Chapter 11

Stone – Four Days Later

I chew my bottom lip as I tap the bar, looking at my phone, a little bit of worry coursing through me. I haven’t heard from my wife in four days, since her friend's date with Donna, and the five messages I’ve sent since I got back half an hour ago failed.

Is she mad at me for being gone longer than I said, and couldn’t call her?

I sigh as I run my hand through my hair, ignoring everyone around me.

The feds showed up at our usual meeting point and we came to the conclusion after, Axel, who already had experience with this kind of shit, had mentioned that there’s a mole somewhere in between the clubs when I called him, Steal, Snake and Doc after we were stopped.

Which club we don’t fucking know but it meant hunkering down at a motel while we figured out where was secure to meet, using prepaid fucking phones, not trusting our devices. Now all clubs are doing a fucking scan of all members and hang-arounds to see who tipped the feds off.

Not one member is trusted at the moment, and we were lucky our van didn’t get searched and that we didn’t lose our shipment for the Cartel. Though Dirty did get a warning from the cop that pulled us when he somehow fucking managed a distraction so our van could drive off.

I check my phone again, the club's laughter filling the common room as the brothers celebrate another run completed, even though the feds were called.

Of course, Trigger has disappeared with his mistress as soon as we got back into town, not even going to see his wife, who is sitting at home with their son.

The idiot is going to lose his family, and it’ll be his own fucking fault.

My tension builds when I see no missed calls or messages. Four days of no communication with my wife have not done me any good, and the brothers can see it.

“Hey Stone, you got a minute?” a whiny voice says to my right, and my tension tightens as I look at a dressed-up Elsie, her dress giving the clubwhores a run for their money.

It’s strapless with what looks like a belt across her tits then small strings cross over her stomach holding a tiny bit of fabric that just covers her ass.

It wouldn’t surprise me if she were the mole, but she had no idea we were even going. I made sure she didn’t.

“You’re not allowed on club property after my dad found proof you used my sister for my card, Elsie. Now fuck off before I drag you out by your hair,” I sneer before looking back at my phone, and my jaw ticks.

Still fucking nothing.

“I have a doctor's appointment,” she whispers, ignoring my words, “It’s to confirm I still can’t have kids.”

Surely she can’t think I’m stupid and didn’t look into her accusations from all those years ago about not having kids? Especially not after I married her without legit proof she was pregnant?

Stupid bitch.

I snort and look at her with a brow raise and state, “You mean to make sure your tubes are still tied?”

Elsie freezes, her eyes wide, and I curl my lip at her just as I hear, “Hey Stone, have you seen Tyler?” and I turn my head to see a frantic Ashley rushing over to me while trying to carry her crying ten-year-old, which is no easy feat considering he’s nearly as tall as her.

Elsie chuckles darkly, and I give her a warning look not to open her fucking mouth before I push away from the bar and meet Ashley halfway in the common room. Concern hits, seeing the panic in her eyes, the fear.

“What’s happened?” I ask and she frets, “Cole’s temperature shot through the roof. I tried to call Tyler five times, but he didn’t answer, so I thought maybe he’s still on the run and I tried Doc, but he cancelled the call, so I thought maybe he was working.”

Shit, Doc’s in his office, most likely trying to dodge her calls, knowing what her husband is doing. Fuck, I get Trigger said she’s different, that she’s cheating, but she doesn’t seem like the type.

“I’m here Ash, let me look at him,” Tank says as he appears beside us and takes Cole who cries, “I want Daddy,” and Tank murmurs, “Come here, buddy, I’ve got you, Uncle Stone will get Daddy,” then looks at Ash and nods to the medic room and orders softly, “Come with me,” then gives me a pointed brow and I nod before pushing past Elsie in a rush making her stumble and she gasps but I ignore her and run to the clubwhore rooms as soon as Ashley goes into the medical room next to church.

I run down the hallway, then without knocking, I barge into Virginia’s and Hazel's room, a blinding pink entering my vision.

Trigger jumps back, quickly putting his dick away while a naked Virginia, who is on her knees, her legs parted and has her fingers deep in her pussy turns and grins, probably expecting it to be Trigger’s wife, but scowls seeing me.

“What the fuck, Stone?!” Trigger snaps, and I curl my lip at him in distaste, and for the first time, I admit, “I am fucking disappointed in you!”

Trigger’s eyes widen as Virginia gasps in shock, and I shake my head and nod to his phone and sneer, “Your wife tried calling you five fucking times, then Doc, only to have her call cancelled. It doesn’t matter what the fuck goes on between you both, if she’s calling you more times than fucking normal, you know you need to answer because it’s probably an emergency.

Yet you allow your whore to continue to suck you off as a fuck you all because she stopped sleeping with you! ”

I shake my head at him while he frowns at me with confusion until I state, “Your son is crying for his daddy in the medical room with a high fever!” I curl my lip, “You chose that skank over your own fucking child and if you’d gone home straight away you would have known he wasn’t well.”

His body tenses before within a split second, he finally shows his protectiveness for his family and shoves Virginia away when she goes to touch his thigh and he rushes out of the room, pushing past me but freezes when I call, “You may want to spray some aftershave brother. We both know Virginia sprayed shitloads of perfume in her room so your wife finally sees what you’ve been doing and finally leaves you.

She wants to get you all to herself and get your patch. ”

Trigger curses as he rushes through the mouth of the hallway, and I curl my lip at the bitch who's now pouting, and I sneer, “Get ready to pack bitch because if I have it my way, you’ll be out by the end of the month!”

Virginia gasps, but I ignore her and turn out of the room and grab my phone from my pocket and decide fuck it and call my girl.

“Let her give me an earful for not communicating, I miss her voice,” I mutter as I place the phone to my ear, but I tense as my stomach drops.

“This number is no longer active…”

The automatic woman’s voice sounding out fucking loud, and I slowly move my phone from my ear, a gut feeling filling me.

“Stone,” Doc says as he walks into the mouth of the hallway, but I put my hand up and state, “It isn’t me you’ve got to apologize to. You know Ash wouldn’t have called unless it was important.”

I’m not willing to sugarcoat it or placate him. He knows he fucked up big time, and I need to get to my fucking wife and ask why the fuck she changed her number or more importantly, to ensure she’s still in the state.

My gut is churning, something isn’t right.

“I know, I didn’t think, I just, I felt guilty,” he admits, and I look at him and reply, “We all do, but maybe that’s because she’s just as much family as he is and because her cheating is a far-fetched story.

Especially considering she gave up everything for him and that he has no proof and used the first thing he could to fuck someone else instead of confronting her.

He thinks he missed out after meeting her when they were kids, but it’s going to bite him in the ass.

She won’t stay with him when she finds out he’s been fucking Virginia for a whole year, choosing to go to her instead of going home after a run to see his own kid. ”

Doc winces but nods, knowing I’m right, and I squeeze my phone in my fist and admit, “Rose’s phone has been disconnected, and I haven’t heard from her since I left for the run.”

Doc frowns, “Come to think of it, I haven’t seen her at work…”

Fuck.

We lock eyes before we both move in sync, and the need to get to my girl pulls, the gut feeling in my stomach tightening.

Twenty minutes later, Doc and I pull up outside Rose’s apartment building, and I settle a little seeing her car as I climb off my bike. Without a word between us, we walk to the door but as I get my keys out, keys Rose gave me after three months together Doc raises a brow.

“She gave you a key, or you stole a key?” Doc asks with amusement as I unlock the door, and I roll my eyes and admit, “She gave me a key, brother,” and he hums in approval as we enter the building.

We climb three flights of stairs before I let myself inside her apartment and call “Red?” but I halt when Kimberly answers with anger, “She’s not here,” and I look up to see the nearly sixteen-year-old standing just near the couch, glaring at me with her arms crossed.

“What do you mean she’s not here?” Doc asks, picking up the tension, “She hasn’t been at work, and her car is outside.”

She ignores him and nods to Rose’s bedroom and states, “My sister left you something on her bed.”

Our eyes stay locked for a few moments, hers full of hate and disappointment, and I know she knows about Elsie. I know she knows I’m a brother, the fact that she wasn’t shocked when I walked into the apartment wearing my cut proof of that.

I know my wife has left me.

My stomach knots up, and without a word, I turn down the hallway and go to my wife’s room.

Nothing is out of place, all her little things, like jewelry and perfume, are on her vanity, along with pictures of her, me, and her family.

But what is different is that all of my belongings are sitting on her bed, with a piece of paper lying on top.

My heart pounds as I walk towards the bed and very fucking slowly, hoping Rose will jump out of her en-suite and shout boo, I pick the paper up carefully and read:

I fell madly in love with you after you ingrained yourself in my life. Making me think I was your forever, that you loved me too, but it was all a lie.

Your life, your job, your family, everything was a lie. I know about your wife, I know about your club, and now, I’m broken because of you and your lies. You made me the other woman.

If you have any decency left inside you, don’t contact me again and don’t contact my sister because you and I, we’re done.

We were done before we even started because you are a lying cheating piece of shit and I never want to see you again.

Good bye, Cage.

My nostrils flare realizing just how much I have fucked up not telling her everything from the get-go as Kimberly whispers, “She loved you so much she turned down an opportunity of a lifetime, she gave up the chance to work with the best and begin her path to be a Cardiology nurse, to work with kids like me only for her to find out you have a wife, that you made her the other woman.”

My breathing picks up, and I admit, “I love your sister, Kimmy, I love her with every fucking thing in me.”

“So what, you thought you could have your cake and eat it too?” she scoffs, and I turn to her, seeing Doc standing right behind her.

“I divorced Elsie, Kimmy, a week after knowing your sister. I divorced her, and there are things you don’t know, things your sister doesn’t know about my past,” I say, “Please, where is she?”

Kimmy looks at me intently, and I’m not sure what she sees, but her bottom lip wobbles as she tears my heart out and admits, “She’s left, packed her stuff, and got a job elsewhere, far from here.”

No.
