Chapter 4 – FIRST NIGHT
Chapter Four
FIRST NIGHT
With a nod, Steel took Indigo’s hand and led her to a small room at the back of the clubhouse. It was filled with little more than a rough-hewn bed and a few simple amenities. As he closed the door behind them, he could feel Indigo's eyes on his back, assessing every move he made.
He turned to face her, silhouetted by the dim light. She stood there, her chin lifted defiantly, molecules of air separating them. “Don't push me,” he warned. “You don't know what I’m capable of.”
Indigo smirked, playing with the hem of her shirt. “And I want to find out?”
He laughed, dark and hard. “You have no idea.”
As he approached her, he could feel the heat emanating from her body. She stood her ground, meeting his gaze with a fierce intensity he hadn't seen before. It was almost as if she was daring him to make the first move.
Without another word, he grabbed her by the hair, pulling her head back gently but firmly.
She gasped, surprised but not hurt. His mouth crashed down on hers.
It was cold and hard at first, then softening as she moaned into him.
For a moment, he allowed himself to get lost in the kiss, tasting her lips, feeling the shape of them against his own.
He moved his hand down her body, tracing the curve of her waist and hips, his fingers brushing against her lower stomach. She shivered at his touch, her body responding despite her best efforts to resist.
“Do you really want to know what I'm capable of?” he rumbled.
Indigo swallowed hard, her heart hammering against her ribcage. For a moment, she considered running, but something inside her wouldn't let her. She was drawn to the danger, to the challenge of being with a man like Steel.
“Don't hold back for my sake,” she whispered, her voice catching in her throat.
And for the first time in years, Steel felt something other than coldness.
He let his true self shine through, his darkest desires taking hold.
He ravaged her body, claiming her as his.
She was his now, and he would do whatever it took to make her see that.
As the night wore on, their bodies entangled in a dance of lust and power, Steel knew that this was no ordinary marriage, it was a union of two souls destined to burn bright or burn out.
Indigo’s gaze never left his as they made their way back to the main room, fueled by a mix of nervous excitement and trepidation.
She knew this was just the beginning of a completely new world for her.
A world where rules were different, and she had to adapt quickly or face severe consequences.
Though every fiber in her being wanted to run and never look back, she found herself strangely drawn to the clubhouse, drawn to the men she saw around them.
There was something about their brotherhood, the fierce loyalty that bound them together, which made her feel safe despite the danger lurking beyond the walls.
As they settled in for the night, Indigo couldn't help but feel a strange mixture of anticipation and apprehension.
She had agreed to this marriage of convenience, but she didn't know what to expect from Steel.
His cold demeanor had already given way to possessiveness once, and she knew he wouldn't hesitate to take control if she pushed him too far.
In the darkened room, Indigo lay awake long after Steel had fallen asleep, staring up at the ceiling.
She could hear his steady breathing, feel the warmth of his body next to hers.
Despite their tumultuous start, there was no denying the chemistry between them.
She wondered if maybe, just maybe, there was more to Steel than met the eye.
Perhaps she could be the one to break through his tough exterior and uncover the man hiding beneath the hardened exterior.
With a sigh, she turned over, trying to get comfortable on the hard mattress.
Tomorrow would be another day, and she had to be prepared for whatever it brought.
She knew now that running was no longer an option.
She was in too deep, and the only way out was through.
So, she closed her eyes and tried to get some sleep, knowing that whatever came next, she would face it head-on, just like she always had.
