O verview

Off-season High-Risk chase

Date: October 18th

Drove from Norman, Oklahoma to base at Ennis, Texas for planned two-day chase—ended up only chasing day one.

Target: Lubbock to the Oklahoma-Texas border

Intercepts: 4 tornadoes—one dusty wedge briefly concurrent with the second tornado, which for a few minutes was orbited by an impressive satellite. Chased the fourth tornado with limited visibility after dark. After getting too close, took an escape route south into mud.

Crew: Annie.

Notes: replenish emergency food/water and purchase a second sleeping bag for Annie. Will write up detailed chase account later. Too frazzled and exhausted. Worried a bit about the team/next season.
