Rivan sleeping on Devyanis breasts #2
Finally Zaid stood up.
"Come on."
He extended his hand.
"Our mission awaits."
Devyani immediately took it.
"What mission?"
"The sacred mission of finding the best ice cream in London."
She laughed.
"That's impossible."
Zaid gasped dramatically.
"You challenge me?"
"Yes."
"Let's go."
.
.
.
.
The corridor outside Devyani's room was unusually quiet.
Too quiet.
Which, in the history of the Thakur siblings, was always a dangerous sign.
Pressed against the wall like highly trained spies or, more accurately, unemployed detectives stood Payal, Aradhya, and Rudraksh.
All three had their ears shamelessly glued to Devyani's bedroom door.
Not a single ounce of shame.
Not a single ounce of dignity.
Only curiosity.
Very dangerous curiosity.
Inside the room, muffled voices floated through the door.
Unfortunately, they couldn't hear the actual words.
Fortunately, that had never stopped them from creating their own conclusions.
Aradhya narrowed her eyes dramatically.
"I am telling you both," she whispered, "something is going on."
Payal gasped.
"What if she likes him?"
"What if he likes her?"
"What if they're secretly in love?"
"What if they're already planning a wedding?"
Rudraksh slowly turned toward his sisters.
"You both need help."
Neither listened.
Aradhya clutched Payal's arm.
"Did you SEE the way she ran toward him downstairs?"
Payal immediately nodded.
"She practically flew."
"Exactly!"
"And he picked her up!"
"Exactly!"
"And then he spun her around!"
"EXACTLY!"
The two girls stared at each other.
Then simultaneously looked toward the door.
Their eyes widened.
"Oh my God."
Rudraksh rubbed his forehead.
"You two are impossible."
Payal dramatically placed a hand over her heart.
"What if Devyani bhabhi moved on?"
Silence.
The question suddenly hit all three of them.
Even Rudraksh stopped joking.
Because if there was one person nobody expected Devyani to move on from
it was RIVAN.
Aradhya bit her lip.
A little guilt creeping into her excitement.
"Honestly..."
She glanced toward the garden downstairs.
"I wouldn't blame her."
Neither would Payal.
Two years.
Two whole years.
No calls.
No messages.
No explanations.
Nothing.
Even thinking about it made them angry.
Payal crossed her arms.
"Rivan bhaiyya deserves this."
Rudraksh sighed.
"He does."
"He literally divorced her."
Payal nodded aggressively.
"He disappeared."
Another nod.
"He came back looking all cool and mysterious."
Another nod.
"And now suddenly he wants her back."
Rudraksh looked toward the ceiling.
"When you say it like that..."
"Because it's true."
Aradhya folded her arms.
"If I was Devyani bhabhi, I would've thrown a chair at him."
"A chair?"
Payal scoffed.
"I would've thrown the entire dining table."
Rudraksh stared at both of them.
"You two are terrifying."
Inside the room, a burst of laughter echoed.
The three instantly froze.
Then slowly looked at each other.
Nobody spoke.
Nobody blinked.
Then Aradhya whispered,
"She laughed."
Payal nodded.
"She laughed."
Rudraksh nodded too.
"She laughed."
Another silence.
Then all three screamed internally.
"HE MADE HER LAUGH!"
Aradhya whisper-shouted.
Payal nearly fainted.
Rudraksh looked ready to jump through the window.
"Oh this is bad."
"This is VERY bad."
"What if Rivan bhaiyya finds out?"
All three imagined it.
And immediately felt sorry for Zaid.
Very sorry.
Suddenly footsteps approached from inside.
The door handle moved.
All three nearly died.
"RUN!"
Payal hissed.
Chaos erupted instantly.
Rudraksh got pushed first.
Payal nearly tripped over her own foot.
Aradhya turned to run.
Too late.
The door opened.
A hand shot out.
And caught her wrist.
Everything stopped.
Payal and Rudraksh disappeared around the corner like Olympic athletes fleeing a crime scene.
Cowards.
Absolute cowards.
Leaving Aradhya behind.
Traitors.
The poor girl slowly turned around.
And immediately forgot how breathing worked.
Zaid stood in front of her.
Tall.
Effortlessly handsome.
Wearing a simple black shirt with sleeves rolled to his forearms.
The kind of man who looked expensive without trying.
His shoulders looked broad enough to block sunlight.
His jaw was sharp enough to cut glass.
And those eyes
God save her.
Those eyes.
A teasing smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"Eavesdropping is bad manners, Miss Aradhya."
His voice.
His stupidly attractive voice.
Deep.
Smooth.
Warm.
Like expensive whiskey mixed with trouble.
Aradhya's brain immediately resigned.
Kya maal hai.
The thought appeared automatically.
Kya awaz hai.
For three whole seconds she simply stared.
Completely frozen.
Not moving.
Not blinking.
Not functioning.
Meanwhile Zaid looked confused.
"Hello?"
Nothing.
He waved a hand.
Still nothing.
"Miss Aradhya?"
No response.
"Earth to Aradhya?"
Still loading.
Finally she blinked.
Reality returned.
And with it came embarrassment.
Her cheeks immediately turned red.
Bright red.
Dangerously red.
Unfortunately, Aradhya Thakur was physically incapable of admitting embarrassment.
So she chose violence instead.
Instantly pulling her wrist away.
"Who said I was listening?"
Zaid raised an eyebrow.
Interesting.
Very interesting.
"Oh?"
"Yes."
"I see."
"I was just walking."
"Outside the door."
"Yes."
"For fifteen minutes."
Silence.
Aradhya hated intelligent people.
Especially handsome intelligent people.
Zaid folded his arms.
"So you weren't listening?"
"No."
"You just happened to be standing here."
"Yes."
"With your ear against the door."
"..."
"..."
"...The wall looked interesting."
And unfortunately...
Aradhya liked it.
A lot.
Which annoyed her.
"Miss Aradhya Thakur."
The way he said her name made her stomach do something weird.
Something illegal.
"I've heard a lot about you."
Her eyes widened.
He knows my name.
Why does he know my name?
How much does he know?
Did Devyani bhabhi tell him?
Did someone show him pictures?
Wait.
Why am I happy about that?
She immediately forced herself to calm down.
"Oh really?"
She crossed her arms.
"Good things, I hope."
"Wouldn't you like to know?"
Aradhya almost fainted.
Almost.
Instead she tossed her hair dramatically.
"I don't have time for this."
Then she turned around.
And walked away.
Very confidently.
Very gracefully.
Very elegantly.
Until she accidentally walked into the wrong corridor.
Realized it.
Turned around.
And walked back pretending nothing happened.
Zaid watched the entire thing.
Kids these days.
A few moments later Devyani stepped out of the room.
"What happened?"
Zaid immediately composed himself.
"Nothing."
His eyes briefly followed Aradhya disappearing around the corner.
"Just your cousin."
"Which one?"
"The dramatic one."
Devyani nodded.
"That doesn't narrow it down."
Fair point.
Then Zaid extended his arm toward her.
"Come on."
"Where?"
"Ice cream."
Her eyes instantly lit up.
Like a child.
And just like that, she smiled.
A real smile.
The kind everyone had been missing.
The two walked away laughing together.
Neither noticing the figure standing at the end of the corridor.
Aradhya.
Still staring.
Still touching the wrist Zaid had held.
Still looking suspiciously dreamy.
London glowed beneath the golden hues of the setting sun.
The city seemed softer in the evening, less intimidating and more beautiful. Streetlights slowly flickered to life one by one as traffic flowed lazily through the roads.
Inside the car, soft music played in the background.
Zaid drove with one hand resting casually on the steering wheel while the other tapped lightly against the gear. His gaze occasionally drifted toward Devyani sitting beside him.
She was staring out of the window.
Lost somewhere between memories and thoughts.
The city lights reflected in her eyes as buildings passed by in a blur. A small smile rested on her lips.
Not forced.
Not fake.
A real smile.
The kind he hadn't seen on her face for a long time.
Zaid found himself smiling too.
For months he had watched her rebuild herself piece by piece.
Watched her learn.
Grow.
Fight.
Heal.
Yet some wounds still remained untouched.
Today he wanted her to forget them.
Even if only for a few hours.
Suddenly he turned the steering wheel and entered a narrow road lined with old trees.
The branches curved above the street like a natural tunnel.
Fairy lights hung from several cafés nearby, casting warm golden glows over the pavement.
At the very end of the road stood a small ice cream parlor.
The same one.
Or at least the closest version of it.
Zaid parked the car.
A victorious grin appeared on his face.
"Found it."
Devyani looked outside.
For a second she simply stared.
Then her eyes widened.
"No way."
A laugh escaped her.
"No way."
She immediately opened the door and stepped out.
The cool evening breeze danced through her hair.
Her eyes remained fixed on the little shop.
The glowing lights.
The wooden sign.
The outdoor seating area.
Everything looked straight out of a movie.
"You actually found it."
Her voice carried genuine surprise.
"I thought this place closed months ago."
Zaid stepped beside her and locked the car.
"It did."
She turned.
"It reopened one months ago."
Then he pointed toward the shop.
"And before you ask..."
His grin widened.
"I called them."
Devyani blinked.
"You called them?"
"Of course."
"Why?"
"So they wouldn't run out of your favorite flavor."
For a second she simply stared at him.
Completely speechless.
Then she laughed.
A beautiful genuine laugh.
"Zaid."
"Hmm?"
"That's ridiculously sweet."
He shrugged.
Trying to appear unaffected.
Failing miserably.
"Anything for my favorite person."
The words were simple.
Yet something warm settled inside her chest.
The kind of warmth she hadn't felt in a very long time.
Together they walked toward the patio.
