Chapter Four

Gunner nodded. “I agree with you there. And from what I understand, it was Lester and Sarah that did all of that, correct?”

“All of it,” Stitches confirmed. “They devised this plan to get rid of Train. Then when Gina survived, they simply kept her to make sure Train would never be cleared of the crime he did not commit. Then they would get her money one day.”

Gunner looked disgusted about what he just heard. “Let’s just hope we can get her away from those two. Then we can bring her back here to her husband and daughter.”

“And if Gina is weak,” Andy added. “Sarah will be happy as she can control her easier. The way she did Train today... hurting him like that was to make sure he couldn’t interfere.

Same reason they framed him all those years ago.

They don’t give a shit about Gina, Gabby, or Train.

All they care about is the green. That’s all they have ever cared about. ”

“I hope that green can keep them cooled off in hell. Cause they are gonna burn.” King looked enraged.

“Prez, you gotta calm down,” Stitches advised. “I know this is hard on you too, but losing your own cool isn’t gonna help.” He rose up and patted him on the back. “I’m gonna go and check on my patient. Commando and Gabby have stayed by Train all day.” He headed down the hall.

Twenty minutes later...

Grizzly got a ping on his phone. He looked down to read it then he raised his head and smiled slightly. “They found them. They were at that house. Jett and Boone are watching them, hoping they can just go in and catch them unawares.”

“And Gina?” Andy asked. “Can they see her?”

Grizzly nodded. “Yeah, they say Sarah is watching her carefully though. They are planning on moving in as soon as they can do it safely.”

“Are you going to send more agents in?” Gunner wanted to know.

Grizzly shook his head. “Jett texted that he doesn’t want anyone else going in.

He said there would be too many Indians in the kitchen.

That’s an inside joke.” He smirked as he referred to Jett being Cherokee.

“Instead, I’ll send more agents to watch over the house in case those Double Devils come back expecting more money for more drugs. That’s where we need the agents.”

He turned to Tameria and asked, “Do you know how many days a week she went to Cedar Park? Like which days of the week she went?”

Tameria shrugged. “I only followed her there twice and the visits were three days apart. Monday and Thursday. I don’t know when it was before or after that.”

Grizzly nodded. “I can let them know about that then. I just wish I knew where those pills were made and who made them.”

Avery looked over at Gunner and asked, “You said you knew the MC that passed the red pills to Sarah? You said they were Double Devils, right?”

Gunner nodded.

Avery looked at King and told him, “In the files I gave you guys there is a recurring payment going out to D.D. I never know who these people are because she never writes out their full name, only their initials.”

Grizzly glanced at Gunner and raised an eyebrow. Then he looked back at Avery. “What kind of payment did she make to this D.D.?”

Avery seemed to think about this then she replied, “It was quite a big amount...that’s what doesn’t make sense, I mean she picked up money twice a week then she paid them cash every week on top of the money she sent them every month?”

“Yeah,” King grumbled. “Why would she pay them twice?”

“Because she’s paying them off for making the pills,” Grizzly explained.

“Then she’s paying them from the dealers and on top of all that, she’s getting a share of the profits.

It’s beginning to look like Sarah is backing the drug deals.

In other words, she’s neck deep in this drug operation from the manufacturing to the distribution. ”

Gunner snorted. “Now all we have to do is find proof we can use in a court to prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt.”

Grizzly grunted. “But with Avery’s help, we might be able to find a starting point. But first, we have to get our own recording of the pickup and drop off points.”

Tameria looked a bit excited as she seemed to remember something.

“I don’t know if this is anything or not, but that old church had cameras and there’s a house across the street from it that also has cameras.

” She shrugged. “I don’t know if the church cameras work or not but the ones across the street should work?

Like they have a Ring camera but then I noticed another one too. ”

Grizzly’s smile widened and he looked over at Gunner and said, “She might be onto something there, boss. We will need a warrant to check those cameras.”

“You could check the house once Sarah and Lester are out of there for trace evidence of the pills,” Tameria suggested. “Sarah isn’t exactly an OCD cleaner, I’m just saying. She’s a total slob.”

Andy chuckled and added, “You got that right. She just brushes crumbs out of her way most of the time rather than get up and wipe something down.”

Gunner stared at Tameria for a long moment. “What exactly do you do for a living? You seem up to date on police procedures.”

Tameria smiled faintly and admitted, “I work in admin at the local cop shop.”

Gunner just stared at her. “And do you pass on information to your family? About police procedures?”

Tameria snorted. “You know after seven years of working, my family never asked what I do outside the house. Why would I tell them anything? As long as I pay Lester every other week, he doesn’t care what or how I’m earning my salary.”

King growled under his breath and turned to glare at Gunner.

Gunner didn’t say a word, just shook his head.

King swung his gaze back to Tameria and asked, “Your family doesn’t even know what you do for a living?”

Tameria just stared at him. “My family doesn’t care what I do as long as I bring the money home.

” She shrugged then said, “I told them I had a bakery job and I gave them three quarters of what I brought home. I lied to keep most of my paycheck and they never verified it, so I kept my mouth shut. Working admin meant I stayed out of the front office and just submitted data into a computer. So no one saw me, and no one reported back to Lester that I was working for the police.” She snorted, “And I sure as hell wasn’t gonna tell them. ”

“Can I ask you something?”

Turning her head, she saw Stitches had asked this as he came back to the table. “Sure,” she replied with a nod.

“Do they take so much money from you that you...um, have to dress like that?” he asked.

“Peering down at the oversized and somewhat dirty look she wore, she raised her head up. Then she chuckled. “I dress like a street kid. On purpose.”

He smiled at her. “Ok... I’m sorry I didn’t mean....”

She laughed. “It’s a disguise really. Not that I own anything expensive. No...that isn’t possible in my life. But all of this was to make it so no one notices me while I followed Sarah recently.”

Stitches smiled at her then got a ping on his phone. After he read the text, he turned and ran down the hall toward the Infirmary.

King frowned and looked after him, then he got up and walked down the hall as well.

Tameria turned her head to ask Andy, “What is happening?”

Andy’s eyes filled with tears. “Stitches is the doctor here. Like you heard earlier, my mother struck again. She and grandpa broke in here while everyone was busy protecting this place. She pistol-whipped King’s son Train and I hope Train isn’t worse off than we thought.”

Tameria shook her head. “I knew she was a horrible person but that’s just too much.

Then they all heard shouting coming from the Infirmary. Everyone got up and rushed down the hall.
