Chapter 6 #4
“I remember when I committed to dropping you off to Uzi’s class.
You told me not to commit to it if I didn’t think that I could do it.
You know that most mornings when I drop you off, I’ll leave to grab something to eat, and I’ll stay in the area, so that I’ll be there to pick you up once the class is over.
While I was out, Kendrick hit me. He said that it was an unfamiliar car that was parked at one of the traps.
You know we have a trap down south, which is kind of close to Uzi’s warehouse, so I swung over there, wanting to check it out for myself.
I knew that I wasn’t going to get back at a decent time.
I also knew that shit was going to piss you off, and that’s why I texted Uzi, asking her if you could ride with her today, and asking her to bring you back over here for me.
I had another meeting right after that for the security company that I didn’t want to be late for.
I knew you would be pissed, and that’s one of the reasons why I came bearing gifts,” he said it all in one breath, and when he finished, he leaned his head in and kissed me on my neck.
“Hmmm,” was all that I said to him, and I heard him chuckle behind me.
“Aww. You about to start up your bullshit. I gotta be in that kind of mood to deal with that, so let me take a shower right quick,” he voiced, letting go of me. When he said that, I swear my entire body flew around, so that I could face him.
“Since when the fuck do you come home, and the first thing you rush to do is take a shower? You never do that. Most times, you’ll grab something to eat out of the kitchen, or you’ll go out on the balcony to smoke.
Then, you’ll take a shower. Where the fuck were you Dolo?
” the crazy side was coming out, and I hated that for me because I had been trying to remain calm, but it just wasn’t happening today.
You could tell that he was caught off guard by my question because he cocked his head to the side, while not only looking at me like I was crazy, but you could see it in his eyes that he was offended as well.
“I lie to you?” he asked me.
“I don’t know. That’s what I’m trying to figure out,” I said, and he sucked his teeth.
“That’s not what the fuck I asked you! I asked you if I lie to you!” he snapped at me.
“No, but—”
“Nah man. Ain’t no buts. Stop it right there.
If I don’t have a history of lying to you, don’t handle me like I’m just some nigga that goes around lying to you.
Shit came up, Riot. I didn’t know if I had the feds watching my shit, or somebody from dem 9 boyz, and I wanted to go round there to see what the fuck was going on.
Shit took longer getting there, and I knew that I wasn’t going to make it getting you back on time.
Me, and you have deep conversations. When we took that ride to Pensacola the other day, you told me that one day you would want more than just hustling.
Now that I’m trying to do my thing with the security company, you told me that you wanted to find something to do too.
I figured it would be cool if I had you shadow Uzi around, so you could see the way she moves, and handles business throughout the day.
Damn. Here I am, thinking that I’m doing something good, and you accusing me of lying? Who you feeling like?” he asked me.
“I smell perfume on you. What bitch were you around?” I asked him, literally disregarding everything that he’d just said to me, and still worried about the fuckin perfume.
When I asked that, he laughed. He laughed and pulled down on the chin hair that he had. I knew that he only did that to keep from spazzing.
He reached in his pocket, and he pulled out those sample papers that they give you at the mall when they wanted you to sample the perfumes. He had about four in there, and he tossed them down on the bed.
“I know my mama like perfume, so I was trying to get some new shit for her. It’s the samples on me that you’re smelling.
I even got you a couple of bottles too. What else you need from me, baby?
You want to smell big man, too? You need to feel my balls, and check to see if they full?
Say the word, and I’ll pull these motha fuckas down right now,” he went on, already lifting his shirt, so that I could see his briefs, since he was sagging in his jeans.
His gun was on his waist, so he removed it, tossed it down on the bed, looking at me, as if he was dying to see what I was getting ready to say.
“I want to smell it,” I let him know. He laughed again, and right here in the bedroom with me, not having any shame, he pulled his pants, and his briefs down, and I was met with a semi- erect, beautiful dick. His balls were full.
“I ain’t stopping you from smelling it, but I’m letting you know right here that Ima fall out with you if you do it.
I’m looking you in your eyes Riot and letting you know that you got the free will to smell it, but if you do, then that means that your ass don’t trust me, and you think that I was out fuckin around.
Do what you will with this information,” he challenged me.
Voices in my head were screaming at me, telling me to smell it.
The voices were reminding me that this nigga disappeared on me, came back smelling like perfume, and rushed to get in the shower, which is something that he’s never done before.
Then, there were other voices, that were telling me that I was tripping, and that Dolo would never cheat on me.
He’s invested so much time into this relationship, so he would have been a fool to cheat on me.
Plus, I could hear the words of my cousins, saying that all men cheated in some form.
Curiosity got the best of me, so I bent down, going for his dick, lifting it with just one hand, and sniffing it, thinking that I was going to either smell the latex from a rubber, or just sex in general.
I didn’t pull away for about ten seconds, and I didn’t smell shit.
I felt stupid when I stood up, and Dolo looked at me like he wanted to slap the shit out of me. The smile was no longer on his face.
“And you just picked your side, baby. You just proved to me that my word don’t mean shit to you. Welcome to the motha fuckin doghouse. I hope you enjoy your stay there,” he said, pulling his pants up, and he walked away from me.
I thought that he was going to laugh, tell me that he was just playing, but he walked away. He went into the bathroom, and he slammed the door so hard that the walls shook. I jumped at that because I didn’t expect him to slam it that hard.
I stood here, not really knowing what to do in this moment.
I went ahead, and I finished folding the clothes, and the dresser that Dolo gave me to me, telling me that I could keep it, I placed my items in there.
I then went over for the bathroom, turning the knob, but he locked it.
Dolo never locked the bathroom door. I knocked, trying to get his attention, but he ignored me.
I picked my hand up, running it down my face, not knowing what I should do.
I chose to leave the room, and I went out into the living room area.
Instead of sitting out here, I pulled the sliding door back, and I sat out on the balcony.
I sat out here for about thirty minutes, just staring down at my hands that were in my lap, knowing that I’d fucked up, but not knowing what I should do to fix it.
Out of the corner of my eye, I could see that Dolo had walked into the living room, and he was about to head out of the front door. He was fully dressed, with his keys in his hands. Seeing that, I quickly stood, slid the patio door back, and I walked into the living room, wanting to talk to him.
“Wait. Dolo, wait. Where are you about to go?” I asked him.
“Out. To go handle business,” he said.
“Okay, but Dominique, I’m sorry. You left me at the warehouse—”
“Stop saying that I fuckin left you. I didn’t leave you.
Leaving you would have been leaving your ass out there stranded with nobody to bring you back home.
Uzi was a solid pick. I knew that you would be in good hands with her, and that’s why I did it.
I told you the reason I felt like it was a good idea, and that shit backfired on me in the end because a nigga got accused of cheating.
Here I am, thinking that you’re in good hands, and that I could tend to the other business that I had, but the whole time, you were secretly beefing with me.
With the shit that I got coming up for the rest of the week, I saw that I had a couple of hours to spare, so that’s why I went to the mall, so that I could get some birthday shit for my mama, and during that, I’m at the mall, shopping for you, spoiling your ass too.
I knew it was a chance that you were going to be mad at me, but damn, I didn’t think that you were going to accuse a nigga of cheating.
I told you if you sniffed my dick what was going to happen.
I’m out. I got shit to take care of,” he said, heading for the door, but I quickly rushed over to the door, standing in front of it, blocking it, so that he wouldn’t walk out.
“But what am I supposed to do then? Just wait for you to get back?” I asked him. He didn’t answer that question. He just stared at me in a way as if he was ready for me to move away from the door, so that he could leave.
“If you don’t want me to stay, I’ll leave then. I’m going to go back to Ari’s house,” I told him.
“If that’s what you feel like you gotta do baby, then do it. Leave the key on the counter if you going to leave. Watch out,” he said, putting his hand on my shoulder, so that he could move me out of the way.
He was able to get the door open. He walked out and slammed it behind himself.
I didn’t crack until he left. I slumped down on the floor, putting my back against the wall, and pulling my knees up.
I wrapped my arms around my legs, put my head down, and I broke.
I didn’t want to go out like a crash out dummy how I did the last time, which is why I waited for him to leave, so that I could have my moment.
I was angry at myself for getting in my head the way that I did and accusing him of something that he didn’t do. I felt like Dolo didn’t want me here though. He couldn’t have. If he did, he would have said that he wanted me to stay.
I was going to continue to have my moment, but in a few, I was going to get up, pack my bags, and leave.
