Chapter 13
Killian
Daria felt divine as she clenched around me. Her sounds were utter perfection, from her moans to her sobs, to the way she said my name as she came. With her taste still on my lips, it was almost impossible not to hurl over that edge with her, but I wanted to make this last.
With my Tally, you never knew what lay around the next corner.
Danger, pleasure, a sacred mission— all in a day’s work with her.
I admired her fire, her passion, and the loyalty she had for her people.
Leaving Earth would be hard for her, but we were already the most hunted people in the city.
To keep her safe, I had to make sure she came home with me.
I hoped she would love Afir as much as I did once she saw it.
“Ah, Killian. What are you doing to me?” she sighed, and I leaned over to kiss her tenderly. She was perfect. My perfect match, a match forged in fire. We’d see her mission through to the end, and then I’d take her home where she belonged.
Lifting her leg, I pinned it between us against my chest for a deeper angle. Then I found her clit with my finger and stoked her fires with each powerful thrust of my body. When she came this time, I was with her, following her over that edge shortly after.
I curled her in my arms and rolled so I wouldn’t crush her, then held her close until our breathing eased. She was tired, her body limp, and I felt enormously satisfied that I caused that sleepy, radiant look in her eyes.
Eventually, we had to get up to clean ourselves in the small, cold room, but even that didn’t dampen the warm, tender mood between us.
I was certain that Daria felt a hint of hesitation when I pulled her back in my arms when we settled down to sleep, but she surrendered quickly.
Even if her mind hadn’t accepted it yet, her body knew it was safe.
I wanted to sleep too, we’d need all the rest we could get for the battle up ahead.
My mind was stuck on the obstacles still waiting, whirling with thoughts on the problems we still faced.
Daria didn’t have all the proof she needed, though what she had was a good start.
What would she plan to do to get the final part?
And how were we going to leave this safe house?
I was confident they couldn’t find it, but we had risked a signal.
If the Dragnell or Praxidar were listening, they might have picked it up. Unlikely but… it was possible.
I thumbed my communications device back on and was instantly bombarded by a scolding from Callum. I waited until he took a deep breath between sentences before butting in. “I know, Callum. It’s a big risk. But wouldn’t you do anything for your Tally when you find her?”
That shut him up, and in whispers so as not to wake Daria, I tried to hash out future options with my handler.
That he’d have to come to us with the ship was a given, I just couldn’t tell him where we’d be.
I didn’t know yet. “Dawn is in a couple of hours,” he warned me.
“After that, I can’t fly until sunset. You’d be on your own. ”
I knew that, but Daria was as resourceful and skilled as I was. Between the two of us, we’d figure it out. With Callum waiting in the wings, watching over us as we rested, I surrendered to a quick nap too. I’d need all my energy to keep up with my mate for the next few hours, I was sure of that.
