26. Ashmaker #3

He grabs roughly onto Jesse's limp cock, stretching out the lump of flesh, and uses the blade to cut through the thick tissue, taking his time, one layer at a time, as Jesse tries in desperation to fight against his restraints, and screams until he can't breathe behind the gag.

"I know you usually use a paralytic, but I think he deserves to suffer.

His screams will feed our will to continue to cleanse the city.

He will create beautiful music for us, Ashmaker. "

I don't reply, not sure what to think as I watch Jesse's cock finally give way and depart from his body.

Blood quickly soaks Jesse's legs, and the space around him, as his body slumps, and he becomes unconscious from the shock and blood loss.

"Pathetic, he couldn't even handle his sentencing for his crimes," Ghost utters with disapproval, and I have to swallow my smile at his bitter outrage.

I watch as he carefully removes the fabric from Jesse's mouth, places the knife on Jesse's prone, wet lap, and shoves the cock inside.

One of his hands grips Jesse's throat, while the other grabs the blade again, and uses the hilt to push the appendage further down his throat.

A horrific wheezing and choking sound fills the air around us, as Jesse's body struggles to take in air, helping to push the cock further down his throat.

He comes to with a horrified startle, squirming in his spot, trying to cough out what's lodged in his throat, but his body is too weak now.

His large, panicked eyes meet mine, and whatever he sees in them has him shedding more tears.

I can feel the satisfaction and excitement radiating off Ghost in front of me, and I'm not sure how to feel about that. This is my kill, my justice; do I really want to give it to someone else to complete?

I dart forward, grabbing the blade from Ghost's hand, and yanking a fistful of Jesse's hair in my other hand, as I push his head back at an angle that exposes his neck to me.

"You are utterly pitiful, Jesse Thames. Your sins must be paid in blood, and I mean to see yours spilled.

" A garbled noise leaves Jesse, as I stab one eye and then the other, blinding him.

The blade pops from his eye socket with a sucking noise that has Ghost groaning behind me.

"Beautiful. The way you wield the blade and yield justice is a work of art, Ashmaker."

A warm tingle of appreciation zaps through me with pleasure at his words, and I have to force myself to refocus on the task at hand.

I use the blade to separate Jesse's lips from his face until he's nothing more than a grotesque, bloody lump of destroyed flesh.

"Lips that uttered falsehoods and fake promises are no more. "

I crouch down before him, my gloved fingers slick against the blade's grip.

Jesse's stopped making any noise at this point, and his chest barely rises.

He's at his end and ready to meet the fires of hell.

"Give my regards to the devil, Jesse. I'll be sending him more gifts soon.

" I slide the blade across Jesse's neck, opening it like a gaping hole, and exposing the tissue and muscle fibers below.

Behind me, I hear movement, and look over my shoulder to see Ghost dragging over more discarded wooden crates and garbage over to us.

He begins meticulously layering the pieces around Jesse as I rise to my feet, cleaning the bloody blade on Jesse's arm before slipping it into the back waistband of my pants.

Ghost reaches into the bag on his shoulders, pulls out a can of barbecue accelerant, and begins to squirt the liquid all over Jesse's slumped form, as I watch with rapt attention.

He shifts back to my side and hands me a red, plastic lighter.

His gaze meets mine, and I instantly feel an intimacy I'm not sure how to react to.

I've been alone for so long with my demons and internal struggles, with no one to depend on, no one to turn to.

Could this man before me really be a kindred soul?

Have I been rewarded for all my sacrifice, instead of punished for the blood on my hands?

He pushes back his hoodie, his white hair shining in the muted light, before removing his mask, his face completely exposed to my waiting glance.

A proud smile full of straight, white teeth graces his face as he meets my questioning glance.

God, he's beautiful, like a pale angel who's sinned and fallen from heaven.

"Let him burn, Ashmaker. We have to go."

I force myself to turn away from him, my vision beginning to dim, and the pain in my skull radiating forward, until it's becoming difficult to continue to hold my head up.

I suck in a deep breath, forcing myself to see this through, as I click the lighter before throwing it on Jesse's body.

The fire instantly whooshes, flames erupting and racing across his corpse in beautiful colors.

I stumble forward, grasping my head, a weak whimper sliding from my lips, before I feel Ghost's strong arms wrap around me. Darkness is beginning to shroud my vision, and bitter bile races up the back of my throat. "No... must... finish," I grit.

"It's time we get you home, where you will be safe. I will make sure nothing leads back to you. You have my word."

Home. Safe. Those are the last things my mind grasps before darkness takes me.
