Chapter 19

NINETEEN

Johnni

“Chief, you’re not looking!” I whined as I tried to take our picture as we headed to the next destination.

I was in pure bliss of us planning our future wedding that I was doing something I had never done with any man outside of Quincey.

I was flashing my ring proudly, snapping pictures nonstop. It was beautiful.

Ever since our first date at Morningside, I made it my mission to capture every moment with him. And no, it was never on any revenge. But for me, I finally felt like I was creating memories I wanted to look back on and smile.

“Lou, I can’t drive and look at the camera, love. Gimme a minute.” I ignored him, flicking away until we reached a red light.

Courtland leaned over the console, taking my phone and holding it up as he pressed his lips on mine before taking a regular pose.

“The perfect engagement pictures,” I said as soon as he released me to finish our drive.

Of course I wouldn’t post them anywhere, but in my mind I was building a scrapbook for us.

“What’s next on the list?”

“Well, I’ve never planned a wedding before, but I heard the cake was an important part of the day.” We parked outside of the bakery I knew to have a ton of customers at this hour but seemed to be closed.

“As much as I appreciate you wanting to give me my dream wedding, baby, I don’t think they’re open. Maybe we should come back later, you know when eating cake isn’t during breakfast hours.”

“Naw, I keep telling you we moving on my time when we’re together. I got everything handled. We’re eating out of order today and I demand that my Queen Lou will eat cake now because we’re not leaving until we decide on the perfect flavors for our cake.”

“Jokes on you. I already know what flavor I want, lavender lemon with a light glaze frosting is classy stuff,” I joked, making him laugh as he held the door open for me with the scent of goodness hitting me the second I entered.

“Baby, I know I just said I love you, but yeah no, we’re definitely tasting the shit outta some cakes today because none of that goes with pistachio rose,” he teased back.

Still stuck in the clouds of delusion with Courtland, I let him lead me into the bakery where we picked out a wedding cake.

“I promise I’m on my way right now,” I said to Mickey, who called herself yelling at me through the phone.

She won the activity during our planning of date night, and of course, the Mrs.-to-be picked the bridal shop to have us try on our bridesmaids' dresses. I wasn’t mad about the location, just the timing at the moment.

“Johnni, you said that twenty minutes ago. Hurry the hell up. You’re last to go; it’s only three of you heffas.”

I bit down on my lip as my eyes rolled to the back of my head, praying I could contain my moan. I really was on my way, but Courtland’s dick had us pulling a detour with me sitting on it before we made it.

Since the day Courtland proposed to give me my dream wedding, we managed to leave the house every day and it always included his dick deep inside me after finalizing another detail of our wedding.

Today, we only had time for a quickie in the backseat of the truck since we were five minutes from the shop where I was meeting the girls.

“I’m coming, Mickey.” I struggled to push my words out clearly as I rode out my wave. Before I could hear Mickey’s final argument about my lack of punctuality, Courtland grabbed the phone from the middle console, ending the call.

“This is my gotdamn time, Lou. I need to hear you, baby,” he grunted in my ear, freeing my moans to join his. His dick filled me to the max.

“Ooh fuck yes, sing that sweet shit to me.” Not even a second later, I was tossing my head back and coming again.

“Cum with me, Chief. Let me have all of you.” Courtland’s massive arms pulled me closer, holding me tight as he did just that. Taking my mouth with his, he kissed me until my bones were jelly.

Even if I had no idea what I genuinely asked for, he knew exactly what I needed.

I could feel his warm cum overflowing between us, giving me more of a consequence I would later have to deal with.

Long gone were the days of me sneaking Plan Bs after our sessions.

To be honest, I couldn’t remember the last time I’d taken one.

I had been living on the edge of love with my man and letting him fill me with his babies every single day we were together.

“Got fucking damn, Lou,” Courtland said, both of us heavy breathing.

“Baby, get up slow or else this mess will go everywhere,” he said, assisting me up.

“Yeah, I wasn’t thinking when I made this request. Now I’ma be carrying you around all day.”

“Lou, you were already doing that. I’m still in there from yesterday and the day before that and—”

“Ugh, please don’t remind me. I’m going to need you to either wrap it up or I’ma be sneaking birth control pills next since I keep forgetting to get a Plan B,” I said, now, moving over and grabbing the wipes we kept back here along with extra clothes for both of us.

Since we never knew when we would get a moment, we had to be prepared.

Hell, I even had clothes and toiletries at his house… our house, as he called it.

Johnni, just say you packed a hoe bag for the truck.

Yeah, it sounded worse when I said it like that, so I didn’t.

“We can pick up condoms after we leave here and keep them in your quickie bag.” He laughed, making me kiss my teeth. I tossed a wipe at him so he could clean himself up.

“Our quickie bag. You benefit from the goodies inside just as much. Now, hurry up. I’m late, as you heard,” I said, using another wipe to collect more of him before I slid on clean panties.

“Yes, ma’am, Queen Lou.” He went to exit the truck when I pulled him back, needing to feel his lips once more. I knew it would be a long ass day before I could kiss them again. Courtland’s hand cuffed my neck, squeezing lightly.

“Unless you want to be another half hour late, I advise you to behave, Lou,” he grumbled between kisses.

I groaned, knowing he was right as we separated.

Once we were back in our proper positions in the truck, I sat back, adding the necessary touches to make sure I didn’t have any evidence of Courtland being on me.

The short ride down the road had us at the shop in no time.

I walked in and had all eyes on me, or well I thought.

“Hey, ladies. Mickey, I apologize for being late. I brought you something that may help you forgive me. Here’s to stepping into another chapter in your life, Mrs. Morgan.

” I passed her a bag that officially kicked off bridal season.

With her and BK setting a date, I had custom items made for her with his last name.

“Oh, Johnni, thank you. You two take notes. This is how I want to be treated from here on out,” she said, pointing to Amber and Hollis. Amber chuckled but Hollis was silent, with her eyes still on me. She squinted for a minute then spoke.

“Late and bringing company. Who is this man, Johnni?”

“Oh snap. I forgot y’all haven’t met Tunk. He’s my bodyguard. Courtland, these are the girls, Hollis, Mickey, and Amber.” Mickey and Amber gave a polite greeting while Hollis was herself.

“My, you’s a fine piece of man, I usually don’t mix business with plea—"

“Hollis, please! No you may not get with my bodyguard. I need him focused on protecting me, not keeping you busy for the moment.” She tossed her hands up in mock surrender, but I knew this wasn’t the end of the conversation.

I wasn’t worried about Courtland taking it there with my friend, or any other woman for that matter.

I was that confident in our relationship.

“Damn, Johnni, you blocking hard. If Mr. Tall and Fine is single, then so am I. What if he’s the one for me?

I could be the next one getting married, and here you are denying me from my future husband.

” That had Courtland smirking but wasn’t nothing funny to me.

I turned to face him, giving him a deep scowl.

Courtland cleared his throat and straightened his shoulders, then looked forward.

I then put my attention back on Hollis, and for a quick second, there was a quizzical expression on her face. But just as fast as it appeared, it was gone, back to her amused look.

“Trust me, he’s not. Can we focus on the reason for us being here, please and thank you?” I said sternly, making my way over to Mickey and Amber. Amber was pouring me a glass of champagne while Mickey grabbed my dress that matched the color of the alcohol I needed.

I took a sip then put my glass down, accepting the dress and heading back to the fitting room with my name on it. Inside were our bridesmaids’ boxes with all the goodies including a handwritten letter with her officially delegating our roles in her bridal party.

I missed the moment in live action with my best friends.

And all for some damn dick.

My life was slightly all over the place and I didn’t like it nor was I used to it.

I dabbed at the corners of my eyes, sniffling as I cried silently. The two knocks rang out before Hollis stepped in, closing the door behind her.

“You in here crying?”

“No,” I said through a choke from fighting to keep my tears at bay, especially since I wasn’t alone.

“Ugh, you’re a bad ass liar. I hope you’re better at it when Quincey asks if you’re fucking your bodyguard because that’s definitely happening.” Mid sniffle, I choked hard this time as I pulled in air that should’ve gone outward.

I put my eyes on her as she stood there casually getting my dress ready for me as if she didn’t just drop a bomb on me.

You only feel like it’s a bomb because it’s true.

She doesn’t know that though, so hold tight on denying it.

“What are you talking about? I’m not—"

“No, Johnni, what are you doing?”

“I’m not doing anything, Hollis, because I’m not—
