Epilogue II
CONFIDENTIAL
A memo on recent events and recommendations for the members of Fracture from Dr. M. Starsbury, M.D. submitted by request to the Sovereign’s Office:
After my session with SF, I’m confident that he poses no risk to Miss Warren. Indeed, he displayed marked improvements in engagement, hostility, and verbal communication. It is his belief that the discovery of his consort has had a stabilizing force on him rather than the feared violent upheaval.
This remains to be seen, and it will take more sessions with SF and his consort to determine the long-term effects of the mating bond on him and the unit as a whole.
However, I am tentatively hopeful that this change could positively impact not just SF, but the entire unit, particularly because Miss Warren has shown remarkable skill in communication and social guidance.
Should this prove to be the case, it will require a reassessment of the Starsbury Protocol.
Even should the results prove mixed, it will have to be adjusted simply due to the impression the events have left on the rest of the unit.
What one does, so too do the others — for better and worse.

DESCRIPTION:
Arrant
Deep olive skin
Long black hair
5’8”

BACKGROUND:
Childhood spent in a small town in the Sacramento delta with two parents who “hated each other and used [her] as a middleman.” She never felt comfortable anywhere except with her best friend, Dahlia.
While it was Dahlia’s dream to move to the big city, it was her idea to work in a vampire bar.
Her goal is to be a teacher and now to help Fracture “live a little.”
RECORD:
No confirmed or unconfirmed kills. Notable record of violence during her rescue from what was considered to be an abduction but no reported injuries.
DISCIPLINARY ACTION:
N/A
PSYCHOLOGICAL REPORT:
Miss Warren struggles with her inherent need to please and her understanding that she is a whole person with confidence.
This insecurity conflicts her fascination with fear, which stems from her desire to let go of that rigid need to make everyone happy all the time.
She’s a deeply nurturing person. When it comes to SF, she often struggles with her need to help him and the awareness that “he doesn’t need to be fixed, just accepted.
” This stems from a deep love and appears to extend to the other members of the unit as well.
RECOMMENDATIONS:
Miss Warren is remarkably equipped for dealing with the unique issues the unit faces, as well as elves in general.
Despite her physical limitations, she shows no fear — or rather, acts in spite of it — and displays an earnest desire to help where and when she can.
I believe that she should be allowed full access and resources to do so, and barring her from this task would be both harmful and ultimately useless.
NOTES:
I highly recommend Miss Warren’s application for a teaching position be considered.
Keeping her close to Fracture and to elves stands to benefit everyone involved, as I believe she has tremendous value in teaching compassion and curiosity to our people.
If possible, I recommend she be offered a position in the Solbourne Nursery.
