Chapter Five
Three long, piercing tones sounded, then a mechanical voice echoed through every speaker in the station:
“All personnel. Critical systems alert. Structural stress detected on eastern modules. Power redistribution in progress. Report status. Repeat: critical systems alert.”
Nora’s heart thudded in her chest. She sat up so fast her thin blanket slid off.
The women’s quarters were pitch dark except for red emergency strips running along the floor.
The other two bunks were empty—her housemates must’ve already headed to their duty stations.
The wind outside sounded heavier, like the storm had found a new way to hammer the station.
She shoved her arms into her station-issue robe, not bothering to tie it fully over her sleep shirt and shorts, and ran.
The corridor was colder than yesterday. Emergency lighting painted everything in flashes of red.
Somewhere deeper in the station, metal groaned.
She heard distant shouts, the thud of boots, and another alarm starting up over the first. Her bare feet slapped the floor as she bolted for the medical wing.
Knox’s quarters were attached to the medical bay.
If things were falling apart, he’d be the one in charge.
She didn’t knock. She shoved the door open.
Knox stood in the middle of the small room, already half-dressed—dark pajama bottoms slung low on his hips, chest bare.
Red emergency light cut across the hard lines of his body.
His hair was still messy from sleep. A handheld radio crackled in his hand.
The moment she walked in, he looked up—pale eyes sharp and fully awake.
Nora’s panic crashed into something hotter and more urgent. Seeing him shirtless, steady in the middle of all the chaos, sent a rush of heat straight between her legs, even as her pulse pounded with fear.
“Knox—”
“I know.” His voice was steady, already in control.
He spoke into the radio without looking away from her.
“Medical to command. Copy. I’m heading to the eastern junction after I secure the bay.
Out.” He set the radio down. “The avalanche shoved ice against the outer modules. They’re shifting the load so we don’t lose heat or power. It’s under control, just noisy.”
Another alarm tone rolled through the walls. The floor vibrated under her bare feet. Nora’s hands shook. She stepped inside and closed the door behind her, like the thin barrier could keep the station’s problems out.
“I woke up, everything was red and loud, and I didn’t know what was happening—” Her voice cracked. “I just ran.”
Knox’s eyes ran over her—the open robe, thin sleep shirt, bare legs, and the adrenaline (and something else) in her stare. He crossed the room in two quick strides and put both hands on her shoulders. The size and heat of his grip steadied her instantly.
“Breathe,” he said. “The station’s not collapsing. We’re just in lockdown with some stressed infrastructure. That’s all.”
She nodded, but her eyes drifted to his bare chest, the line of dark hair disappearing under his waistband, the steady rise and fall of his breathing. The fear still buzzed in her. So did that sharp, unwanted heat that started the moment she saw him.
Another distant metallic groan sounded. The lights flickered from red to dim white, then back again. Knox’s jaw tightened. He reached past her and locked his door with a firm click.
“Command’s got it,” he said quietly. “They don’t need me for the next twenty minutes. Medical’s stable.”
Nora looked up at him. The robe slipped farther off one shoulder. Her nipples were tight from cold and adrenaline. She could still feel his fingers and mouth from the day before, the stretch, the way he’d said he would take her completely.
“I don’t want to go back out there yet,” she said.
Something dark flickered in his eyes. He backed her against the door—no force—one hand braced beside her head, the other settling at her waist under the robe. The heat of his bare chest soaked through her thin sleep shirt.
“Then stay.”
The next alarm was shorter and less urgent—just an update, not a new emergency. Outside, the station buzzed with chaos. Inside the room, it was only the two of them, accompanied by the soft whistle of the wind.
Knox kissed her hard. This time, there was no slow build.
He kissed her as if the isolation, the alarms, and the days of careful stretching had all been leading to this very moment.
Nora opened for him at once, hands sliding up the bare skin of his chest, feeling the muscle shift under her palms. He let out a low sound into her mouth and eased the robe the rest of the way off her shoulders, letting it fall to the floor.
He broke the kiss just long enough to pull her sleep shirt up and off.
Cool air brushed her bare skin; then his hands replaced it, warm and possessive, thumbs grazing her nipples as he kissed her again.
Nora arched into his touch. The fear still hummed beneath her skin, but now it had nowhere to go except into the heat rising between them.
“Tell me you want this,” he murmured against her lips, his voice rough. “Right now, with the station falling apart outside.”
“I want it.” Her answer came instantly. “I want you to fuck me.”
Knox’s control slipped. He hooked his fingers into the waistband of her sleep shorts and pushed them down. She stepped out, and he shoved his pajama bottoms down just enough to free his cock. He was thick and already fully hard, making her breath catch—bigger than his fingers had prepared her for.
He lifted her and carried her the few steps to the narrow bunk, laying her on her back. The thin mattress dipped beneath their weight. Red emergency lights still flickered across the walls. Somewhere in the station, metal groaned, but it all felt distant now.
Knox settled between her thighs, gently pushing them wider with his hands. He looked down at her—bare, already wet, her chest rising and falling too fast—and then began to work her open with careful, deliberate movements.
Two fingers slid into her easily. She was wet with fear and longing. He added a third, stretching her slowly, gently scissoring his fingers while his thumb circled her clit. Nora tipped her head back on the pillow. A loud, unrestrained moan escaped her.
“Oh—god—”
He kept going, curling his fingers and opening her with steady pressure, watching every reaction. Each time he pressed deeper, she moaned again—louder, more helpless—her sounds filling the small room over the muted alarms outside.
“That’s it,” he said, voice low. “Let me hear you. I need you ready.”
Nora’s hands fisted the sheets. She was loud now—broken moans, short cries, his name breaking every time he rubbed that sensitive spot inside. The stretch burned in the best way, but it wasn’t enough. She needed more.
“Knox—please—”
He withdrew his fingers, slick with her, and braced himself over her. The thick head of his cock nudged at her entrance. He paused, breathing hard, giving her one last chance to stop him.
She did not.
He pushed in.
The first inch alone drew a high, open moan from her throat. He was thick—thicker than his fingers—and her body resisted even as it tried to pull him deeper. Knox went agonizingly slow, feeding himself into her one controlled inch at a time, eyes locked on her face.
“Breathe,” he ordered. “Take it.”
Nora moaned louder as another inch slid into her. The stretch was almost too much. Her thighs trembled around his hips. She felt every ridge and vein as he pushed deeper.
“Fuck—it’s so—ah—”
He paused halfway in, letting her adjust, then pressed forward again—another thick inch. Nora’s moan turned into a shaky, drawn-out cry. Her nails dug into his bare shoulders. Being opened so completely for the first time was overwhelming—fullness, burn, and a deep, primal rightness all at once.
“Almost there,” he murmured. His voice had gone rough. “One more.”
He pushed the rest of the way in and bottomed out with a low groan. Nora’s back arched hard. A loud, broken moan tore from her as she felt him fully inside—deep, stretching her around every inch. She shook beneath him. The alarms still sounded somewhere outside, but they no longer mattered.
Knox held himself still inside her, his forehead pressed to hers, letting her feel every inch of him.
“You’re taking all of me,” he said. “Every inch. Listen to how you sound.”
Nora could only moan in response, the sound raw, open, and completely unrestrained.
Knox stayed buried to the hilt for several long breaths, giving her time to adjust to the thick stretch.
The emergency lights flickered red across the ceiling.
Somewhere in the corridor, another status update crackled over the intercom, followed by the distant thud of boots. None of it touched them now.
He began to move.
His first slow withdrawal dragged every inch of him against her sensitive walls.
Nora’s moan rose higher, almost shocked.
When he pushed back in—still controlled, still deep—the sound broke into a loud, helpless cry.
Her hands clung to his bare shoulders. The size of him forced her open on every stroke; there was no part of her that didn’t feel it.
“That’s it,” he murmured. “Let the whole station hear you if you need to.”
He set a steady rhythm, long thrusts bottoming out each time with a wet, heavy sound.
Nora’s voice kept rising—open moans, short, broken cries, his name torn in half when he angled deeper and rubbed her most sensitive spot.
The stretch never quite eased. It stayed intense, almost too much, and that intensity only made her louder.
“Knox—fuck—it’s so deep—”
“I know.” His voice was rough now, strained with the effort of holding back. “You’re gripping me like you were made for this.”
He hooked one of her legs higher over his arm, opening her further, and drove in harder.
The new angle forced a sharp, involuntary cry of pleasure from her throat.
Her back arched off the bunk. The thin mattress creaked beneath them.
Outside, the station kept up its controlled chaos; inside, the only sounds that mattered were the slap of skin and Nora’s voice, wild and free.
Her orgasm built from the relentless depth and the knowledge that she was finally filled.
She tried to warn him, but all that escaped was a rising series of desperate moans that peaked in a raw cry when the climax hit.
Her body clamped down around him, pulsing in tight waves.
Knox groaned and fucked her through it, never slowing, dragging the orgasm out until she was shaking and oversensitive beneath him.
He did not give her time to recover.
He kept thrusting, deeper now, the wet sounds louder, his control slipping more with every squeeze of her body.
Nora’s second climax rose almost instantly, sharper and more overwhelming than the first. She came again with a broken shout, thighs locked around his waist, nails raking his back.
Her pulsing contractions pulled him over the edge.
“Nora—”
He drove in to the hilt one last time and came hard, cock pulsing as he emptied into her in long, hot spurts.
The sensation of being filled so completely—stretched around him while he spilled inside—drew a last, shaky moan from her.
He stayed buried deep, forehead pressed to hers, both of them breathing in ragged unison through the aftershocks.
For a long moment, neither of them moved. The primary alarm finally faded, replaced by a calmer automated update that neither really heard. The wind still battered the sealed outer walls. The station had survived another crisis. So had they.
Knox eventually eased out of her, gentle and careful. The sudden emptiness made Nora whimper. She felt his release slowly seeping between her thighs, warm and unmistakable. He looked down at the evidence, eyes dark with possession, then lay beside her and pulled her in against his bare chest.
His hand traced down her spine, steady and possessive.
“The infrastructure’s stable for now,” he said quietly. “The stress event is contained. We’ll still be locked down for days. Maybe longer.”
Nora nodded against his skin, still trembling a little, body sore and thoroughly used. She’d given him her virginity in the middle of an emergency, locked inside an Arctic station, and he had taken it completely—deep, deliberate, and without pulling out.
She closed her eyes and listened to the steady beat of his heart under her ear. The chaos outside had faded. The isolation remained. But now, she didn’t mind it at all.
