There’s a knock at the door, and for a moment I can’t remember where I am. I crack open an eye and see Sloane draped around me, blinking sleepily. Then I remember what we did this afternoon and suddenly I’m wide awake.
My best friend fucked me. And it was goddamn life-changing.
“I ordered room service,” comes Cole’s voice as I struggle to sit up. He gestures to a series of plates and bowls on a trolley and smiles. He lifts one of those fancy silver lids and the smell of garlic wafts out.
“Oh amazing, I’m starving,” Sloane says, untangling herself from the bed and standing. She’s still wearing a see-through negligee type thing, and goddamn it, I almost get hard again just from the sight of her. She stretches, cat-like, and gives me a languid smile.
“How long have we been asleep?” I croak, pulling on some boxers and blinking at Cole.
“Only an hour or so,” he replies softly, his face unreadable.
“Well, this smells delicious,” Sloane adds, unstacking the dishes onto the table. “Oh my God, garlic naans!” It comes out as a squeal and Cole breaks into a smile before he looks back to me.
“How are you feeling?” he asks, a touch of uncertainty on his face.
I walk over to him, stopping right in front of him.
“I feel fucking great,” I reply, leaning up slightly to press my lips to his.
It’s still a novelty that I’m kissing someone taller than me, let alone a man.
The relief on his face is instant, and I pull him into me, our bodies flush.
For a few moments I just hold him, letting his nervous system reset slightly.
“Yeah?” He squeezes me tightly.
“Yeah. That was… incredible, Cole. Absolutely incredible. I loved it.”
His head drops down, our foreheads pressed together as we just soak in the moment. I feel nothing but loved, wrapped up in his arms.
“It was beautiful,” comes Sloane’s voice from the other side of the trolley.
Finally, he pulls back and cradles my face in his hands.
“Thank you for trusting me.” His voice is barely above a whisper.
“Thank you for fucking me so hard I saw stars,” I whisper back, with a grin. “Words I never thought I’d say,” I add, laughing. Cole rolls his eyes but the smile remains.
“Shall we eat?” Sloane says, as Cole nods and releases me. I grab his hand before we part, and press a kiss to his knuckles. A happy flush creeps up his cheeks and I smile as I let go.
We dish out platefuls of curry, rice, and naan, and fall into a lengthy chat before we put on Top Gun: Maverick .
I curl up between Cole and Sloane – me spooning her, him spooning me.
Everyone’s asleep before midnight.
