Chapter 36
Seojun
Istared down at my trunk and nodded my head with approval. After we figured out that Luther was the culprit behind the Jaguar’s fall, Jay loaded up our vehicles with everything to prepare for war. I didn’t personally know the man, but he came after what was mine and he was willing to ship off my wife for a profit. He had to pay for his crimes and tonight was the night we ended all of this bullshit.
“Everyone is locked and loaded,”
Jay said, standing to my left.
“Whatever happens, I’ll be by your side.”
Addison whispered in my right ear.
I looked down at her and planted my lips against hers before escorting her inside the car, motioning for Raheem to follow us. As Jay drove us through the streets of Philly, I couldn’t help but feel my anxiety swarm throughout my core. After these past two years, I was finally about to end all of this drama. I was at my lowest and felt abandon when no one was left from the Jaguars except for Ayzo, Jay, and my dad. Now, I was gaining everything back and then some.
After about forty-five minutes, we pulled up to Luther’s business that Addison had told us about. It was just after midnight, yet there were cars still parked in the parking lot. I shouldn’t have been surprised. This was usually the busiest time to have customers. Sex sold and the freaks came out when the street lights came on.
A black Lincoln pulled up next to us and I saw Nicholas and Ashlynn hopping out. I started shaking my head.
“Oh no you don’t. Ashlynn, this is dangerous and I don’t want you and the baby to get hurt.”
Nicholas clapped me on the back.
“I already tried that man. I thought I left her at the house, but her little sneaky ass hid in the backseat.”
“Those muthafuckas kidnapped us and tried to take over my daddy’s shop. I want my revenge, too. I’ve been taking those self-defense classes and been at the shooting range ever since then. I got this.”
I looked over at Nicholas who just shook his head.
“Ashlynn Shantell, the minute things get out of hand, I’m dragging your ass back to this car.”
She rolled her eyes.
“You heard the man,”
Denice said, yelling out of the window of her challenger.
“I be damned if my bestie and my niece get hurt because you want to be hard headed.”
Ashlynn exhaled a breath of frustration before she agreed to stay behind all of the chaos. Ayzo hopped out of the passenger seat of Denice’s car and gave me a quick hug.
“How you are holding up, cuzo?”
I briefly closed my eyes and took a breath. “Ready.”
Ayzo nodded.
“H-hey Addison.”
She looked over at him and smirked.
“What’s up Ayzo. We’re not going to make this awkward.”
I laughed and called Denice over.
“Let’s do quick introductions so nobody accidentally shoots the wrong person. This is Denice, Ashlynn, Nicholas, and my cousin Jay.”
Addison smiled and greeted everybody.
“Nice to meet you all. That’s Raheem and my best friend, Akira.”
She nodded towards the pair who were pulling up on a motorcycle.
“Let’s light these muthafucka’s up!”
Akira said, waggling her tongue and pointing her gun in the air.
“I like her already.”
Denice laughed.
A few seconds later, Bishop, my body guard pulled up on her bike next to Akira and Raheem and dipped her chin.
“I have a few people coming to surround the perimeter boss. Nobodies getting out of here without having to go through us.”
“Bishop, you didn’t have to –”
She gave me a pointed look.
“Seojun, you have been nothing but good to the Reapers. What happened to you was unfortunate, but contract or not, we are here to support you.”
I walked over and gave her a firm handshake. Jay opened his mouth to say something but quickly changed his mind. The way he stared at Bishop was very familiar. It was the same look I gave Addison. I made a mental note to talk to him about it when all this was over.
I heard more motorcycles in the distance as we strapped up. I tried one last time to convince Denice, Addison, Ashlynn, and Akira to stay behind, too, but they refused. Hell, they all damn near cursed me out because they refused to leave their man’s side. I pretended to be frustrated, but deep down I was proud. These women were ready to ride for us and I know we would do the same for them.
Looking around the parking lot, I couldn’t help but smile. I was betrayed in the past and lost everything. I was devastated because everything my father had worked hard for was destroyed within a blink of an eye while I was in charge. Now as I stood before the people before me, I realized that they were all there for me. Not my dad or for what the Jaguars did for them, but all because of me. I looked down and sniffed as Addison rubbed my arm. Looking over at my wife, a planted a kiss on her cheek before turning to face everyone.
“Let’s end this shit!”
