Chapter 30 The Oracle's Eues
The night air in Chandlok had begun to shift.
The palace walls no longer held peace. Whispers carried further than footsteps, and the stars overhead flickered like warning signs no one could decode.
Inside her chamber, Sana stood before the mirror.
Her mangalsutra shimmered softly against her collarbone, reacting again-not just to Hatim's presence, but to something deeper within her. She'd begun hearing echoes. Seeing glimpses. Feeling things before they happened.
Was this... magic?
Or madness?
She didn't know.
But someone else did.
---
The next morning, a message arrived sealed with blue wax and an unfamiliar crest.
> "The Oracle has summoned you," the guard told her.
(Oracle - A timeless seer from the ancient Skyblood line, who remembers possible futures and guards the secret fate of the Akhira. Not always clear. Never fully trusted. But always watching.)
Sana looked at the seal. It pulsed faintly in her hands. As if alive.
Hatim found her minutes later, already dressed in her travel robe.
> "You're going?" he asked, folding his arms.
> "She called me."
> "She didn't call me."
Sana looked at him, smiling softly.
> "Maybe because you already know who you are. I don't."
Hatim said nothing for a long while.
Then:
> "Take a blade. And Meher. And if anything feels wrong-don't be brave. Be safe."
She nodded.
But what she didn't say was: It already feels wrong.
---
The Oracle's temple sat at the edge of the Sapphire Cliffs.
Winds howled like beasts, and the fog clung to Sana's shoulders like a second veil.
Inside, the Oracle waited.
A woman older than time, with skin like dried parchment and eyes glazed over in silver mist.
> "Come forward, flame girl," she rasped.
Sana stepped forward, knees weak.
> "I'm... I'm not magic. Everyone says I'm-"
> "You are magic," the Oracle cut in. "But your magic was never born from fire or air or water."
She reached out, touching Sana's wrist.
> "Yours is the power of memory. Of blood. Of bonds tied before time itself."
Sana's breath caught.
> "What does that mean?"
The Oracle smiled.
> "It means, child... you were never meant to burn bright. You were meant to ignite others."
She placed a thin hand over Sana's heart.
> "When the stars fall, and the darkness rises... only you will remember the truth of what Chandlok once was. And what it must become again."
---
Back at the palace, Hatim stood on the northern terrace, cloak whipping in the wind.
He felt it-like something inside him was cracking open.
His palms sparked.
Not the soft gold flames he used in training, but wild, blue fire. Ice and heat tangled together.
He fell to his knees, gasping.
Roshni appeared behind him, eyes wide.
> "Your control," she said. "You're losing it."
Hatim's eyes glowed silver for half a second.
> "No," he said quietly. "I'm evolving."
---
Sana returned by dusk.
Hatim met her in the corridor, took one look at her face, and pulled her into a room before anyone could see.
> "What happened?" he asked.
She looked up at him. And then, for the first time in days, she cried.
But not out of pain. Out of knowing.
> "They were wrong about me," she whispered.
> "Who?"
> "Everyone."
Hatim pulled her into his arms.
> "Not everyone," he said. "Never me."
---
That night, Sana dreamed of a crown - not of gold, but of silver leaves and broken promises.
She stood on a cliff, wind howling.
Below her, war drums beat.
And beside her...
Hatim. Wearing black armor, hands blazing with magic, and eyes full of something between love and fury.
> "Are you ready?" (in dream-)Hatim asked.
Sana reached for his hand.
> "I don't think we ever are."

?? Author's Note:
Chapter 30 just cracked open the lore egg, besties ???? The Oracle?? The memories?? Sana's power as a spark instead of a flame?? It's all COMING TOGETHER ??
Also, Hatim's magic is shifting-and that's either gonna save or end the world, let's be real ????
Comment if your brain is spiraling from all this prophecy + passion chaos, and stay tuned for Chapter 31 - because the war drums aren't just in Sana's dreams anymore ????
