Snowbound Mountain Man

A late-day guide walks into Elyse's shuttle office with snow on his shoulders and flame tattoos along both forearms, hoping he has not missed the last ride down the mountain.

Elyse spends her days dispatching travelers toward better places while she never leaves, and he tells her himself that he is a drifter who will be gone before the lifts start.

A hiker then vanishes on the ridge as a hard storm closes in, leaving the man at her counter as the only one who can go after him.
