Epilogue
?
C yan and Steele slowly walked up to the castle, with Steele wrapping an arm around Cyan’s shoulders.
The double doors opened with a big welcoming bang , without their having to touch anything.
Was the Beacon doing that too? Cyan didn’t care as the welcome this time was obvious. That was good enough for her.
They walked inside with everybody else smiling and introducing themselves. She looked over at Terk and shared, “It took a bit, but I did get here eventually.”
He laughed. “That you did. Now, hopefully, we don’t have the same theatrics every time somebody comes to visit via the Beacon signal. This was a rough start to the Beacon’s existence.”
She frowned at him and asked, “Do you think it’ll be every time somebody comes to visit, or is it more about somebody coming to visit that the Beacon doesn’t know about or doesn’t know personally?”
Terk shrugged. “That’s possible, but not exactly something I particularly want to happen. We have a lot of people who come here,” he noted, “so I don’t think it’s about strangers visiting.”
Celia added, “The Beacon is literally focused on safety and danger. As long as everybody coming is safe, then I think it’s a nonissue for the Beacon. After all, Steele wasn’t problematic, but that other energy he carried was.”
“And, until Brent’s energy was cleared up, there was no way for me or for Cyan to get in, with our joined energies—which is another fascinating conversation to have,” Steele noted. “We were also wondering whether you guys had this thing about matchmaking.”
Terk snorted. “I don’t, but the women around this place, they might.”
Celia looked over at Steele and asked, “What do you mean?”
“Because of the bond between us now, we were wondering if that might have been something the Beacon put together.” He hesitated then explained about how the two of them had met years ago. “I know it sounds a bit far-fetched, but…”
Her eyes widened, and she glanced from Cyan to Steele. “I don’t know for sure, but it is certainly something we’ll have to keep an eye on.” She glanced around at the other women and asked, “Right, ladies?”
Immediately the other women nodded, and one of them added, “It would be an interesting side effect of all the tweaks we made to the Beacon.”
“Tweaks you made?” Steele asked, confused.
Celia nodded. “It started off as simply a homing device, calling home everybody involved in this kind of work,” she explained, “but then it felt like it was being hijacked by somebody, or something, and we didn’t know how or what.
So more tweaking followed to regain control.
And more healing, more loving energy was interjected.
And, in the process, the Beacon seems to have developed its own sense of what it wants here.
It recognizes the balance of energy we’ve built inside the castle, and I believe the Beacon is ultimately searching for the same balance outside,” she shared, with a laugh.
“So, although we can monitor it, that doesn’t necessarily mean we have full control over it. ”
As she glanced again to Cyan and to Steele, she suggested, “So, this is definitely something we’ll keep an eye on and see what happens with anybody else who’s coming.
The thing is, the Beacon is a good thing.
All the energy we put into the Beacon is based on love.
It’s healing and loving energy at its very foundation.
What are the chances that it got a little of our matchmaking gift along with that energy? ”
Terk groaned. “We don’t need more matchmaking around here. Particularly not if the Beacon, who can read energy at a vast distance that we would have to work hard to see, is determined to pair up our visitors.”
“Do you know of others arriving soon?” Steele asked, his gaze going from one to the other, before finally landing on Terk.
“Yes and no.” Terk sighed. “Now I sound like the Beacon. Basically my answer is that the door is always open. I just can’t tell you who might be coming at any given time,” he explained.
Then Steele winced, rubbing his head with a groan, announcing, “Apparently somebody else is coming, whether you’re ready or not.”
“And is that a psychic intuition?” Cyan asked him, watching as his pain slowly started to recede. “Or was it literally the Beacon slamming into you too?”
“Too?” Steele asked, his eyebrows shooting up. “Is it communicating with you too?”
She nodded. “I got a message that somebody else will be knocking on that door.”
Terk stared at her for a long hard moment, then switched to Steele. “Are you both saying you can talk to the Beacon?”
“I can,” Steele confirmed. “I was talking to the Beacon the entire time I was out there with Brent.”
Astonished, everybody turned to look at the two of them.
Cyan nodded. “I can as well, but that could be because of our shared energies now. What’s his is mine, and what’s mine is his, apparently.”
Steele burst out laughing at that.
It was such a joyous sound that Cyan grinned. “It could also be a side effect of our being involved in the Beacon’s plans for Brent,” she noted. “Regardless, I absolutely heard that somebody was approaching.” She turned to Steele.
He frowned, adding, “The Beacon’s not terribly happy about it.”
“ Great ,” one of the men muttered, as he stood up. “What does that mean?”
Cyan turned to Steele. “Something about bringing a problem .”
Steele nodded. “ She is bringing a problem.”
Cyan studied his face for a long moment. Then it hit her in full technicolor. She laughed and announced, “You’re right. A female presence is arriving, and a talented one at that.”
Hearing that, one of the men declared, chuckling, “Women energy workers are more likely to be healers. And, if a healer is headed here, that’s good news. We will happily accept all the healers who come to meet us. We have people in need all over the world.”
“We can never have too many healers,” Cara agreed, with a gentle smile.
She motioned to several other women in the room.
“When we join together, our abilities are heightened, so the more the merrier.” She paused, staring at Cyan more closely, then suggested in that same calm voice, “Anytime you want to join us, you would be very welcome.”
That invitation was a gift in itself, one Cyan appreciated.
“Thank you, and if you ever need a healer and I’m not here, feel free to connect.
If I can help, I will.” She asked Steele, “Did you get her name?” A name was coming through for her, but she wasn’t sure whether she was getting that intuitively or reading his energy and getting the name from him.
“I did. I got Robin.”
“Yeah, me too.” She added, “And she knows you, Terk, from a very long time ago.”
He stared at her and shook his head. “I’m not sure I know a Robin.”
“She’s coming to see you specifically because she needs help.”
“Not surprising,” Terk noted. “So often, that is why people come here.”
Cyan smiled. “Even though the trouble is coming with her, the Beacon is already alerted.”
I’m ready.
