Chapter 28

CHAPTER TWENTY-EIGHT

He probably shouldn’t have slept in the same bed as Akai, given the way things were between them.

It wasn’t an argument, as then it would’ve been easy to sleep in another room.

If he’d decided that he didn’t want the hassle of monsters or the monster world, he could’ve walked away instead of getting into bed with it.

He shouldn’t want any of it. It was weird and disruptive and exactly what he needed.

But the talk of mates unsettled him as it sounded far more permanent than marriage.

Did monsters even date the way humans did?

He tried to imagine taking Akai to a club or out for dinner and failed. The monster didn’t fit into the human world, and there was no reason to assume he’d fit into the monster world any better.

What would he even do?

Akai pulled him closer and kissed the side of his neck as if the tension from last night had never existed. “Why are you awake so early?”

“Thinking about getting a start on the drive,” he lied. It would be easier to stay in the cabin, hidden away from everyone. Here, nothing else mattered, as they were insulated from what everyone else might say. The moment they left together, everything was up for grabs.

“We do not need to rush. We could drive at night.” His claws traced circles over Cole’s belly, leaving heated trails in their wake.

“I don’t want to be driving at night. Not only that, but you can’t check into motels until the afternoon, and you have to be out in the morning.” Not that Akai would be checking in. He would be.

“We do not have to use human motels. There are other options.”

“Your nests? That you can’t fly up to?”

“That is one option.” His hand moved lower, and for a moment, Cole considered throwing back the blankets and getting out of bed before Akai discovered how much Cole wanted to stay in bed.

Yet at the same time, it was nice waking up next to someone, held in their embrace, and being wanted.

He wanted to be able to close his eyes, relax, and enjoy, but it was so damn hard when he was worried about everything else. “We’ll figure it out.”

“How do you know that?”

“Because we have to if this is going to work.” Akai rolled and pulled Cole beneath him. “Because there is fun in figuring things out together.”

“Is there?” He was far too aware of Akai’s dick pressing against his thigh, and the way his was sandwiched between them.

“Yes.” Akai kissed him slowly. “If we can’t figure things out together, there is no point in being together.”

“Oh, so making me drive you is a test?”

“Yes, but that is not why I asked.” Akai moved, aligning his length against Cole’s.

“Why did you ask?”

“I felt as though you owed me for shooting me. Then I remembered how sad and alone you were whenever I watched you—”

“Stalker.” He’d spent plenty of time on the land and building the cabin, if not sad, then definitely alone. He’d also walked around naked, jerked off when he wanted, and behaved as if he were the only human alive.

Akai grinned, revealing his pointy little teeth. “You looked like you needed friends and a party. I want to see you have fun.” He rocked his hips, thrusting against him, not demanding anymore.

Their lips met, and they rearranged their legs so Cole could meet each thrust, grinding against the silky hair on Akai’s belly. It tickled every nerve, and then some, sending a shiver down his spine.

Akai nuzzled at his neck. “You like this.”

“Yes.” The word was a breathy whisper. He hooked a leg over Akai’s, needing more purchase, even though Akai appeared to be in no rush.

His tongue flicked over his pulse and traced the underside of his jaw. “Don’t rush for the end.”

“The end is the point.” He was not driving with blue balls all day because Akai wanted to tease.

“Yes, but sometimes it’s better to take your time.” Akai lifted off him enough that Cole could slide his hand between–Akai caught it and pinned it next to Cole’s head. “I didn’t move for your hand. I moved to watch.”

Cole glanced down at the way Akai’s pale dick rubbed against his ruddy one. The shine of pre-cum on his skin and hanging off the hair on Akai’s belly. Now there wasn’t enough friction, even though it felt good. If it bothered Akai, it didn’t show on his face or his movements.

If he reached down with his other hand, would Akai also pin that?

“I’m dying,” Cole whispered.

“No, you’re not. You’re impatient.”

Fuck it. He moved his free hand, only for Akai to catch it before it got lower than his belly button.

A ripple of pleasure raced down his spine, and more pre-cum slipped free.

Akai glanced up at him.

Cole’s cheeks heated, but Akai didn’t say anything. He didn’t need to. They’d both learned something new, and the day had barely begun.

Akai leaned down and licked the curve of his ear. “Whoever comes first has to finish the other and swallow every drop.”

He lowered his hips, giving Cole the friction he craved. He tried to resist, counting the planks on the ceiling, and failed before he reached five. He groaned as he came, hands firmly pinned to the bed, trapped beneath Akai.

“Too easy,” Akai whispered as he lifted and shunted his knees forward, bringing his slick dick closer to Cole’s face. “Should I let go?”

His fingers eased enough that Cole could pull his hands free if he wanted.

He didn’t. He slid down the bed until his hands were over his head, and Akai’s glistening dick was almost touching his lips.

He opened his mouth. Even though he hadn’t agreed to the bet, he hadn’t refused either.

The idea of it had been part of what had gotten him off.

His cheeks were still hot from the idea.

Akai thrust forward, sliding the first couple of inches into his mouth.

His pale dick tasted of Cole’s cum. It only took a few small rearrangements for Akai to be thrusting band-deep into his mouth, the head of his dick hitting the back of his throat.

He lifted his head, so the band slipped past his lips and deeper into his throat.

Akai grunted and worked that band over his lips, barely giving him time to breathe.

His wings opened half a second before cum flooded his mouth.

Cole swallowed, even though it didn’t taste like any kind of cum he was used to.

And swallowed again before Akai slowly drew back and flopped onto his side.

He ran a fingertip over the corner of Cole’s lips. “Missed a bit.”

He opened his mouth and licked the clawed finger. “Maybe next time let me breathe?”

“You were breathing. I can tell from your scent and pulse that you liked it.”

Cole closed his eyes like that would make the heat on his face vanish. He had liked it, all of it. Each new discovery was slightly worse than the previous one.

He found Akai attractive.

He liked the feel of his fur on his skin.

He liked being fucked by the stream, where anyone might have stumbled on him riding the monster’s dick.

He liked being pinned down by the monster.

Akai kissed him. “I liked it too.” He liked the band being stimulated, which was knowledge Cole would use another time to his advantage. “We should probably pack the truck and get going.”

“We should.” But he didn’t want to face the world. “Shower and breakfast first. Then I will show you the route I am taking, and you can tell me what monster motels exist along the way.”

Neither of them moved.

“You want to stay here and fuck?” Akai murmured.

Did he not want to face the world either? “That is the easy choice, isn’t it? The one where we ignore the rest of the world and keep meeting on the weekends to fuck.”

Akai’s gaze drifted over Cole’s naked body. “It is. How long until neither of us is happy with that choice?”

“Not long enough.” But admitting that didn’t make it any easier to get up and get moving.
