Chapter 31

Addison

Istared down at my plate of food and smiled. Akira and I had met up for brunch while Seojun and Raheem went to got the jet ready for us to head back to Philly. Even though my best friend was talking, my mind was on my new husband. My body was sore, but everything felt so good last night that I didn’t even care about the pain. This feeling I had for Seojun felt surreal and if I were being honest, it scared me. How could I fall for someone that I just met? What if I didn’t want this marriage to just be temporary?

“Okay bitch, you’re gonna stop cheesing over them damn eggs and tell me what the hell happened last night.”

Akira said, taking a sip of her mimosa.

I shook my head and bit the inside of my jaw to stop myself from grinning again.

“Oh, nothing.”

“Girl don't play. Don't nobody be walking around smiling like that unless they got some.”

I smirked, playfully tilting my head to the side. Akira squinted her eyes for a brief moment before realization hit her. We burst into laughter as I waggled my eyebrows.

“What did you expect? It was my wedding night after all.”

I cooed, taking a sip of my drink.

“Well, give me the tea! How did it go? Did it hurt or did you enjoy it? Your freaky ass probably enjoyed all that pain, too.”

Akira rambled.

“It was everything you could imagine. He ate me out until I came so hard that I was seeing stars. Then when he put that huge dick of his inside of me, I swear he was ripping me apart. It hurt so bad yet so good. It was amazing. We fell asleep in each other’s arms and he woke me up with his mouth sucking on my toes.”

Akira fanned herself.

“Oh, he a freak freak. Get it then, bestie!”

As we continued to laugh and joke, I saw my phone vibrating with a facetime call from Cindy.

“Hey!”

Cindy sang out with Sandy behind her waving frantically.

“Hold up, is that Akira with you?”

I shifted my phone, allowing K to wave at the pair.

“Hey, ladies!”

“Where are yall?”

Cindy asked, scrunching up her eyebrows.

“Oh, we uh, we’re in Vegas.”

“Vegas?”

Cindy and Sandy shouted together.

“What the heck are you doing back there? I thought you were in Philly to visit your grandma.”

“It was a spare of the moment type of thing,”

Akira chimed in.

The pair stared at us and waited for an explanation. A part of me didn’t want to tell them anything, but I couldn’t figure out why. Cindy, Sandy, Akira, and I have been really good friends for months and we always told each other everything. Well, with the exception of my prior arranged marriage with Mr. L.

I sighed.

“Long story short, I got married.”

The pair stared at me in disbelief before they burst out into laughter.

“Good one, Addy, but seriously, what’s going on?”

Rolling my eyes, I took out the marriage certificate with me and Seojun’s name on it. Cindy and Sandy’s eyes grew wide. I heard the sound of someone taking a picture before the line disconnected. What the hell was that? Before I could ask, someone had grabbed my arm and yanked me out of my seat.

“Seojun?”

“How the fuck do you know Cindy and Sandy?”

My eyebrows furrowed as I turned to look at Akira. Raheem had a grip on her arm too.

“Addison, don’t make me ask you again.”

Seojun said through gritted teeth.

“T-they are my friends I met in school. Seojun, you are hurting my arm!”

His nostrils flared as his voice lowered into a growl.

“I am going to do far worse than hurt your fucking arm. You betrayed me!”

“What?’

Ignoring me, Seojun dropped my arm.

“I should’ve known your ass was too good to be true. Here I was thinking I found someone I could see myself with for the long haul and the whole time she’s been backstabbing me.”

“Seojun, what the fuck are you talking about?”

I shouted, throwing my hands on my hips.

“It doesn’t matter,”

he continued, ignoring me.

“This shit was only temporary. Hell, the only reason I chose you was because you have Reaper blood. If your grandfather hadn’t been the former leader and my dad haden’t made a deal with him, then your ass wouldn’t even be here.”

“W-what?”

That’s what my grandmother was trying to tell me when she was telling me about grandpa Ernest. Throughout my life, I heard bits and pieces of the Reapers, but I would have never thought my family would be involved. Even with this new knowledge, it made my heart plummet that Seojun only wanted me because of a deal. Balling my hands into fists, I lifted my chin.

“And I only married you to pay off my grandmother’s debt. I guess we’re both even.”

Seojun’s nostrils flared as he glared down at me.“Raheem, get my wife and her friend on the plane. I’ll be there in a moment.”

He ordered with disdain.

I opened my mouth to say something, but Seojun turned on his heels and left me standing there. I didn’t understand what was happening and the fact that Seojun wasn’t talking was pissing me off. The moment he saw me talking to Cindy and Sandy, he flipped out, but why? How did he know them and why was speaking to them a problem? I had so many more questions, but I obviously wasn’t getting any answers at the moment. Maybe when we all got on the plane, Seojun and I could talk in private so we could get down to the bottom of this issue.

After gathering our bags, Raheem got us back to the plane. I had hoped to see Seojun at some point, but the entire ride back to Philly, he was nowhere to be found. Hell, even Raheem wasn’t speaking to Akira. I know I was upset, but Akira was more vocal about her anger.

“We’ll be landing in fifteen minutes,”

Raheem said, walking past us.

“Bet! So you have fifteen minutes to tell me what the fuck is going on before I lay my hands on you.”

Akira spat.

Raheem looked back at her which caused her to look him up and down before she stood and got into a fighting stance. Raheem sighed with a shake of his head before going back towards the front of the plane.

“Scary hoe.”

Akira shouted, plopping into her seat.

“This shit is stupid. How are they going to be mad, but not tell us why they mad?”

“Right! The whole situation is bullshit, but apparently, there is nothing we can do until Seojun explains what’s going on.”

Akira frowned as she reached over and grabbed my hands.

“Love I am sorry about all of this. You gave yourself to that man and now he’s acting like…this!”

I gave her a tight grin.

“It’s not your fault K. Seojun needs to be a man and come talk to me. That’s all to it. Maybe he used to date either Cindy or Sandy? I mean, why else would he flip out like that?”

Akira shook her head as she crossed her hands over her chest. If Seojun thought he could treat me like the scum on his shoe, then he was sadly mistaken.
