Chapter 7 – A DANGEROUS OBSESSION

Chapter Seven

A DANGEROUS OBSESSION

Indigo jerked awake, her heart pounding in her chest. She couldn’t shake the feeling that she was being watched.

She glanced over at Steel who was fast asleep beside her and breathed a sigh of relief.

It was just a nightmare, that's all. She forced herself to stillness, lying there for a few more minutes, trying to calm her racing heart.

She thought she was safe with him. He was the bane of her existence, both the source of her terror and the only one who could protect her. But what if he wasn't enough? The bounty on her head loomed heavy, and the cartel’s threats were never far from her mind.

She slipped out of bed quietly, dressing in one of Steel’s oversized shirts before tiptoeing out of the room.

As soon as her feet hit the floor, she heard voices coming from downstairs.

They were low, hushed, but she recognized them all too well.

The cartel was here. She crept down the stairs, her heart in her throat.

She needed to warn Steel, but she didn't want to wake him.

The voices grew louder, and she saw shadows moving outside the window.

She gasped, her breath catching in her throat. They were there to kidnapped her!

She raced back upstairs, intruding on Steel’s slumber. “They’ve found me!” she whispered urgently, shaking him awake. He came to life instantly, his eyes narrowing as he took in the situation. Without a word, he launched out of bed, grabbing his rifle and moving silently down the stairs.

Together, they crept outside. The moonlight illuminated the scene: armed men, surrounding the house. Steel let out a low growl, his facade crumbling as he realized what was happening. “You bastards! Do you think I’ll let you take her?”

The gunfire was deafening; Steel was in his element, killing without remorse.

She watched him, amazed and terrified all at once.

He wasn’t just protecting her, he was defending her like she was his own.

As the last of the men fell, she looked at Steel in awe.

He was a force to be reckoned with, a man willing to do anything to keep her safe.

After the smoke cleared, he turned to her, his eyes smoldering with fury desire, maybe.

He pulled her close, burying his face in her neck.

“You’re not going anywhere without me.” She couldn’t help but melt under his touch, and his strength.

He had claimed her in more ways than one tonight, and she knew she was in too deep.

As the adrenaline wore off, they cleaned up the mess and waited for reinforcements.

She looked at him then, seeing past the tough exterior he’d created.

He was scared too, but for some reason, that only made her love him more.

He may not have been the most romantic man, but he was there when it counted.

“We need to talk,” he said, his voice gruff.

For once, he initiated the conversation, revealing a vulnerable side she hadn't seen before. They sat in the living room, both bursting with unspoken words. His hand found hers, squeezing gently. “I can’t lose you. Not like this. I won’t let them separate us.

” She looked at him, swallowing hard. “You never gave me a choice,” she said softly.

He pulled her into his lap, his hands running through her hair as he kissed her gently. “You got me, didn’t you?” she whispered against his lips. He groaned, his face buried in her neck. “Yeah, I did,” he replied, nuzzling her skin.

He kissed a trail down her neck and across her collarbone, his lips burning a path.

She shivered, her body responding despite the danger.

She wanted him to take her, to make her forget about the cartel for a little while.

And he did. Their lovemaking was rough and urgent, fueled by the fear and adrenaline of the night.

When they finally came up for air, they held each other tight.

“You’re mine,” he growled, planting kisses all over her face.

She smiled, feeling the warmth spread through her.

“And you’re stuck with me,” she replied, running her fingers through his tattooed skin.

He chuckled darkly. “You’re damn straight. ”

But the danger wasn’t over yet. They were still at war with the cartel, and they both knew it.

Every day was a fight for survival. They clung to each other, trying to hold onto something solid in the chaos around them.

Slowly, over time, they built something real, something that thrived in the midst of danger.

Indigo started seeing past Steel’s tough exterior. There was a man underneath who’d been hurt before, scarred by love and loss. She wanted to heal him, to be the light in his darkness. They made a pact to face the cartel together and to build something beautiful on the other side of this war.

It wasn’t always easy. They argued, they pushed each other's buttons. But they always came back to this: they were stronger together. Steel had given her dreams back, and she was determined to give him the one thing he truly wanted.

But for now, they basked in the afterglow, holding onto each other like their lives depended on it, because they did.

Indigo couldn't shake the feeling that she was being watched.

Her heart raced, and she forced herself to calm down as she realized it was just another nightmare.

She glanced over at Steel, fast asleep beside her, and took a deep breath, trying to regain her composure.

As the morning light crept in through the windows, she woke up properly, the nightmare still fresh in her mind.

Her gaze fell on Steel, his strong, tattooed body rippling with sleep.

She hated how much he meant to her. He was her protector, her savior, but he was also her downfall.

She was falling for him, and that terrified her.

She knew the cartel wasn’t done with her.

They’d put a bounty on her head, and she couldn’t help but feel like a pawn in their twisted game.

But Steel was there for her, always, and that scared her more than anything else.

She didn't want to be a burden to him, but she also couldn't deny the way he made her feel.

She slipped out of bed quietly, dressing in one of his oversized shirts before tiptoeing out of the room.

As she crept downstairs, she heard voices coming from the living room.

Her blood ran cold as she realized it was the cartel, right outside their home.

Her mind raced as she considered her options.

She saw Steel rush towards the window, his silhouette imposing as he loaded his rifle. She watched, frozen in fear, as he took aim and opened fire. The bullets hit their marks, and the men fell one by one. He killed them all, without remorse.

As the days turned into weeks, they built a life together, forging a bond that no one could ever break.

Steel rebuilt her tattoo shop, making it their sanctuary against the chaos outside.

He took her advice and added his own touches, like an engraved leather tattoo chair and artwork that reflected her passion.

The new shop was a testament to their shared dreams and the strength of their connection.

One night, while they were making love, Indigo whispered something softly into Steel’s ear, a secret desire she'd been harboring. They both gasped, their bodies rocking together as they explored this new territory. It wasn’t just about pleasure anymore; it was about trust, vulnerability, and a willingness to give in to the fire between them.

After the battle was won, Indigo and Steel built a home together.

She painted walls, and he installed bulletproof windows.

They spent lazy mornings in bed, making up for lost time.

She sketched his tattoos, and he helped her practice her art.

They grew together, both healing from old wounds and creating a future full of hope and possibility.

But fate had one last curveball for them.

One of their fellow MC members betrayed them.

They were feeding information to the cartel, leading to a surprise attack on Indigo’s shop.

It was a moment of pure terror, but in the end, their bond only grew stronger.

They weathered the storm, coming out the other side with a deep sense of gratitude for each other.

Steel carried her into the safehouse, his love for her radiating from his every pore.

As they lay in bed, recovering from their injuries, their thoughts turned to their new life.

They had survived the cartel, but the conflict still loomed, threatening to tear them apart.

Indigo looked up at Steel, her eyes full of wonder. It wasn't just his bravery that she admired; it was his willingness to sacrifice everything for her. She knew she couldn't let him down. “I don’t want us to be together just because of a deal,” she murmured, tracing her fingers over his chest.

His dark eyes met hers. “What are you saying, girl?”

She took a deep breath before continuing, her heart pounding in her chest. “I want this, Steel. Us,” she said, nodding towards him. “I don’t want to run away from it anymore.”

Steel felt relief wash over him. He never thought she’d come around, especially after all they’d been through.

“Are you sure, baby?” he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

She nodded, her lips finding the warm skin of his neck.

He lost himself in the moment, their love making fierce and intense, fueled by their newfound commitment.

In the aftermath, they held each other close, promising to face whatever came next, together.

Their bond was unbreakable, forged in fire and blood.

As they looked toward a future without the cartel, they knew it wouldn't be easy, but they would do it together.

Indigo and Steel found their happily ever after in that moment, their hearts beating as one, and their dreams becoming reality.
