Siasia, the older of two, has practically raised her ten-year-old stepsister while her mother remains married to a man whose abuse and gambling darken their home, dancing at a club and taking photography gigs as she hopes to become a renowned photographer.

When the two meet, their very different lives offer the same unexpected relief.

Closeness makes room for the fears they usually hide, and Qamar’s push to carry his family higher begins to feel hollow once he admits they have already reached that height and planted a flag there.
