Chapter 19 — Blind Faith #2
He didn’t need to bind her hands. The command was the binding.
“Stay like this,” he whispered. “Don’t move your hands. If you move them, I stop. And I leave the room.”
The threat of abandonment was more effective than any rope.
She felt his weight on the bed. The mattress sank. He was over her.
But he didn’t touch her with his hands.
He touched her with his mouth.
It began at her left wrist, where her pulse beat against the pillow. He kissed the thin skin over her veins.
Maya arched her back, surprised.
He moved down her arm, kissing the inside of her elbow, her bicep. He was methodical. He was mapping her body with his lips, claiming every inch of skin in the darkness.
“You’re so soft,” he murmured against her armpit, making her shiver—half ticklish, half pleasure. “So responsive.”
He moved down to her chest. He didn’t touch her breasts immediately. He kissed her sternum, the hard bone between them. He kissed her ribs. He kissed her stomach, making her muscles clench.
Maya was floating. Without vision to anchor her, she was only sensation. She was skin, nerves, and heat.
“Ethan…” she pleaded, her voice a moan.
“What do you want?” he asked, his mouth hovering over her navel.
“Touch me. Please.”
“I am touching you.”
“More. I want more.”
“Patience is a virtue we’ll be working on, Maya.”
He moved lower. He kissed her hipbone. He kissed the inside of her thigh.
And then he stopped.
Maya waited. And waited.
Where was he?
Suddenly, she felt something cold and wet touch her left nipple.
She cried out in surprise, her whole body jerking on the bed.
“What…?”
“Ice,” Ethan said, his voice amused and dark near her ear. “An ice cube.”
He circled her hardened nipple with the ice. The sensation was a violent shock of cold, pain and pleasure mixed in a way that made her toes curl.
“Cold…” she gasped.
“And now…”
He covered her ice-cold nipple with his hot mouth.
The contrast was devastating. The temperature change sent shockwaves straight to her core. Maya moaned loudly, moving her hips, forgetting the rule about her hands and starting to lower them to touch his head.
“Ah-ah,” he warned, pulling away. “Your hands.”
Maya whimpered, forcing her arms back to the pillow.
“This is torture.”
“This is sensory education,” he corrected.
He continued the game. Ice and mouth. Cold and hot. Pain and relief. He played her body like a finely tuned instrument, extracting sounds and reactions she didn’t know she was capable of producing.
He used the ice on her neck, making her gasp. Used it on her belly. Used it on the inside of her thighs, getting closer and closer to her heat, but never touching where she needed most.
The frustration was becoming a painful physical need. Maya was wet, desperate, writhing on the satin sheets.
“Ethan, please,” she sobbed, the blindfold growing damp with tears of frustration. “I need you. Stop playing.”
“You need me?” he asked. He was hovering over her now. She could feel the heat of his body covering her like a blanket.
“Yes. Yes.”
“Do you trust me?”
“Yes!”
“Then open your legs. Wider.”
She obeyed.
She felt his hand. Not the ice. His hand.
His fingers slid inside her.
Maya cried out, her back arching off the bed. He filled her. He knew exactly where to touch, how to curve his fingers. He was relentless.
But it wasn’t just physical. In the darkness, his voice was the only reality.
“Feel this, Maya,” he whispered in her ear as his hand kept up that devastating rhythm. “Feel how your body opens for me. Feel how you don’t have to think. You don’t have to decide. You don’t have to worry about whether the rent’s paid or if your boyfriend is lying.”
His words sank into her mind as deeply as his fingers did into her body.
“Here, in the dark, you only have to feel. I make the decisions. I take control. You only have to exist.”
It was the truth. It was the ultimate seduction. The freedom of having no choice. The freedom of being totally, absolutely cared for and possessed.
“I’m yours,” she babbled, her head thrown back, lost in the black abyss of the blindfold. “I’m yours.”
“You’re mine,” he confirmed.
He withdrew his hand.
The loss was sharp.
But then she felt the tip of him. Hot, hard, real.
He entered her slowly.
Without sight, every sensation was amplified a thousandfold. She felt every inch of him stretching her, filling her. She felt his weight descending on her, his sweat-slicked skin pressing against hers.
He kissed her. A deep, searching kiss, his tongue matching the rhythm of his hips.
They moved together in the darkness. There was no rush now. Only a deep, terrifying, beautiful connection. Maya couldn’t tell where her body ended and his began. Blind to everything else, they were a single entity moving through the void.
“Look at me,” Ethan said, forgetting the blindfold for a moment, lost in passion.
But then he remembered.
“No,” he corrected, his voice hoarse and broken. “Feel me. Feel who I am.”
And she did. She felt his strength, his vulnerability, his desperate need to merge with her.
The orgasm came like an explosion of white light behind the black blindfold.
Maya screamed his name, clutching the sheets as the world dissolved into pure pleasure.
Ethan followed seconds later with a low grunt that vibrated through her chest, pouring himself inside her, sealing the silent pact they’d made.
The aftermath was silent and heavy.
Ethan rolled to the side but kept an arm draped over her waist, anchoring her. Their breathing slowed in unison.
Maya felt like she was floating. Light, clean, emptied of all anxiety. The darkness of the blindfold was no longer frightening—it was a womb.
After a few minutes, Ethan stirred.
“I’m going to take it off,” he said softly.
He sat up and leaned over her, his hands finding the back of her head. He untied the knot in the silk tie.
The pressure on her eyes vanished.
The silk fell away.
The dim light from the wall sconces stung Maya’s eyes. She blinked, tears welling up reflexively. The world returned in a blur of shapes and golden shadows.
The first thing she saw was Ethan’s face. He was leaning over her, watching her with naked intensity. He looked tired, disheveled, beautiful.
“Welcome back,” he whispered.
Maya blinked again, focusing. The room looked different now. The shadows weren’t threatening. The high ceiling wasn’t oppressive. Everything seemed… saturated. More real.
She sat up, pulling the sheet over her naked body. She felt changed. Something fundamental had shifted inside her. Trust was no longer an abstract word—it was a physical experience etched into her nerves.
Ethan rose from the bed. He was naked, glorious in the dim light. He walked toward the bathroom to get a towel or water.
Maya followed him with her eyes, admiring the way he moved.
Her gaze wandered around the room, readjusting to sight. The Persian rug. The emerald velvet dress pooled on the floor like a distant memory. The nightstand on his side.
She stopped.
Something was different.
On the dark wood nightstand, next to the crystal water bottle, sat something that hadn’t been there when they came in.
Maya was certain. The table had been empty except for the water and the lamp. She’d looked there when Ethan drank the water at the start.
Now there was an object.
A folder.
Not an executive leather portfolio. A plain manila folder, the kind you’d find in old offices or police stations.
It was slightly bulging, as if it held many pages.
And there was a white label on the tab.
Maya squinted, trying to read in the dim light.
Ethan returned from the bathroom, drying his hands on a small towel. He saw where she was looking. He stopped.
The silence in the room changed texture instantly. The warm, post-coital intimacy evaporated, replaced by a sudden chill.
Ethan didn’t try to hide the folder. He walked to the nightstand and placed his hand on it.
“What is that?” Maya asked, her voice hoarse.
Ethan looked at her. His expression closed off again. The vulnerability disappeared behind the collector’s mask.
“Tomorrow,” he said. “I promised there would be no more secrets.”
“What’s in there, Ethan?”
“The beginning,” he answered enigmatically. “And maybe the end.”
He picked up the folder and slid it into the nightstand drawer, closing it with a soft click.
“But tonight… tonight is still about blind faith.”
He turned off the lamp, plunging the room into darkness again. But this time, without the blindfold, the darkness didn’t feel safe. It felt full of ghosts waiting to tell their stories.
Maya lay down but didn’t close her eyes. She stared at the silhouette of the closed drawer, knowing that whatever was inside had the power to change everything again.
