Chapter 12

Luke

I stared intently as Hollis slurped her frozen dirty lemonade while tossing out moans in the process.

“Mmm…please stop doing that. The more you creepily stare, the more my lemonade tastes sour, and it’s too good to go to waste behind a creepy ass nigga.” I smirked as I looked away for a brief second before putting my eyes back on her.

“Luke!”

“Aight, aight, but damn you’re making it hard for me to concentrate on anything else. Doing all those extra ass noises is basically begging me to pay you attention. I’m just following the context clues you’re giving me,” I said as I reached for her cup, taking a sip.

“Ey! Uht uht, don’t be putting your crusty lips around my straw, Luke. And why are you drinking mine? You literally have your own in your hand,” Hollis whined, attempting to snatch it back but I blocked her with my arm.

“Chill, Hershey…I had to see what the hype was all about. thought I was missing some special ingredient.” I smirked while I stared at her again. Her sexy ass scowl was present now as she pushed her titties up, crossing her arms over her chest.

“No, I don’t want it anymore. I don’t know where your mouth’s been.

” I gazed at her bottom lip curled up and an urge hit my gut that had me licking mine.

It had only been hours since our last quick peck at the game, but I was in need, so I took a chance, leaning down and putting my lips on hers, completely catching her off guard.

Long gone was the peck shit as I slipped my tongue into her mouth, swapping the lemonade flavor between us. Yeah, I had just broken one of her so-called rules and didn’t give a fuck.

Hands full and all, they went around her to pull her closer. This time I wasn’t going for that quick ten second shit Hollis had been giving me.

Naw, I was thirsty for my wife’s kisses and wouldn’t back down until I was fully satisfied. If I remembered correctly, public displays of affection were a turn on for Hollis. She loved for the world to see me, us, loving on each other.

When Hollis’s hands gripped my shirt, I just knew she was on the same page as me, taking her fix until the sound of someone whistling tore her mouth from mine.

“Okay, that’s enough, Luke.” She blushed as she stepped back, creating the same annoying ass space, then taking her drink out of my hand before drinking a sip.

“Naw it wasn’t but it proved my point well enough.”

“Ugh what the fuck ever. I gotta do something to wash your funky ass breath out my mouth. You should scrape that tongue better.” I kissed my teeth as I waved her off, shaking my head. My eyes caught something real quick that had me grabbing her hand, tugging her in the direction my focus was on.

“Luke! What are you…oh no, definitely hell the fuck no! No pictures.” I ignored her of course, continuing my pursuit to the photobooth.

“Hershey, we need pictures together. We don’t have any that will be organic.” Did we need them? No, probably not, especially since we took professional ones that hung on the walls of the house, but I wanted them.

“Um… we have some. You walk past like four just to leave or come into the front door. I’m sure that’s enough. Skyla isn’t going to be digging for no organic ones.”

Hollis was still talking but didn’t fight me when we made it inside the booth, scooting closer to me.

“C’mon, baby. Humor me, please.” She huffed, but reached for my cup, placing both down while I got money out of my wallet. Once I got us situated, the countdown started with Hollis pouting yet again with her arms crossed. I wrapped mine around her waist.

“Can you pretend like you love me? Damn, how else will the world believe us.”

“By me being in the picture, duh?” I leaned into her more, nipping her cheek just as the first flash came.

“Ouch, nigga. Can you stop playing so much? You know I bruise easily. Besides, I don’t want no hater marks on me.” She yelped as she went to wipe the same spot, but I blocked her, going in for a kiss to soothe the ache.

“Uht uht, only kisses can ease the pain. And I’ll quit if you make these poses real for the camera.” She turned in my embrace, face on full glare, which had me smirking.

She leaned in closer, like she was going to kiss me until she turned, tossing up a peace sign and sticking her tongue out just as the flash came on.

“Oh okay, you tell me to stop playing, but clearly you’re with all the jokes.”

“How? Everyone knows you do a silly pose, a serious one, and a cute one,” she said as we stared at each other when the flash went off again.

“Well, hell naw, wait, we gotta run this back. Re-do. I want in on the silly shit. The world definitely needs to see your goofy side. I heard you be mugging the fuck outta some of the wives.” I added more money so we could get all the poses she spat out.

Once the countdown started, I put my hands back on her, this time placing her legs over mine.

“No more chances, so don’t fuck up this time. Do something silly,” she said.

“Oh trust me, I ain’t fucking shit up this time. You can believe that. I’m locked in for real,” I said just as I got in position with Hollis doing the same. The flash came and went with her shouting out our next pose.

“Aight, now face me and stare at me lovingly. And make it seem legit.” She didn’t have to tell me, loving her was the only thing I did naturally.

“I like how I just got cussed out for staring and now you want to capture the moment. I knew you wanted me to look at you,” I joked just as the countdown started.

Hollis rolled her eyes. “Don’t blow it. I have six seconds to still do it and you know this mouth can go in.” I smiled.

“Six seconds isn’t long enough. I could do this all day.

You’re so beautiful, Hershey.” While holding her gaze, I pressed my lips to hers, parting her mouth with mine.

This was the second time within a matter of moments I was lucky enough to be kissing my wife again.

And it was without a crowd. I fucking loved it because no one could interrupt us from enjoying each other.

My hands cradled her face, attempting to attach her skin to mine since we were as close as we could be while Hollis locked her arms around my neck.

This was the familiar I missed.

The familiarity of my wife I yearned for. Damn near drowning in her scent while I taste her lips on mine.

Mmm…

I got so lost that I couldn’t even tell you how long after the flash went off that we stayed locked together. By the time I released her, Hollis was breathless and blushing before a soft smile appeared on her face.

This time when the flash came, we just stared at each other, unmoving. I was sure she was processing my mannish ass ways while I was adding this kiss to the memory of top moments we shared.

It got quiet before Hollis readjusted herself, placing her feet on the ground.

“Whew, well that’s enough. We should finally make it to some rides. My mind is on the Thunderstorm that goes crazy with the twist.” That was all she gave me as she got up, leaving me there. I got up, getting our pictures, glancing at them before I put them in my pocket then grabbed our cups.

I left the booth, catching up with her, passing over her cup, then grabbing her free hand, interlocking our fingers.

“Only if you promise to hold my hand. You know I only ride them shits for you.” I wasn’t scared, but I sure as hell was going to fake the excuse to touch her.

She smirked as she looked down at our hands and I knew she found me out.

“Ugh, fine, come on, big baby ass nigga.”

She wanna hold my shit too.

I chuckled lowly, letting my delusions win.

“Wait, Luke, I need my room key,” Hollis said as I walked her past the front desk, heading straight for the elevators. We had just gotten to the hotel from the amusement park with me carrying the bags while she carried the stuffed elephant I won for her playing ring toss.

“Holls, it’s only one room. Don’t worry though. Coach knew I was bringing you, so it’s a suite. I’ll take the couch or something,” I said, hitting the button.

“One room! Um… yeah, no. That’s not going to work. I can just get my own.” She turned to walk away, huffing when I snatched her shirt, preventing her from getting far.

“Aht, married couples don’t have two rooms, Holls. Remember, we’re a unit. If anyone finds out you have a room, how bad will that look? We can thug it out for a couple of days. I mean, it’s not like we haven’t shared a room before.”

And a bed, life, love, and other things.

“Ugh, that was different and a long ass time ago, Luke.”

“Look, I’ll stay out of your space and you can raid the mini bar.”

“You think those overpriced tiny ass bottles of alcohol are going to get me to agree? Nigga, there is a bar right there where my money spends well. I want something else.” I looked over her shoulder as an older couple made their way over to us. We needed to end this conversation.

“Baby, please,” I stressed just as they reached us, with me smiling, tipping my head before speaking.

“How y’all doing?”

“Oh my, you’re Luke Deacon. Pray up!” I smirked at someone knowing my catchphrase.

“I appreciate you.” I nodded.

“We’re here to watch the Badgers play. I’m Gerald and this is my wife Yolanda. We’re huge fans,” the man said. I smiled wider being recognized by a fan while Hollis turned to see the couple moving closer toward me.

“Yes. Thank y’all for supporting. It was a pleasure meeting you.” The doors opened with Hollis stepping on first, me behind her rolling her bag, then the couple.

“No need to thank us. We’ve been watching the games since we were around you young folks ages. It was the love of the game that brought us together. Of course at the time she was rooting for the wrong team, but I eventually got her and changed her ways. Now it’s the Badgers for life.”

I smirked while his wife playfully tapped his chest.
