Chapter 5 #5
I didn’t let him finish because I took a piece of toast and threw it at his head. Henry began to laugh heartily, took the table and removed it from the bed, then lunged at me.
“Do you want me to make you touch the sky too?” he said, brushing my lips with his.
“I doubt it because you’re closer to being a demon than an angel, champ.”
“Then I’ll take you to hell because I’m going to make you burn with pleasure,” he affirmed, and pressed his lips to mine to kiss me hungrily.
Immediately we were overcome by a heat that grew more and more intense.
Henry savored my mouth as if it were his favorite delicacy.
My body surrendered to him as his mouth didn’t leave a single inch untasted.
We made love again with our usual intensity, shouting each other’s names when the climax shook us like a gale.
He left around ten in the morning, and I arrived a bit later at the office, but that day my brothers were in a meeting and didn’t notice my tardiness, so in the morning I was able to avoid questions, something I couldn’t avoid in the afternoon when I received a bouquet of roses.
Around three in the afternoon, Cameron, my assistant, entered my office with a large bouquet of red roses.
“Boss, they just delivered this for you. It comes with a card,” he said, placing them on the conference table, then turned and looked at me as if waiting for an explanation.
Cameron had been my assistant for three years.
Thanks to him, my schedule was organized, and he accompanied me to all meetings or conferences, helping me with everything related to work organization.
There was a lot of trust between us, and we cared for each other deeply.
He was a 25-year-old guy, tall, blond, with brown eyes.
He was extroverted with a natural charm.
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Like what?” he asked, with an innocent face.
“Like I’m a suspect in something. And don’t even think I’m going to tell you who sent them.”
“Boss, you forget that I’m the one who organizes your schedule, so if there are appointments, like lunches, dinners, or whatever, you’ll have to tell me.”
“You know what, you’re a gossip. Get out of my office before I seriously consider firing you.”
“You couldn’t live without me,” he said, leaving my office laughing.
I approached the bouquet and took the envelope containing the card. When I pulled it out and read what it said, my heart raced.
You make me happy too
HW
I didn’t want to admit it, but I suspected that Henry was getting under my skin and taking possession of my heart. Thinking about this, I stared at the bouquet, hypnotized. That gesture had been very sweet. I picked up the phone and sent him a message:
“Thank you! They’re beautiful! ”
His response came immediately:
“You are beautiful”
I was looking at the phone with a silly smile. At that moment, Lolo entered my office and his eyes fixed on the bouquet of roses.
“You received roses?”
“As you can see,” I said, walking to my desk and taking the gift casually, though I knew a major interrogation awaited me.
“Who sent them to you?” he asked, approaching the roses in search of some clue, but the card was already safely tucked away.
“They were sent by a friend, and I don’t have to give you any more information. I don’t ask you about all the girls you date.”
“So it’s someone you’re dating,” he said, looking at me accusingly.
“That’s right.”
“Why didn’t you tell us you were dating a guy?”
A guy? They were in for a big surprise because Henry was nothing like a young guy; he was older than both my brothers.
“We’re just getting to know each other,” I said.
“Are you in a relationship?” he asked, surprised.
“You could say that.”
Lolo picked up the phone from my desk and pressed the button that connected him to Bastián’s office. I looked at him trying to appear offended by this intrusion, but the truth was, it didn’t surprise me at all and, besides, it gave me the opportunity to tell them about Henry.
“Bastián, can you come to Dali’s office now?”
…
“Nothing’s wrong, but it seems our little sister has something important to tell us.”
After he hung up, he looked at me again.
“Bastián is coming here so you can give us details about your little boyfriend.”
“I don’t understand why we need a family meeting. You’re overreacting.”
At that moment, Bastián entered my office and also froze, staring at the roses.
“Why did someone send you roses?”
“Because she has a boyfriend,” Lolo said.
“You have a boyfriend?” Bastián asked, looking at me with surprise.
“That’s what I told you,” Lolo pointed out.
“Can I speak?” I asked. “If you really want to know about Henry, sit down and calm that anxiety, please!”
“Henry?” they asked in unison.
They were already testing my patience, they were so annoying! But I knew their intentions were good, they did it because they loved and cared for me. Those two could be a nuisance sometimes, but what they were willing to do for me definitely outweighed everything else.
“That’s his name,” I said.
They both sat around the conference table and I walked over there.
“We’re seated now, you can start telling us about this guy named Henry,” Bastián said, and Lolo nodded.
“First of all, Henry is not a guy, he’s older than both of you.”
“Whaaaaat?” they asked in unison again, those two seemed like synchronized twins!
“How old is he?” Lolo immediately asked.
“He’s 37 years old,” I responded calmly.
“Dali, he’s too old for you, he’s 13 years older,” Lolo said, more calmly.
Bastián looked at me seriously.
“Are you in love?” Bastián asked, and Lolo immediately looked at him and then at me with seriousness.
“I like him a lot and I feel good when I’m with him, but I don’t think I’m in love, not yet.”
“What’s his full name?” Bastián asked.
“Henry Woollardy.”
“I don’t know him,” Bastián said.
“Neither do I,” Lolo affirmed.
“I’m asking you please not to interfere in our relationship.
Right now we’re getting to know each other, I have no idea what the future holds for us or if we’ll last a week or a month or maybe longer, I don’t know.
The only thing I’m clear about is that I want to continue getting to know him and spending time with him. ”
While I was talking, I noticed Lolo searching for something on his phone. When I finished speaking, he looked at me and then showed his phone to Bastián, who began to look at it attentively.
“He’s a well-known businessman,” Lolo said.
“How do you know?” I asked, surprised.
“Because there’s quite a bit of information about him on the Internet. That surname isn’t common. It’s this guy, right?” Lolo asked, showing me photos of Henry on his phone.
I nodded while my two brothers looked at me seriously.
“Do you know about his life? Because here he’s seen with many women. There’s no doubt he’s an attractive man with money, but he seems to be quite the playboy,” Lolo said, concerned.
“We have a relationship based on fidelity, that was made clear. If he starts seeing other women, we’re done.”
“I don’t like this, Dali, I can’t lie to you.
I would have preferred someone your age and with less experience.
This guy has more experience than Lolo and I combined, and you’re such a sweet, romantic, and innocent girl.
Next to this guy, you’re just a babe in the woods,” Bastián said, and I could tell he was genuinely worried.
“Dali, I’m not going to tell you what to do.
As much as you’re our little sister to us, we understand that you’re a woman now, but I want you to be careful and not forget that men like this Henry only look for relationships that provide fun without commitment.
He’s a womanizer, Dali, keep that in mind.
Guard your heart, please. You know you can count on us and that we’ll always be by your side,” Lolo said.
“I know, thank you. I promise to be careful,” I said to reassure them.
“Are we going to meet him in person?”
“I’ll arrange something soon,” I said.
“Do it as soon as possible,” Lolo requested.
“Do you promise to take care of yourself?” Bastián said, very seriously, and it seemed to me that he meant it in many ways, both emotionally and sexually.
I had never talked about sex with my brothers.
The times they had tried to tell me something, they would come together and beat around the bush so much that they never managed to complete a sentence.
I knew they were uncomfortable talking about the subject, and now wasn’t the time to discuss it.
That indirect comment from Bastián was intended to ask me for caution and care, and I looked at him making it clear that I had understood.
“I promise.”
They left the office together. From their faces, I knew they were quite worried about me. I could put myself in their shoes and understand them. From my brothers’ perspective, the little they had seen of Henry’s life didn’t give him points in his favor; rather, it took them away.
