Chapter 11 #2

Street restored her clothing and settled Rosa on the table.

She was amazed that he acted like helping her was ordinary—something normal for him to do.

He wrapped an arm around her as Razor filled a basin with water and added something from a bottle that tinted the liquid a dark orange color.

The doctor placed the container on a small rolling tray and scooted it close to her injury.

“Set your hand in here. The mixture may sting your skin momentarily, but the discomfort will vanish quickly,” Razor said.

Street tightened his arm around her waist as she weaved a bit. “I’ve got you, Dinorosa.”

Cautiously, Rosa immersed her palm. Her resulting gasp faded away almost quicker than the prickle of the disinfectant. “Better.”

“We’ll let your skin soak for a few minutes as the shot takes effect,” Razor said. He busied himself, gathering bandaging material, ointment, and scissors. By the time he returned to her side to pull on gloves, Rosa leaned heavily against Street.

“Tell me if you need a break,” Razor said, dipping his hands into the liquid. He ran his fingers smoothly over the cut areas in her palm and fingers.

Rosa bit her bottom lip and squeezed Street’s hand tight. White flecks floated to the surface as Razor cleaned the wounds. “Those were inside them?”

“Yes. And would have caused infection or slowed down the healing process,” Razor answered as he continued to abrade the scrapes.

Finally, no more emerged. He waved a hand over the surface to create a clear path for her to remove her hand.

“Out you come. Good job, Rosa. You were brave. I’d say you earned a lollipop. ”

As he smeared ointment on her skin, Rosa remembered Vex’s recommendation for the good suckers. “Can I have a treat from your office stash?”

“Vex’s been talking to you, hmm?” Razor asked, pausing only momentarily from wrapping gauze around her hand to meet her gaze with a smile.

“He might have mentioned it,” Rosa said.

“I will be glad to let you choose candy from my office.” Razor leaned closer to confide. “I lock those away because the bikers would wipe me out in a day.”

“What? You have a secret hoard of premium goodies?” Street asked.

Rosa met Razor’s dancing gaze and promised, “I won’t tell anyone else.”

“I like you, Rosa,” Razor told her as Street blustered about the unfairness of being deprived.

“Is this really free?” she asked.

“It is. Including the antibiotics I’ll send home with you,” Razor assured her. “Do you need other medical care?”

Before she could stop herself, Rosa blurted, “Birth control.” Street rubbed her back rewarding her bravery. She leaned back against his touch.

“I’ll have to examine you to make sure you’re healthy,” Razor told her as he taped the gauze into place.

“I guessed you’d be a stickler.”

“I prefer being called a thorough and concerned doctor,” Razor said.

Rosa’s gaze dropped to the bowl of water with the floating flecks. She nodded. “Okay.”

“I’ll set up the appointment with your Daddy.”

“Can he be here with me?”

“Of course,” Razor said.

She rested her head on Street’s broad shoulder. Her hand ached a bit but actually the ache had gotten less intense. Who knew those bits of plastic would rub so much? “I need a nap, Daddy.”

“Good idea, Little girl,” Street agreed.

Razor handed him a container of large, bullet-shaped pills. “Place one deep in her bottom in the morning and before bed. A diaper or panty liner will keep things tidy.”

“What?” she roused, staring at the medicine in horror. “In my butt? A diaper?”

Street ignored her outburst. “Got it, Razor. Thanks for seeing her.”

“No more pipe work for a week. Then, only with gloves, at all times!” Razor said, underlining the last three words with emphasis in his voice.

“But Fury needs me,” Rosa protested.

“You can measure if you want. No cutting,” Razor said, standing firm.

“Okay,” she agreed and yawned.

“If you’d like, take Rosa into the room beside my office. I have a bed set up for Honey to nap when she’s here with me. I just put on fresh sheets. Rosa can sleep off the medicine while you work, and you can pick her up after your shift,” Razor suggested.

“No covers for Rosa,” Street warned.

“Got it. Settle her there and give her a dose of medicine. Are you comfortable inserting suppositories?”

Rosa looked back and forth between the two men. “I don’t…”

“You will take your medicine like a good girl or get spanked and then take your medicine. Which would you prefer?” Street told her firmly.

His dominant tone thrilled and pissed her off.

Part of her wanted to be Little like in the tattered books one restaurant patron forgotten in a canvas bag Rosa had found under a table a few years ago.

The survivor part that had helped her stay alive bristled with indignation at being told what she would or wouldn’t do.

Rosa stared at him as she struggled to figure out how to react.

“I’ll let you two work this out,” Razor said before quietly seeing himself out of the room.

“Does your hand feel better?” Street asked softly.

“Yes.”

“Do you think Razor knows what he’s doing?”

“But in my bottom,” she whined.

“Your tummy won’t get upset, and the medicine will absorb efficiently.” Street gentled his tone as he continued, “Daddy will help you tolerate the placement, Dinorosa.”

“You won’t laugh at me?”

“I will never make fun of you,” he promised, drawing an X across his chest with one hand before lifting his index finger to poke toward his eye.

Rosa understood the gesture easily. Cross my heart and hope to die. Stick a needle in my eye.

“Okay,” she whispered.

“Good girl.”
