24. Chapter Twenty-Three
CHAPTER TWENTY-THREE
MARGERY
M argery whined and started to suckle even faster, trying to soothe herself. Why did she feel like she had been run over by a bus? The last time she felt like this was when she was in the car crash, and Max has taken care of her.
“Hello, sleepyhead,” someone gently said.
She moaned as the person ran their hands through her hair. That felt amazing.
“You’re such a good girl.”
She cracked her eyes open and looked to the side. It took her a couple of seconds to register that Ethan was sitting beside the bed.
Screaming, she sat up from the bed and moved away. What was she doing with him? Why was she so close to him?
“You’re okay,” he calmly murmured. “Everything is going to be all right.”
“Where am I? Why am I here?” Margery panicked.
He gave her a gentle smile like he used to do when they were young. For a second, it brought her back to the good old days before he died.
“I can’t tell you the location because it’s a secret, but you should know you’re safe. Daddy is going to keep you safe from now on. You don’t have to worry about anything.”
What if she needed to be safe from him? The likelihood of that happening wasn’t too certain since he had killed for her and made sure she was okay. But at the same time, there still was the whole stalking and sending her gifts situation.
“Why are you calling yourself Daddy again?”
Maybe she had heard wrong the first time, and he was going to say something else. Not that she hoped for that. Margery had been looking for a Daddy for a long time.
“Because I am your Daddy. I know you’ve been searching for a Daddy. How long have you known you were a Little?”
Margery looked down at her hands. How was she supposed to tell him she knew when he was alive? She was going to tell him before he faked his death, but she never had the opportunity to.
“Margery. No lying to Daddy.”
She had longed to call Ethan Daddy several times. It was all she ever wanted, and now the chance was in front of her. But could she look past him stalking her? She was surprised his killing for her didn’t bother her as much, but she wasn’t going to question it right now. Especially after Adalisa and she had had their conversation about it.
“I’ve known for a long time,” she mumbled.
“How long?” Ethan pushed.
“I promise I was going to tell you, but you… died.”
There was no way he could get mad at her for something she couldn’t control. He didn’t inform her about faking his own death.
“Have you told anybody?” he gently asked, inching his way a tad closer to her.
Margery shook her head. She didn’t trust anybody with that information. While people were open-minded a lot didn’t understand age play. And most of them didn’t want to learn or understand after hearing about it. That was what Margery had heard. She had never told anybody, so she had never witnessed it.
“Oh, Little one. I bet that was tough. Keeping it all to yourself and not having anybody to talk to.” Daddy moved to sit on the bed and gently pulled her into his arms. “You don’t need to worry now. Daddy is here to take care of you.”
She relaxed in his embrace for a couple of seconds, loving the feeling of his arms around her. This was what she needed all these years. To have someone to hold her, love her, and cherish her.
“Daddy is going to make up for the lost time. We’re going to have the rest of our lives together.”
Margery pulled away from Ethan and shook her head. “I need to go home. I can’t be here; I shouldn’t be here. I have work to do, a life to live.”
“You aren’t going anywhere. You’re staying where you belong. I know you still have feelings for me as I do for you.”
She shook her head once again, not believing his words. “I don’t have feelings for you anymore.”
A big fat lie.
Margery was going back and forth with herself. She knew that even though he had faked his death and stalked her, she shouldn’t want him. But that wasn’t her case. She did want him, and she still loved him. Part of her knew it was wrong because he had put her through so much, but another part of her didn’t care.
There was a tiny voice inside her who wanted to say ‘screw it’ and pretend everything was okay. But she knew that wasn’t healthy. She knew he was wasn’t a good person. She didn’t know how much of a deprave person Ethan was or what he did, but she figured it was pretty bad since he had murdered somebody for her. If he was willing to kill, what was going to stop him from doing it again?
Nothing .
Ethan gripped her chin. “Lies.”
“It’s not lies.”
He raised an eyebrow, and Margery knew she was a goner. When they dated all those years ago, he would do the exact same thing when she was lying or in trouble. And every single time, it worked.
“Do I need to spank you like I did before for lying to me?”
Her eyes went wide at the mention of that. They had an interesting relationship when they were younger. Looking back, it was a lot like a Daddy and Little girl relationship. She had rules to follow, and when she didn’t, she would get into trouble.
“I can see someone forgot about that. If you lie to me one more time, I will put you over my knee.”
Margery’s breath caught in her lungs as she stared at him. Was he giving her an empty threat, or was he going to follow through? So many things had changed .
“You wouldn’t.”
“Try me.”
They stared at each other for several seconds before she looked away. His gaze was so intense.
“No. This can’t be happening,” she denied.
“And why not?” he asked.
“Because when you died, your fake death, a piece of me died as well. I was starting to move on when you came back and took me. You should have left me alone.”
“But you really don’t believe that, do you?”
Margery clenched her jaw. And here were her mixed feelings again. Part of her hated him for coming back and taking her. Even though she had been finally beginning to live her life, a part of her was excited.
Ethan was back.
A little different, okay, a lot different, but he was still her Ethan. The person she had fallen in love with and wanted to marry.
Now, he was in front of her, and it was like a second chance opened right in front of her. They could be together again.
Could she overlook what he had done and put her through? Margery didn’t know, and it was frustrating to her to no end.
“You should have left me living in the past.” Margery shook her head at Ethan.
“I was trying to keep you safe. I knew I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if anything happened to you. But it wasn’t possible in the end. I love you so much, and I know that you still love me,” Ethan explained .
“Why did you fake your own death?” Margery asked.
He still hadn’t explained what had happened. He was claiming that she was his and that he had got her back.
While that made her all warm and fuzzy inside, it didn’t answer any of her questions. Margery shouldn’t be this understanding or asking these questions. She should be trying to get away from him. But after knowing he faked his death, he owed her an explanation.
An explanation would allow her to move on if she wanted to, she would be able to without questioning her decisions.
“I’m the head of the Montgomery Syndicate.”
Her mouth fell open. She had heard about that group from Adalisa. Margery didn’t know how Adalisa knew, but she said everyone was ruthless, especially the boss.
“You’re lying.”
“I’m not. I took over after my ‘death.’”
“How?”
That wasn’t a question she should be asking, but she was curious. How had he gotten himself into a situation like that?
“I started fighting on the underground once my mom died. I got more popular as every fight went on, and before I knew it, I was the King’s the best fighter. A lot more led up to that, but the gist of it was I didn’t want him as a boss, so I killed him and became the new one,” he explained. “It was really dangerous, and I knew that. I didn’t want to drag you into it, so I faked my own death to protect the people I love, you included. I changed my last name so that people would think I was a different person.”
“But you look the same?” Margery questioned.
“It adds an element. The people who knew me before my ‘death’ think they see a ghost. They don’t believe they really saw me, which works in my favor.”
Everything he said was making sense… to a point.
“Has it changed?” she asked.
“It hasn’t. And I know what you’re going to ask before. Why have I gotten you? I’m selfish, and I don’t want to wait any longer. You have always been mine, and I have always been yours. It was time we were together again, and I have made it possible.”
“Just let me go and live my life.”
Margery didn’t know if she would be able to do that now. If he let her go, she could have had a life with him. But could she get over who he was now?
That was the real question.
Could she forgive him for what he had done? Could she live with herself knowing he had killed people and was a bad person?
There were so many questions to ponder. Questions she thought she would never have to think about. They had never crossed her mind.
“I’m sorry, but I can’t. I’m selfish. I still have feelings for you, and I know you do as well.”
Margery shook her head. “I don’t.”
Ethan scooted closer to her. “You can keep telling yourself that, but your body tells me everything.”
Margery gasped.
“I know you get turned on when I kill for you, say things to you, and when I’m close to you,” he whispered in her ear.
“N-no!” she stuttered .
“I think you just lied.”
“I did not.” But her voice was shaky, giving away that she did.
Ethan moved his head down a little, and his breath was hot against her neck. She closed her eyes and drew in a shaky breath.
“You’re definitely lying,” he affirmed against her skin.
Margery clenched her thighs together. She was lying.
“Open them and let me feel.”
She shook her head. If he got his hands on her, she knew it would be the end of her trying to fight this attraction. Right now, she had a choice and a chance.
“All in good time. Before you know it, you’ll be begging me to touch you.”
“Never.” Margery was firm in her answer.
A wicked grin spread across Ethan’s face. “Challenge accepted.”
