Epilogue
Addison 5 Years Later
“If you don’t hurry up, we’re going to be late!”
I shouted up the stairs.
Today was Renee’s dance recital and we couldn’t be late or Ashlynn would be calling our phones back to back.
When that woman gave you a time, you had better be there at that time, but that was something I loved about her.
Ashlynn and Nicholas had a beautiful baby girl and now she was six years old with her first lead role in her dance performance.
The years flew by, but a lot had taken place.
After Ayzo’s mom, Kim, and my mom were sentence and killed for their crimes, things started off hectic.
After we rebuilt our territories, Seojun and I now ran the Jaguars and the Reapers from the Northwest down to the South.
We compromised and kept two massage parlors and two escort houses open, because some of the women who worked with Seojun in the past really wanted to stay in that area.
It was uncomfortable at first and I could admit my trust with Seojun was becoming shaky, but I quickly learned that it was only business.
The women respected me and never did any foul shit.
So, I agreed, and we kept them on payroll.
Besides, Raheem and Akira checked in on them and made sure everything was running smoothly.
All the other women who wanted to come out of hiding, worked at S&V Realty or at one of the many vacation resorts we had across the country.
Seojun and I mainly focused on his realty company and my therapy center.
He built new homes, vacation resorts, and businesses for all of the communities with a lower annual income.
He still made it his mission to help those who really needed it.
I aimed to help the community especially for those who had mothers like mine and Ayzo.
After Seojun and I went down to the annual Jaguars and Reapers meeting where the contract for Seojun to marry in order to keep the Jaguars was deemed valid, things finally began to calm down.
We found a comfortable routine.
Then, Seojun really stepped up and showed me his true feelings for me when my grandmother passed away last year.
It hit me hard, but he was nothing but loving and compassionate while he helped me get through her passing.
I’m not saying everything is peachy perfect, but I know that I have someone to lean on when grief pops up.
The same goes for my husband.
It took a couple of years for him to speak to his father again.
I was there through his sleepless nights and spouts of despair, and I never allowed him to push me away.
It was a truly a rough time, but in the end, it only made our relationship stronger.
“What is that man doing?”
Denice asked, rubbing her belly.
“Probably changing for the tenth time. You know he has to look perfect for every occasion.”
I chuckled with a slight shake of my head.
“How’s the twins?”
“Kicking my ass. I should’ve known better when we got married during my ovulation week and had Junior. Now look at me, celebrating our anniversary and got knocked up again.”
I threw my hand over my mouth and laughed.
“That’s what happens when you and your husband change y’all sex life into a friendly sexual competition.”
Denice laughed.
“You right, but I can’t help it. I like hearing him call out my name!”
“Keep playing and I’ll add a third baby with the twins.”
Ayzo said, coming around the corner.
“Boy, hush!”
Denice giggled.
“When should we tell everybody?”
Seojun whispered, wrapping his arms around my waist.
I looked up at him before planting a kiss on his lips.
“Later, today is Renee’s day.”
“Yes, yeobo.”
Seojun cleared his throat.
“Okay, let’s head out before Ashlynn starts calling.”
After everything we had been through, Seojun and I remained happily married. It wasn’t easy because we had to learn about one another, but the fact that we wanted us to work made it easier. Now, we had our precious blessing brewing in my stomach to expand our family. If we had to do all this over again, I wouldn’t change a thing. Life was good and I couldn’t wait to see what the future held for us.
