Chapter 9
Stone
“I love you, Cage,” she whispers the words I longed to hear from her mouth, “and I love you even more knowing how much you care for my sister. I want forever with you.”
I gently chew my bottom lip while waiting for Kelly to complete my order, or more like Caleb's order this morning, as Rose’s words come back to me. Words I have wanted to hear for five fucking months, and I look at my wedding ring.
We’ve been married for five months, and she has no idea, and I can’t even seem to give a shit that she’ll be upset with me. Our connection, it’s fucking everything and I think it’s time my dad found out the truth.
I’m done with his fear.
“I love you too, Rose, so fucking much,” I whisper back, and her eyes tear up before she presses her lips against mine, and I hold her tighter to me, kissing her back with just as much passion.
After spending the evening with my girl and her sister, trying to help her through her first heartbreak, I spent the night making love to Rose.
Showing her I meant every word while repeating them several times as we made love until she understood, I do, in fact love her too.
That I was hers and she was mine before I had to leave her this morning for church but obviously lied which I hate to do and said it was work.
I promised Kimberly I’ll leave the shovel in my truck if she wants to commit murder, which made the sweet fifteen-year-old laugh. I had to physically drag myself away from my wife because today she’s spending it with Donna.
Apparently, they haven’t had enough girl time, or that is what Donna said when she called me, taking my number from my girl’s phone and demanded I stay away today. To make things worse, I’m going to be gone for three days on a club run.
We’re meeting up with the Huntsmen this time, before meeting up with the Cartel delivering the gear from our club and the Huntsmen’s. It a longer time away from my wife, who again, has no idea is my wife.
Fuck only the officer brothers know, my mama doesn’t even know, and yeah, she’s going to kill me, that is if my wife doesn’t first when she finds out.
I sigh as I run a hand through my hair with frustration.
I’m fucking fed up with lying to her, with keeping a part of me from her, but for five months, my dad has pleaded with me not to divorce Elsie.
After seeing my disconnect to not even pretend in front of the club anymore, not realizing we’re already divorced, and honestly, he looked fucking desperate but I just fucking can’t anymore.
I eye my wedding ring again.
Elsie hasn’t noticed it’s different, but I didn’t really expect her to. She wanted a big ass fucking rock and diamonds around the band when we got married, but instead I bought her a $50 thin gold band that she only wears because she wants everyone to know that I married her.
She doesn’t give a shit about my ring as long as I wear it in public.
“Stone!” I hear snapped from behind gaining my attention, bringing me out of my head, and I turn before I silently groan, seeing Elsie and my sister walk into the diner.
Their faces like thunder, and both dressed the same in miniskirts, tight strappy tops that are see through and of course my sister has no fucking bra on, and high heels.
I gag in disgust and grab my phone before taking a picture, and I state, “Selena, get your ass home and dressed, or this photo is going to Dad, and you can kiss goodbye to your credit card that I know you have been allowing Elsie to use after I cut her off, like an idiot.”
Selena’s eyes widen, clearly shocked I knew what she had been doing and I raise a brow.
I may have been busy these past five months, but I’m not fucking stupid. I just couldn’t be bothered with the hassle. Dad was stupid enough to get a card in her name, not me.
Selena looks at Elsie before looking at me, and knowing I mean every fucking word, she turns on her high heels and quickly runs out of the diner. I point my finger at the bitch who's now scowling, and I snap, “Stay the fuck away from my sister.”
“She’s my sister-in-law,” she says with a sly smile, and I sneer, “Nah, she’s your meal ticket now that you can’t use my card.”
Elsie smirks, and my anger boils at her blatant nonchalant attitude, not caring that she’s using Selena or giving a shit about the pain my sister is going to be in when she realizes the bitch was never her friend, pissing me off, and the urge to shoot her hits.
With a tick in my jaw and knowing I don’t have a choice, that Elsie will keep using Selena, I quickly send the photo to my dad, and I quickly type.
Me:
Elsie’s been using the card you gave Selena and this is how she convinced your daughter to dress, in public no less. She’s now using your daughter to keep her lifestyle. Still want me married to her?
I press send and, ignoring my ex-wife, I turn around to wait for Caleb’s chicken and rice that he demanded, not wanting his dad to cook it.
Let’s face it, if Dirty tries to cook it, he’ll get food poisoning and I’ll end up burning the kitchen down which wouldn’t be the first time – long fucking story…
Caleb wasn’t planned, just like Cole, Trigger's son, but where Ashley loves her son more than anything in this world and always chooses him, Caleb’s mama is a patch chaser.
She works at Rebel’s Honeys and had poked holes in his condom.
She flits in and out of the boy's life, but he doesn’t like her.
The kids got a great judge of character, I mean, he loves Rose and has talked nonstop about her, including demanding that I divorce Elsie and date her. The brothers thought that was hilarious, and even my dad grinned.
It was the only time he actually grinned at the word divorce.
“Stone,” Elsie snaps, pissed I’m ignoring her.
I growl as she suddenly latches onto my arm, knowing I can’t push her away with a full fucking diner, not without causing rumors and I know I can’t snap her head with too many witnesses.
I look at the back of Kelly’s light purple head and plead silently for her to bring Caleb’s fucking food, I mean it can’t take that long to cook chicken and fucking rice.
“It’s our wedding anniversary, Stone, twelve years, and you haven’t answered my calls, you’ve been MIA from the club for months and whenever I’ve tried to walk in, I’m kicked out despite being your wife,” she sighs as she leans her head on my arm and my jaw ticks as she murmurs, “All I’m asking for is a date with my husband. ”
Her words grate on me, and Dad's pleas are now falling on deaf ears.
She’s not my wife, Rose is, the marriage certificate proves that, and I am done playing fucking nice with this patch chaser that I only married because it was the right thing to do at the time.
I place my hand on her hip as I look down at her and smile softly, a smile I usually give Rose, causing Elsie to smile widely.
I hear the bell for the diner door ring following a gasp but I ignore it as I state, “You are a patch chaser, you don’t love me, you love my cut but guess what,” I lean down as Elsie stiffens in my hold and I grip her hip tightly, ensuring it hurts and I sneer, “Your time is coming to an end. I don’t want you, I never have, and if you hadn’t bullshitted about being pregnant, I never would have married you at eight-fucking-teen,” I place my lips near her ear, “You have two weeks to vacate the apartment because the club owns it and will be renting it out. You are no longer leeching off of me, and if you try to use my sister again for money, I’ll kill you. ”
“Stone, I have Caleb's order,” Kelly says with a husk, and I smirk as I step back from my ex-wife, whose breathing has picked up, her face pale, and I turn to Kelly, whom I fucked a few times, and take the order, giving her a wink before leaving the diner and a steaming Elsie behind.
“Sorry, Dad,” I mutter.
“What the fuck did you do?” my dad snaps as I walk into the clubhouse but I don’t look at him as I walk over to Honey, Calebs grandmother, who yes, Rebel’s Honeys was named after much to her dismay. I hand her the bag making her grin wide, her blue eyes shining as she says, “Thank you, sweetheart.”
I chuckle and say, “It’s no problem, got to keep the role of favorite uncle,” and she laughs as the brothers instantly begin to protest. I grin widely before kissing her cheek, and she walks down the hallway to the officer's bedrooms, where the little monster is resting up while his dad is at work.
The clubwhores and prospects are located to the right as you walk into the clubhouse, and the brothers occupy the first and second floors, each sharing a bathroom. Meanwhile, the officer brothers are fortunate enough to have their own room with an en-suite.
“Cage!” my dad snaps when I go to walk away to sit next to Doc, and I stop and turn, raising a brow. He growls, “Don’t give me that look, son. You knew I’d come find you.”
I nod as the brothers look between us, confused, and I state, “Last time I checked, I’m a grown ass fucking man, the VP of this club.”
Dad narrows his eyes as the club tenses, not used to me using my title against him. A title he once held and passed down to me on my twenty-first birthday.
I growl, “I married Elsie out of obligation. She showed me a positive pregnancy test and despite knowing there was a chance the kid may be someone else’s I knew I had to marry her because of your relationship with her dad and the clubs reputation,” I curl my lip, “I told you she faked the miscarriage, I told you she was using me for money, for what the cut represented and yet you still fucking demanded me to stay married to the bitch!”
Dad looks away, ashamed, and I look around the room, noticing Mama also looking away while my sister is nowhere to be seen, as are the clubwhores.
Good.
I state loudly, “This information does not leave this room,” and the brothers nod seriously, as well as the old ladies, and I look at my dad. I admit, “Five months ago, I met a woman,” Doc jumps in, “Actually, I technically introduced them,” causing the officer brothers to chuckle.
Fucker won’t let that one go.
I lock eyes with my dad, and I admit, “he’s the one,” and he slowly closes his eyes, Mama’s, “I told him he’d find the one, but he didn’t believe me,” just hitting my ears.
“Dad,” I say, and he looks at me, “Judge Jones granted the divorce, it was finalized within a few days, five months ago.”
His face pales while my mama gasps in shock, and I take a deep breath and hold up my left hand.
“Hang on, that is not the nasty-looking gold ring he was forced to wear,” Shadow, a brother that works in the garage says loudly.
Dad looks at me from the ring, realization hitting him, but I voice it, “I got Rose to sign a marriage certificate and her sister to sign it as a witness without her realizing as soon as the divorce was done. I married my girl, who has no idea, after a week of knowing her, and a few days ago, I branded her name over my heart.”
You don’t get your girl’s name tattooed on your body unless you see them as your forever and Rose, she is mine.
I drop my hand and state, “I’m done having you try and force me to stay in a marriage I have wanted to leave for years, twelve to be exact, and whatever reason you had, figure it out because I’m done.
Honestly, Dad,” I shake my head, “I’m disappointed in you for forcing me to do this for as long as you have when you knew I wasn’t happy, that she was using me. ”
He drops his head, and I turn and leave the common room, not in the mood for family day.
All I want to do is go to my wife and hold her tightly, but I can’t because I’ve got a run to do.
Entering my room to grab my bag, I quickly type out a message to my girl before sending it with a smile.
Me:
I love you, red, see you in a few days.
I grin as I grab my bag, looking forward to spending a few days inside my wife.
