Chapter 10
Jamie
Jamie was trying to avoid Lucy’s gaze because he knew damn well he’d see something in those green depths that echoed inside him.
It hadn’t been a dream or his imagination.
It really had been that good with her. Because it was even better right now, his body joining with hers.
Nothing else mattered in the world anymore but chasing this high with her.
All the noise was gone. The hollow aching void.
But as if he was being compelled by something he couldn’t control, his gaze locked with hers and instantly everything was heightened.
He couldn’t look away. Didn’t want to. He was falling in, deeper and deeper but he didn’t feel as if he was drowning.
The opposite. He felt as if he was breaking the surface and sucking in great gulps of air.
Man. Sex with her was a trip. The orgasm broke over them simultaneously and Jamie almost came again just from the powerful pulses of Lucy’s climax, milking him dry.
How long had it been since he’d seen her again, appearing like a vision through the snow? Hours? Who cared. He was finally feeling a measure of peace and he was too wrung out to deny it.
