about last night?

She left so quickly. Maybe she was regretting it?

Maybe she didn’t have a good time? Not fucking possible.

I knew she enjoyed herself because I made sure of that.

My mind raced with all the reasons she could have run out of here last night, and none of them calmed me.

Maybe it was really because Daphne would be mad.

Me

I won’t tell anyone, if that’s what you’re worried about.

Me

I had a great time, though, and I’d love to see you again.

Shit. I needed to stop now. I was spiraling. My phone dinged with an incoming message, and I braced myself for her response.

Lexi

Bro, it’s 7 am. I’m asleep. Stop freaking out.

I chuckled. Yeah, I guessed it was a little early. Especially since we had a late night.

Me

Sorry… You left in a hurry last night, so I wanted to check in to make sure you were okay.

Lexi

I’m fine. The sex was great. We will NOT be doing that again, though. I’m going back to bed.

Well, fuck. She shot me down before I could even make my case.

I’d have to work on that tattoo idea for her.

That would give me a reason to message her again, and, hopefully, she’d still be open to letting me tattoo her again.

I put my phone down and opened my sketchbook to the place where I had left off yesterday.

Pale blue eyes stared back at me, and I quickly flipped the page to work on something else.

Something that would get me back into Lexi’s orbit.

By the time I put my pencil down, my coffee was cold, and the morning was gone. I was so lost in my work; I hadn’t noticed the time passing. I had a few afternoon appointments, so I packed up my sketchbook and got ready for the rest of my day.

In the shower, my thoughts drifted back to my night with Lexi.

She was perfect. Her ‘I don’t give a fuck attitude’ really did it for me for some reason.

My cock was hard again, thinking about her.

The feel of her pussy gripping my cock, her on her knees before me, the taste of her.

I groaned and gripped my hard-on firmly, stroking myself under the warm spray of the shower.

I pictured her in the shower with me, on her knees again, sucking my cock.

Moments later, I came hard against the shower wall with my eyes closed tightly, visions of Lexi consuming me.

I arrived at the shop after one o’clock in the afternoon.

My dad and Dylan were already there working on clients.

I gave them each a quick wave and a hello before heading back to my station.

My first appointment wasn’t due in until two, so I had plenty of time to set up and work on a few things before they arrived.

I unpacked my bag, laying out my sketchbook and pencil case. I wanted to work on Lexi’s tattoo a little more so I would have something to show her sooner rather than later.

“Whatcha working on?” My dad asked as he came up and sat on my station. I hadn’t even noticed his client had left.

“Oh, hey, Pops. Just something for a friend.” I answered somewhat truthfully. I mean, Lexi could be a friend.

He eyed my work. “Looks good. Where’s it going to go?” he asked as he leaned over to get a better look.

“I’m thinking it would look sick wrapped around her thigh.” I motioned to my own thigh, so he’d get a visual of where I was thinking.

“Oh, it’s for a girl friend,” he said, exaggerating the ‘girl’ part.

“Dad, I’ve tattooed hundreds of women. It’s not a big deal.” He was being nosey. Too nosey. It wasn’t a secret that I offered to work on a tattoo for Lexi, but he didn’t need the details either.

“But how many of those did you consider to be friends?” he asked. “Last I checked, you hadn’t had any friends of the female variety in quite a while.”

“Oh, give it a rest, old man, and quit busting my balls. It’s not that big of a deal.

Daphne’s friend asked me to draw something up for her when they came in last month for their matching tattoos.

” I had nothing to hide, so I told him the truth.

There was no way he’d know it was more than that, right?

“Mmmhmm. Okay, son. Whatever you say,” he said with a wink and then hopped off my table to head back up front. The fuck?

I shook my head and packed up my supplies. My appointment would be there soon, and I needed to stay focused on that.
